How long will Revolution 60 come to Steam?

Problem was that there really was no passion, just greed. The Wus thought they could cash in on mobile and social justice and when it became obvious they couldn't, we got 10 missed deadlines due to laziness and a forced, low key release to stave off lawsuits.

This guy gets it. Wu never wanted to be a game dev, she wanted to be a professional feminist traveling around giving speeches about white supremacy and sexism. The problem is Wu chose to get involved during a time when social justice and political correctness were becoming increasingly unpopular with the American public. Being a deranged deformed psychopath didn't help either.

Even with all that in mind it's still a better place than Twitter because no one will try to win an argument by stating "Child, I have 50K followers......"
 
Honestly, if Wu wanted to avoid looking like a dodgy asshole, he could have followed these steps:

1. Buy original game in original language.
2. Use ROM dumper to dump that game to computer.
3. Apply translation patch and play on emulator.
4. Show off original game (it would have Japanese characters on the sticker) and emulator screenshots, and admit dumping their own ROM to play on an emulator, which is perfectly legal.

That is perfectly legal, at least under US law, and he wouldn't look like a dodgy pirate in the process.

So, with Revolution 60 being around 700mb, I decided to take a look at the games I own and see what's either lower or in the same ballpark. I think it could be a fun game for everyone here and will allow you to have some perspective on what sort of mess that game is going to be.

Legend of Grimrock is 720mb. It's an outstanding, old school dungeon crawler that I highly recommend if you liked games like Pool of Radiance or Eye of the Beholder. Here are a couple of screenshots for comparing it to Rev60:

This. Wu also seems to know shit about Steam and how responsive sales are to consumer feedback. It's a place where you can get some really thought out reviews from another gamer. The fact that reviews inform you how many hours someone has put into the game they're reviewing or if they had early access or a copy given to them also helps a ton. It offers a safe level of transparency so you know the person isn't speaking out of their ass completely. At the same time if someone has 1k+ hours in a game you should probably ignore their review because they obviously have autism.

People wondering about cupcake crisis and project gogo let me tell you what happened to those two projects

Cupcake crisis: this project was made when her animator and programmer were still full committed to giant spaceshit as you can remember it still uses the praying mantis design of john the game died when the programmer was fired and the animator needed to feed her family because revolution 60 failed spectacularly

Project gogo: this stupidity was John trying to create some kind of VR SDK and platform, the main objective was to create a environment where the headset could detect emotions and portrayed it into the game, Gogo is one of the proof that john never ever mention his massive failures to the point that he has not mentioned it in years, one of the reasons he never speak of it is his failure to get the money, he tried with VC and failed remember we are talking about someone that cant even use normal VR, and only has one massive failure of a game in his CV

TL;DR Both projects are dead and John is preparing himself to jump ship and swim to another one to sink it

I predict a week of ranting about how people hate (him) women's in tech and yadda yadda with the obligatory rage delete of R60 from steam
I bet she didnt even try getting VC she just said she was to look important.

That's one interpretation, based on one's political bias.

In reality, as any comic nerd (and someone who looked it up like me because I wanted to get an idea what inspired the movie) would know, it was basically a clusterfuck of writers all writing their own biases into one plot and characters mostly became vehicles for each one to let the authors give their own views on the subject "should those with dangerous powers be regulated or trusted to do the responsible thing themselves".

Have you ever seen how Phil Fish pretends to be part of the industry because he made one game about five years ago and thats it? Well, John Flynt is going to do the exact same thing, except he will be getting more out of it because he has the "I am a woman in gaming/a tranny" card.
His head might be up his own asshole but at least he made something that was good and made money off of it.

I'm going with a solo project to critize Whooo (read with Skull Face voice) and maybe teach it (I could use them, but doesn't deserve it) some humility.

Cave Story, an originally freeware game that after its success was ported to PSP, 3DS , WiiU and Mac. The developer did everything (music, pixel art, coding...) by himself on his own free time for 5 years. The game it's basically a metroidvania and barely reaches 5MB (the freeware version, the Steam port is about 200 MB), yet it looks pretty good for a free time project. But Br (Hue) can't fucking release the game with a KS fund. Jesus Christ.

I could post a screencap, but the freeware version is still available. So just google it and play it. :biggrin:

It's hard to tell. In the U.S., fake birth certificates are routinely issued for adopted children. I have no doubt that Dr. and Mrs. Flynt would eagerly provide Flynt/Wu with all of the information they have on any adoption that might have taken place and also assist him in removing their names from any documents linking them to this monstrous person whose self-centered greed has caused their family so much grief. The discovery that his real mother was a crack whore working the docks on a naval base would probably give Flynt/Wu several hundred additional victim points.

