Bolsonaro wins

I figured I'd start this thread in a similar manner to the Swedish one, about a topic of considerable importance this weekend which we all forgot about.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_general_election,_2018
General elections are scheduled to be held in Brazil on 7 October 2018 to elect the President, Vice President and the National Congress. Elections for state Governors and Vice Governors, state Legislative Assemblies and Federal District Legislative Chamber will be held at the same time.

So, who do you think is going to win? Will @AN/ALR56 come back to life and educate us? Polls looks quite good for Bolsonaro as God-Emperor of the southern half of the New World.

Bolsonaro seems to be pretty much what Trump would be like if God, at the moment of his birth, had decided to bestow upon him a pair of solid brass balls the size of Detroit.
Probably because of their very different backgrounds. Bolsonaro's first big break in becoming known was in 1986 when he (as a soldier) gave an op-ed to a magazine about the shoddy state of the military, while Trump was already a household name and busy wheeling and dealing buying up shares of companies, like, say, Holiday Corporation (Holiday Inn) or Bally Manufacturing (which at the time owned Six Flags and the Bally-Midway arcade division).

They're making it so easy to know who needs to go up against the wall first.

If they were really actually that scared and as smart as they want to believe they wouldn't be painting a bullseye on themselves.

Boulos is literally shaking that his antifa likes groups, that fights for the right of the homeless, are being treated as terrorists:

Reminder of how MST and MTST achieve their objectives.

Folha is literally shaking that Bolsonaro is attacking them and they might get Gawker'ed:

Reminder what for Folha was the equivalent of "Putin and the russian hackers" of the brazilian elections:

The brazilian dictatorship lasted 21 years, from 1964 to 1985. Around 600 commies died during this period, roughly 0.078 worthless stalin shills per day.

This is what those pathetic low lifes are afraid of. And it's absurd because there will be no dictatorship anymore in Brazil, it's fucking impossible because after this period the fuckers did everything they could to take away any power from the executive branch of the republic. But even if this happens someday, the brazilian "fascism" was a fucking joke! Nobody died here.

The meme is chilean for a reason. Sadly, Brazil never had helicopter rides.

I'd argue that killing political dissidents at all already implies that a state is morally repugnant due to its willingness to commit murder over differences in opinion. Nobody forfeits their basic human rights by having the wrong opinions, whether those opinions are of a communist, national socialist, or any other persuasion. Bashing the fash when the fash still hasn't done anything is wrong, and throwing the commies off of helicopters if they haven't organized into guerrillas is also wrong.

Mind you, none of that really matters, since even if Bolsonaro wanted to stage a coup the military isn't what it used to be, so they wouldn't go along and it'd fall apart.

On a slightly unrelated note, why are all of the gringos comparing Trump with Bolsonaro? They aren't that similar in terms of personality, background or platform. Is it just the liberals trying (and failing) to contextualise them both as the harbingers of fascism?

Basically. It was going to either be Trump, Hitler, or Voldemort.

Well, that's a shame. I was hoping they'd finally grown a brain and started to look at a candidates policies before declaring them evil fascists.
Because I can see how a foreigner who doesn't know much about Brazil could look at Bolsonaro and see a sexist homophobe, maybe racist with his talk of encroaching on native reserves, possibly a wannabe dictator with his talk of wiping out the opposition and praising the military dictatorship, and from there conclude he's a fascist because the term has always been a bit vague, but comparing him with Trump is nonsensical.

An ex-military captain who campaigned on a platform of stopping crime, less corporate regulations, Christian Values(TM), bringing down the corrupt establishment and maybe killing minorities every now and then doesn't really bring Trump to mind, you know what I'm saying?

Under spoiler because it's a long ass post but the left is straight up lying to make it seem like brazil is already turning into 1939 germany. The guy didn't even had time to do anything yet; Also there weren't any crimes related to the result of the elections either.
Nothing of this happened.

You just know if someone posted a response of "Citation/source needed" they'd chimp out and start throwing buzzwords around.

Some people are dumb and repeat everything they hear

If they were really actually that scared and as smart as they want to believe they wouldn't be painting a bullseye on themselves.
They are acting like Sarah Connor from the first Terminator movie rather than from the second.

If you know Judgement Day is coming, absolutely no-shit know it will happen, you don't pussyfoot around. You start creating caches of weapons in the desert, learning survival skills, and making friends with sketchy people. Virtue signalling on reddit and twitter from the safety of your couch ain't it.

I just fucking realized.
This guy looks exactly like a mix between Carl Sagan and my high school physics teacher.

Ugh, I actually know somebody from Brazil who has been overreacting to this. He actually managed to not sleep for 48 hours out of anxiety because of this. I actually feel bad for him because we're not enemies and he has mental health issues, but God, does he not know how to question what the media says? Seriously, he's too overtaken with the fear he will get killed and lust for Haddad (no kidding about that part LOL :story:) to actually see through the left's fearmongering.

Funny how all those people against Bolsonaro are sheltered rich kids. How do I know? Average people in Brazil, even middle-class people in small cities, already hear gunshots and worry about becoming casualties of crime every day.

:powerlevel:: I live in the middle of a small city, and I made up a game. I call it "kids setting off firecrackers for their birthday or someone being shot". It goes along pretty well with "drunk girl screaming just because drunk or drunk girl being raped/murdered" and "drunk guy screaming just because drunk or drunk guy being murdered".
