It's because they don't even know how the EU affected their country; all they know is that it's now slightly harder to vacation in France or elsewhere using their Eton-schooled parents' money, and that the other guys has a mean poopyhead like Falange supporting them.

I will say the UK people who work abroad have valid concerns about their own ability to continue working in other countries, but hopefully the UK will work something out with the EU.
The person worried about there being no more jobs in diplomacy or something is just
. They're not part of the EU anymore, that doesn't mean they're not going to carry out diplomatic operations with it. If anything, perhaps there will be more diplomatic positions opening up as new treaties and deals are negotiated.
The US has never been part of the African Union but we still have diplomats in Mozambique.

They've been talking about that for a while considering that the majority of people asked in the commonwealth portion of the Five Eyes countries namely the UK, Canada, Australia & New Zealand are all in favor of being able to work and travel freely to those other countries. I know that Australia and New Zealand already have some sort of agreement between themselves and to include the other two could actually be a good thing. Besides that, if you include the US in the deal Great Britain already trades and deals more with us than they do with the rest of Europe.
Really this seems to have been done with the best of intentions for Great Britain. Sure the pound has taken a beating and the stock market is all over the place but this is what happens when a major event like this takes place. It's not permanent and within a couple months things should start getting back to normal.

I understand that the "us vs. them" mentality runs deep within these people but still, it takes a lot of mental gymnastics to convince yourself that half of all your countrymen are xenophobic, poor working class, neo-Nazi, racist old men.
Also, gotta love all the ageism and classism that's emerging. "Working class" may as well be "Holocaust denier" to these people.