But at the end of the day, the strong facial similarities shared by Dr. Flynt and Flynt/Wu cause me to strongly suspect that the adoption drama is something Flynt/Wu invented -- as obnoxious children will -- to explain why his parents were unwilling to drive the family into bankruptcy to support him in the life of leisure to which he felt -- and feels -- utterly and shamelessly entitled.
This seems worth looking into. I wonder if @Marvin is bored. Maybe we could ask an employee of one of the libraries to look it up? We have an exact date so it shouldnt take too long to look it up unless we want to look through more newspapers.

Shitting that game out at the worst possible time, in the hope no one would notice, it is exactly what I would do, if I somehow found myself in a parallel universe where I had to either release a shitty game that will inevitably bomb, or to loose the last shred of fake credibility...
Its also May which is a month that has like 10 major releases.
 
I love how any time someone says something negative about something that contains women, it's "unconscious bias." It can't be because it's fairly mediocre with an unimpressive plot. No, it features women prominently, so it's perfect and you're just a sexist shitlord. It certainly explains her mindset with R60, doesn't it?

Having excellent cutscenes is nice and all, but a game can have good cutscenes and still suck ass.

The love story bit......good grief, that crap was forced as hell. Even in universe the other characters tried to shoehorn it in and Squall facepalmed (literally) over it.

The point about low level runs being a good idea is true, but high level runs had their own rewards as well. It was a game designed to allow victory without worrying about a strict character level limit.

Weapons and armor being irrelevant is stupid because it ties into the levels bit, the game was designed to scale based on the levels of the cast and the expected stats for the levels of the characters based on a programmed set of averages. Equipment would have skewed the tally far too much, so they axed most of it to keep the math simple.

Draw system was not "deep", it was merely another way of providing stats boosts versus providing added attacks, with pros and cons for each. It was grindy as hell and kinda tedious if you didn't work your ass off early on to make sure you had all the spells in the world to junction on hand.

tl;dr: Fucking idiot is blowing smoke up this game's ass for stupid reasons.

No it didnt its just atypical for a JRPG. American RPGs were doing stat base character development ages ago. FF8's characters are all very homogenized gameplay wise and the only real thing that separates them are thier limit breaks. I find this to be FF8s biggest sin.

Is he really trying to compare the awesomeness of FF7's story with the mess that is the FF8 story?

And all of this is coming from someone who likes FF8. You either like FF8 or you hate it.

Ja try to beat ultimesia without all the final weapons and without a good level , only scrubs believed that grinding and crafting is not needed in a game

FF8 was shit and Brianna Flynt's bias is worn on his fucking sleeve. Seriously, it's great because of an opening movie and a cast that's half women? I didn't like 7 but let's not pretend 8's gameplay deserves any rewards. Everyone hated the fucking draw system, the main cast was the whiniest man imaginable, and the game dragged on tens of hours more than it needed to.

That said, the soundtrack was great.

New price! Maybe. This is more inline with Wu's original pricing from last year, around double the cost of the iOS version.

Deluxe version vs standard is interesting though, the entire games supposed to be the "Special Edition" so I wonder what the deluxe version will be. Soundtrack and the background book maybe?
I guess the "Standard" version is the original IOS game, and the "Deluxe edition" is going to be the laser eyerape version.

Pretty much this, the original plan was to sell his studio to a big AAA company, when R60 failed in mobile and john saw that after the kickstarter no one gave a shit about the PC version he gave up on doing more games and used the autistic edition to say that he is still a game dev

After the saltpocalypse expect john burning to the grounds the tweets about "I'm doing the thing I love and I made my dream come true " then saying something like "the game dev community is full of sexist assholes, I quit, I cant do this anymore please keep donating to my patreon so I can waste money in star trek timelines and soylent"

I've never been clear on that.
Doesn't matter in my opinion:
Either Wu lies about being adopted for pity-bucks and did all the horrible stuff she did to them, or she actually was adopted and treats her adoptive parents like crap, who had no obligation to give her a financially secure life, dump half a million dollar onto her vanity projects and even tried to get her a job in DC (with an apartment they apparently paid for).
 
What John fails to understand is that he created Revolution 60 to cater to himself and his interests, not to a general or niche audience. That and his talent for coding and writing captivating dialogue, characters and storylines are extremely limited.
