They're not really wrong as the original definition of "working class" was "someone who supports themselves/their household financially through producing goods and services with their own labor", not about compensation. The context is that within the leftist bubble, they're debating whether someone like a doctor who earns a lot of money doing complex surgeries is "working class" or not because of his high income. According to the definition, if the doctor does the surgeries himself, he is working class, but if he runs a hospital that employs other doctors to do the surgeries and takes a cut of their income, he's not. Their communist idea is that society would be a lot more egalitarian and efficient without the "manager" class that earns their income from owning, staking and coordinating systems instead of from direct labor. This is impossible to prove because a manager class will have to arise when running systems at scale, therefore "real communism has never been tried". Of course, Bluesky conveniently ignores that the many welfare and GoFundMe parasites among their numbers are also not working class by any definition.

Doctors don't really a lot of money. If you consider the amount of debt they take on and the opportunity cost of delaying their earnings, it's a shit deal. Once on they're on the other side of it, they have a vested interest in keeping it that way because if the process is made easier their wages will fall and the suffering they went through will be for nothing.
Then we get flooded with pajeets with fake degrees, the massive cost of education for niggers gets subsidized, and standards get changed to allow ARNP to do the work most doctors do anyway.
Back to the original point, most people lie to themselves that they aren't working class when they totally are at the whims of the labor market.

There's lots to criticize about current year economics, but remember that only leftists care about the "working class" definition debate. In a team sports way specifically. Being "working class" makes them the Good Guys unlike the "bourgeoisie" Bad Guys, so everyone in that demographic is trying their hardest to stretch the definition of "working class" to include themself personally and exclude the people they don't like. Hence the seething at landlords, small business owners, and people who buy stocks, while not a peep about family leeches and welfare parasites.
