I've seen some responses to this also be something along the lines of "Wow! You expect me to leave? I'll stay and fight to make my country a place for everyone!" It goes back into the whole question of "If these people believe the US government is a fascist dictatorship, why do they still think voting matters when Trump could literally cancel elections"? Of course the response to that is also "He will do it towards the end of his term because he said that hes trying to run for a 3rd term". Again, its pretty much a "Just you wait and see, he will be like hitler soon"

I hate this because libraries are one of the public goods I'm most in favor of. Say what you want about food stamps, afterschool care, many variations on taxpayer-funded resources for poors/everyone, but the library? It has such a noble soul, wealthy people in past civilizations would keep a library as a status symbol. And honestly, keeping some computers around for people to use to check e-mail, or do research, or whatever - this makes sense, even in an era of smartphones. But I see them yanking certain books from the shelves, putting "Little Billy Chops His Cock Off" front and center of the kids' section, and fent zombies shuffling around jerking off in the aisles, and it really tests my patience.
