I would argue Youtube is center depending on what videos you watch. There are right wing youtubers, left wing youtubers, and non political users. As for Twitch, if this was before 2020's Twitch, I would agree that its right wing because I remember when Twitch users would spam black emotes whenever there was a monkey, chicken, guns on screen. Anything bomb related? Twitch chat would spam arab people emotes. Nowadays, until I see them perma ban HasanPiker, there's no way Twitch is right wing.

To these people, if right wing content is allowed at all, the platform is right wing. But otherwise I would agree, it only has a slight bias towards left wing, as all tech platforms do.

Pillowfort(.io) is/was the 9,001st Tumblr knock-off when the website was in the middle of fragmenting after they nixed the NSFW content there. Like Cohost, Stoat, and all these other retard offshoots spearheaded by directionless Henry Bemis-esque trannies with all the free time in the world to do whatever they please but zero work ethic to actually get anything done it was doomed to fade into obscurity.

They were booted by PayPal, and nearly lost their .io domain, for hosting enough adult content on the platform for it to be "a problem".

edit: I checked, Pillowfort is still around and they are still in a semi-closed beta that you have to pay $5 to access (or else you can wait forever on their "rolling waitlist"). They've literally been in this "give us five dollars" beta for NINE years.

The people working at Youtube are extremely left-wing, and they have fucked with their recommender algorithm to avoid right-wing content: https://academic.oup.com/pnasnexus/article/2/8/pgad264/7242446

So it's very much not a "center" or neutral, they barely allow right-wing content and have (well-funded) programs and platform-level tweaks to push audiences and creators toward the left.

I like that this study shows a clear bias in Youtube's algorithm, but they don't define what some of the terms are, like anti-woke. The best we get is a reference to Joe Rogan as anti-woke. The study does mention:

"...the Right and Far Right classes contain a higher proportion of videos that include false information, or “Fake News.” If that is the case, then the observed asymmetry in YouTube’s recommendations could be explained by the recommendation algorithm’s aversion to fake content and misinformation"

This labelling is deliberate: Youtube flags anything anti-global warming as fake news and anything anti-jab as fake news. It even flagged an official World Economic Forum with an anti-conspiracy label. Imagine the reeing if gender bullshit got labels warning people about fake biology.

iirc. the study actually controlled for the misinformation flagging etc. It's just one of the tricks the NGO class has tried to use on all platforms, youtube skews left by itself even when ignoring that.

It's very much a leftoid platform that tries to manipulate its users into a lefty political ideology.

I guess I got lucky and found some right wing Youtubers before the algorithm messed it all up. It feels pretty crazy though because I could get a ton of right wing content videos with lots of views but then when you stumble on a left wing video that has the opposite views, it feels like you're on another site.
 
All these years after they left twitter and they're still seething about it getting bought out by Elon.

If the former, it seems like half the internet is dying today, I know Equinix FR5 (Frankfurt) had some overheating and stuff that cascaded yesterday (and Josh mentioned some power outages, not sure if that's the same).

I remember when my artist friends would come up to me saying "dude, you have to get on this Pillowfort website. It's so much better than Tumblr after they removed NSFW content, dude. I'll give you an invite, bro". I cared so little for it that I said 'no' like three times before finally giving in and getting an invite. Haven't used it or even thought about it since then.
