Wu obviously admires FF13 for being a game about a dude's waifu and dreams that one day he himself will be put in charge of something with production values and show the whole world HIS autistic story and how kawaii Holiday is.

I bet he likes the Resident Evil films for similar reasons.
The Resident Evil films are good if you like simple action movies. I mean, if you compare them to other video game movies coming out at the time the RE films are fucking masterpieces.

Wu definitely doesn't want to be a small-timer. She wants to be "Creative Genius" Brianna Wu. Have her name in a big font flash across the screen as she hosts an E3 panel full of adoring fans. She wants Rev60 fanart and cosplayers.
I understand the desire for your creation to hit the mainstream, but in Brianna's case it really feels like she just wants to be fawned over and adored like Jay Geis.

I expected Holiday to be on that list.

I know it's sponsored links and that they don't have much control over it... Still....

It'll run like shit on anything that isn't his Mac, especially if the computer has a different graphic card brand.

The fact his mobile game is apparently killing his graphics card doesn't bode well for it running well on anything.
There's nothing about his game that should require that much power unless it's very badly optimized and coded.
I know we know that, but he's bragging on Twitter like that's a good thing and not the sign of a shitty product.

Wu likes FFXIII?

What a pretentious contrarian fuckface.
Regardless of whether you appreciate the story that is one godawful game...unless we're comparing it to Revolution 60.
I always thought the story was shit compared to the gameplay. The only good characters were Fang and Sazh and only because Fang was waifu and Chocofro was basically normal guy.

We hasn't tweeted about beta testers and SteamDB says the steam version hasn't changed in 6 months, so any testing is probably being done on Wu's personal devices.
Oh you silly card, thinking Wu is doing any testing for a game that's never going to come out in the first place...

Isn't that the core complaint about anything Squeenix does now? Where the first 12 hours of gameplay is just the fucking tutorial?

I don't know a single sane person who defends that bullshit, alongside the unrequested dish of "What the fuck is even going on with the lore anymore?"
Quite frankly, I think people get blinded by the design, which is always outlandish but also kind of impressive.
So yeah, they let themselves be fooled by fancy designs and nice graphics and thus overlook pretty much anything that's going on with the exceedingly idiotic lore that surrounds some of these games.

It's kinda funny the way Wu is building it up with "Oh, just adding some color here and some lighting there then it's ready to go!~" as if playtesting and bug searching doesn't exist.

I don't expect lighting and color tweaks to be 'game' breakers, but come the fuck on.

Sadly, we know this is true, and not just due to Wu coming straight out and admitting it:

Now that would actually potentially be a fun scene if you could actually fucking PLAY it.
My thoughts exaclty, where gameplay is limited to QTEs and awkward, repetetive combat, that scene might have had several opportunities to add something. At least they could have implemented a few of their boring QTEs during those physics-defying acrobatics. Heck, they could have added a "tap the flying drones to shoot them down" mechanic.

But there's probably a reason why they didn't add QTEs: If they had, they would have had to add animations in case of failures.
And coding another minigame would have had the severe downside of being forced to code another minigame.

Is today supposed to be release day, or tomorrow?

I decided on Saturday, myself, because it's the "end of the week" as most people understand it. Possibly I was also influenced by the end of the week also being the end of the month.

Some people might count it as Friday, the end of the traditional work-week, but Wu doesn't go into an office and work like some pleb.

There are also lots of people in accounting who run their weeks from Monday to Sunday, but that felt like giving too much credit.

EDIT: Brianna logs into Kickstarter when, and only when, someone leaves a comment. Not to respond to them, though. She must get an email and go check it out to see if it's worth his time to delete it, and is probably being auto-logged in when visiting the page.

John shouldn't worry, there are slaneesh space marines, his mutilated junk would be thematically appropriate. Maybe I'll start giving a shit about female representation as marines in fiction once there are actual female marines at the same level of competency as males IRL that go beyond a statistical rounding error.

Yeah, but they're their own thing and not really space marines. In any case, any sort of division based on sex is inherently problematic, because of the assumption that there are underlying differences that go beyond skin-deep superficiality. Sexual dimorphism is a patriarchal construct.
