Won't be long now till we learn that Rinoa is trans, deal with it.

"Games boss" John Flynt believes in his product so much that he doesn't even need to talk about it!

Rinoa is more of a plot device than an actual character FFS.

What John fails to understand is that he created Revolution 60 to cater to himself and his interests, not to a general or niche audience. That and his talent for coding and writing captivating dialogue, characters and storylines are extremely limited.

THIS. And I'll take the time to remind you of this brain-fart:

S. and S. You know who you are, you assholes. I spent two years attempting to produce an animated version of this series based off the girls in college called “The Cracker.” I funded it with my own money. It was a really good script (I hope I’ll get a chance to present it to you in a future animated series) and these two assholes ruined my film. One S. is a weasel tried to take financial advantage of the fact that I’m a nice guy that does not want to cheat people, and the other S. is just a lazy bitch that wouldn’t do any work, despite the fact we were paying her. Both of you are human filth.

Those two "S"es were her fucking Sarah Champagne and Stephen Philips, who were the co-financiers of Socially Unconscious Productions and were a bit miffed that Wu was a fucking do-nothing basketcase that accomplished fuck all with the money they collectively got from John's parents.

Slut shaming a fictional character is just sad... but not as sad as creating sexist stereotypes to quench ones own woman fetish, eh Wu?

Regardless of how Tifa's dressed she's a well developed character w/ plenty of plot significance.

Compared to Wu's poorly proportioned, scantily-clad, 2 dimensional characters who exist to fulfill her own power fantasies. And she shouldn't be one to talk about "oversexualized design" when she puts a friggin ROBOT of all characters in lingerie!

Hate to go off-topic, but is the sequel any good?

The core game is basically the same, but they've expanded it a lot, in that it's better in every way.

It seems a lot bigger (along with it being more open with more puzzles and less of a defined order) , there's more environments (you get to drown now) and seriously, fuck Ratfolk ninjas.

If you enjoyed the first one, get the second. Just uh, don't bother with gunpowder weapons unless they've been patched.

A-nyway, on topic Wu is basically entirely wrong about 8 - it was hardly ground breaking in what it did. I mean, it was still a great game and all. I wouldn't call it underappreciated either, I just took some time to look at some polls, and it doesn't really score badly - It's not at the top like FF7 /6 usually are though.

There's no equipment per-se but your weapon level can cause some serious disparity in power as mentioned before; with effective management of Triple Triad you can easily become game breakingly powerful before the end of disc 1 /sperg.

As for the characters? 8's already been covered by previous posters but 7's cast, whilst more male are hardly 'bros'. Their genders don't really impact how they interact with each other or anything.

This is a case of Wu supporting something different enough that they can try to appear cool and quirky and different to the popular view, but still popular enough to have people back her on it if she has to argue about it.

I feel like someone would have dug up adoption records at some point by now.

You can't really do that. Even the adoptee often has difficulty getting useful records like that because in most cases, the parents who gave up the child for adoption do not want to be located.

Just because it's John Flynt, though, I assume it's a lie.

With Wu though, she'll probably soon be on to the next scheme that surely this time will make her an overnight celebrity millionaire.

Recent tweets seem to indicate John might be considering switching from being a fake game developer to being a fake journalist.

I just want to drop my periodic reminder that any time Wu takes a "controversial" stand on something mainstream, she's intentionally trolling for attention and drama. Even she doesn't believe all the nonsense she says. It's just clickbait in Twitter format.

If R60 doesn't get enough attention, maybe she'll go after "Toy Story 3" like Cole Smithey.

I checked her mentions. Not a single man said anything about this. Two women did though.
Fucking Wu, always sensationalising. It's a bloody good thing none of her hangers-on bother to check the veracity of anything she says.
I'm sure it's those dang dirty GooberGophers sending her DMs and e-mails to harass this poor Woman in Tech over her unsolicited opinion.

Poor Natalie must be overworked combatting all this cyber-sexism! (:_(

Tifa had huge tits and some shorts. Her character made sense and contributed to the plot. This really smells like bait because Wu is a big fan of FFX which had a tall goth looking chick with a huge chest plus major cleavage and then there was another girl who pretty much wore skimpy clothes throughout most of the game. Wu doesn't mention those. Personally I don't give a fuck because they all had distinct personalities but yeah.. this is bait.

I may be wrong here, but isn't Tifa sort of tomboyish? So wouldn't Wu have something more in common with her then?

Actually, it's kinda subtle, but BOTH Tifa and Aerith (or Aeris, take your pick) fill both the tomboy and feminine roles.

Aerith has the whole flower girl/doomed mysterious maiden thing going, but at the same time was willing to fight for herself and joined everyone else in doing so. Tifa is a brawler, but is shown with musical and (in the movie) maternal qualities (and even before then goes out of her way to essentially be Cloud's therapist).

In truth, both ladies fulfill both roles at different times in their own way, so Wu bashing one or the other for being a victim of sexism is ridiculous.

I'll never understand people's attacks on movies/games/whatever from over ten years ago. Like retroactively throwing a fit about things is going to further your cause.

There's nothing in the recently played list that's within the past month, so do you think she's had Revolution 60 running for most of those hours? I don't think a hidden/unreleased game would show on that list.

I'm pretty sure that's it. Maybe after reading this thread and realizing she needed to play the game after Steamification she rammed in 13.9 hours of testing.

Or maybe she's played 13.9 hours of it through Steam channels over the course of development, and it all shows up now because the game now exists in the DB.

I feel like someone would have dug up adoption records at some point by now.

People here oversell the powers of internet sleuths. There are things that you need access to non-internet databases, or non-computerized data sources, to verify.

And it was hard to prove adoption even before the Internet. Adoption groups fought for the right to make adoption be on equal legal and social footing with birth, and there really isn't any countermanding lobby, so they got it.

It's fine to assume it's a lie because Flynt says it, but this one has at least been a consistent lie. Flynt usually tells his lies a different way every time.
