I mean, you know, or they could just all get blanket pardons to avoid any consequences.

I think my favorite part of the Bluesky posting is this weird tendency to go full-tilt fearmongering, trying to imagine the most extreme scenario, then just start discussing things as though that's the most likely outcome. "OMG, what if Drumpf becomes dictator for life??!!" then turns into "We have to vote Trumpler out of office otherwise there won't BE another election!" which becomes "We have LITERALLY two years to prevent full fascist backslide and then America as we know it is gone forever", within the span of like a few months. It must be so impossible to remember which degree of insanity you're at in any given moment.

Social media rewards doomposting like this, which leads to more people doing it--and believing this apocalypse porn. The really funny part is what happens when you point out to them that their porn isn't real. They don't feel relived that all these horrible things aren't actually happening, they get angry and defensive.

I am still waiting for the LGBT death-camps that they promised us Trump would start building immediately after inaguration in jan 2017.
He is really shit inefficient as a dictator since after 9 years not even the first death camp has been built.

How hard could it be? Some barbed wire from home-depot or the ag shop and some cheap tents from walmart and voila you have a death camp.

It's been a few months, so I decided to check Bluesky's stats again and noticed something odd. When I checked in March 2026, Bluesky was advertising just under 60 million users. At the time, however, roughly 35% of those accounts had already been banned or deleted. Here's the screenshot I took then:

I checked the live Clearsky count today and found that roughly 14 million accounts had been removed from the total, all of which were banned or deleted accounts.

So what's going on? Is Bluesky actively purging its public data to make the site appear less dead than it really is? If so, bragging about keeping its data public for the sake of transparency while quietly doing something like this is incredibly scummy.

Of Bluesky's meager daily activity, the majority share of it is bots following random accounts and liking posts. The latter is understandable since the easiest thing to do on social media is clicking like. But following specifically should not really ever be a significant portion of the platform's activity. On average, someone may follow accounts a few times a week (if they even follow anyone that week at all), yet it accounts for a significant portion of the site's activity in spite of having a very small userbase. If you check one of the protocol's activity tracker sites, following is like, the only activity on the uptick, while everything else has been sliding down consistently which is really suspicious. The Discover feed specifically is almost entirely bot populated with many of those definitely-real-people apparently having clicked "follow" tens of thousands of times. That is incredibly suspect.

X has spam problems, but you were able to clock that it has a spam problem. Bluesky is almost entirely spam and bots to the point where you made a post thinking those were genuine posts because the spam is all you really ever see anyway. Nothing is really done because interacting with leftists is functionally the same as interacting with bots and because without them, it would reveal how dead and decayed the site really is.
I had an account on the site when registrations were still invite-only, and after they became open the first thing I noticed was a massive outpouring of porn on literally every feed. Some of it was legitimate (mostly trannies fleeing X) but a lot of it was the typical Indian spammer dreck you'd find on any other site.

The thing that makes porn spam on Bluesky so much worse is that, because There's No Algorithm (main selling point of bsky), there's no way to actually block it from your feed. You can disable adult content in your user settings but the website doesn't try to automatically flag NSFW like X does so it's basically worthless. The author of the skeet has to flag it themselves. The Indians won't because it increases the reach of their post and the trannies won't because they literally believe it is a righteous act to expose random people to their gross fetish porn. This is not a joke. They will openly post about how any censorship of NSFW content on social media platforms is literally genocide. And of course because There's No Algorithm literally any spam post will work its way into your feed.

They know about this. They had people telling them it was a problem after the beta ended. They refuse to do anything about it. It's frustrating.

There could be a more logical explanation but you have to consider that Bluesky has literally never been "open." The public benefit corporation and AT protocol and public data stuff is all just window dressing. Nobody has built on the AT protocol because they don't allow anyone to. There's no way to independently audit their data.

Their plan was to flourish in a sympathetic Harris administration and fudge everything so they could have the PR of being X But Betterer And Opener. That failed, the administration is decidedly apathetic, and every marketing stunt they've tried since has been an embarrassing disaster. Their last big exposure to the public was when they were nixing certain types of NSFW and everyone got to see literally thousands of bsky users admit they posted and consumed boatloads of rape porn. That's their legacy. They're the rape porn website.

Odd. I wonder what the purpose of trying to downplay the amount of banned or lost users are.
To not scare advertizers away?

Advertisers are not afraid of user churn, they are afraid of their ads going on display next to, well, BlueSky content.
I still remember the complete uproar when BS started to clamp down on the CP on the site and how the users started a shitstorm and basically started death-treats against all the BS employees.
That kind of environment generally is not optimal for advertisers or where they want to put ads for their products.

EDIT: anyway, there must be time soon for another round of vc funding. With the slow growth in users, but more importantly with the advertiser-cancer content they have, how do they plan to sell the investment opportunity to the venture investors.

This makes no sense to me, apart from incompetence and laziness or some weird incentive. Firstly, it's not like bsky has shied away from using AI in general (much to their fanatical userbase's dismay), and detecting NSFW content is an old and well-studied problem with a ton of both creative and robust solutions that aren't necessarily even the irrationally hated type of "AI".

I suspect it's likely a more boring answer (Hanlon's razor and all that), Bluesky just automatically purging/deleting banned accounts after some fixed appeal/retention period (that it's a significant percentage of their earlier claimed userbase is a different issue about who they ban).

As far as I know there is an alternative: Blacksky. But since niggers can't read and the few that can generally don't care about social justice bullshit it has almost no users.

Bluesky's primary product appears to be propaganda. I noticed a lot of new accounts being made to push propaganda. I guess because the old ones were too easily identifiable or had gotten on too many block lists.

I've said it before on this website blusky is simply part of a cycle. it happened to tumblr and xitter, and there will be many more to come. A bunch of caustic crybullies that no sane site would want on their platform.
