I don't hate myself enough to watch all of Jammies's videos, so I have to ask, is he always this much of an annoying faggot?
A while ago I started getting this guy's content in my feed
constantly, and given how much people post about him in this thread, I think a lot of other people did too. It seems like most people just post the thumbnails without watching the videos. I find this perfectly understandable, as the videos are pretty intolerable to sit through. However, I have watched a few Jammies videos all the way through, and am therefore more authoritative on the topic than most posters in this thread. If there's interest or I feel motivated, I might post an analysis of his response to Exquofante's excellent video on race realism. For now, there are really two things that I think are important to understand about Jammies:
1)
Jammies does not see himself as a Breadtuber. He plainly toes the Breadtube party line, as proven by the number of critical responses he's made to chuddy video essays and his rabid support for fellow lolcow Oliver Thorn, but he doesn't limit himself to just this topic. Since the start of the channel he's replied to nonpolitical video essays. He's responded to an essay on music, an essay on "sigma males," and a LOT of apology videos (which in my opinion don't count as video essays, but they are on his channel for some reason.) Following his Exquofante video, he said that he wants to distance himself from politics. His channel description reads that he likes "making on videos on weird people," which presumably includes but is not limited to chuds.
2)
I earnestly believe that Jammies has a developmental disorder. I am not saying this to be mean, or to be funny, or to discredit a person with whom I disagree politically. This might be controversial to say in this thread, but in my opinion, Breadtube videos usually have high production value that demonstrates a degree of intelligence. I would even go so far as to say that most Breadtubers
are smart, and only say stupid things because they've been indoctrinated into holding high allegiance to a particular political position. Jammies, on the other hand, shows no such signs of intelligence, and in fact shows many signs of mental deficiency. His signature style is to record his screen while he plays the video on the left half of the browser and takes notes in MS Paint on the right half. This is already pretty autistic, but it's especially stupid when he does it because handwriting his notes in real time reveals the fact that he can hardly spell. He draws a lot of attention to this as well, saying things like "sorry I'm a bad speller." This is accentuated by his terrible handwriting, which isn't really his fault because it's basically impossible
not to have bad handwriting when writing in MS Paint with a mouse, but then he didn't have to choose that particular style anyway. He will also occasionally do math in real time, demonstrating that he struggles to do relatively simple problems without a calculator. At one point in the Exquofante video, he gets very excited when Exquofante shows a graph on crime statistics, declaring crime his specialty because he studies forensic science. He fails to realize that forensic science knowledge is immaterial to one's capacity to interpret graphs, and that this was only tangentially related to Exquofante's point, so discrediting the graph does not disprove the argument. More importantly, though, he plainly misunderstands the graph, which is disturbing because he reports interpreting data to be among his strengths. He gets confused easily, struggling to follow arguments, and in many places his counterarguments are "that doesn't make sense," "I don't understand," or "you are stupid." I'm not exaggerating; he will often respond to a claim with no counter beyond calling it and/or the person making it "stupid." Most of the problems with his videos could be avoided if he wrote a script ahead of time, but for some reason he always improvises, despite making comments in his responses which suggest he's seen the original video already. Finally, I'll point out that his leftism is evidence of a lack of critical thinking, but I understand not everyone will agree with me there, so take it with a grain of salt. In all, he has difficulty reading, writing, doing math, and reading graphs, which means he would certainly do very poorly on standardized tests like the SAT or ACT and is probably at least one standard deviation below the average IQ.
Jammies is 100% a lolcow, and he is 100% in agreement with Breadtube, but he is a different category of lolcow than someone like Contrapoints or Philosophy Tube. He's not really deviant or malicious in the way they are, nor is he especially committed to politics. I would consider him a lolcow primarily on the grounds that he produces bad content and is abnormally stupid.
