Man that first DMR in the B6 beta is so fucking terrible that it turns you off from trying the other one even though the second one, the SVK, is actually good. 2 shot kills and great range. Paired with no glint, you can pick off recons on the snow map with two shots. Only played an hour or so with it, wish I tried it sooner.

Also the G36 is great, as it should be. The AK is alright but not for me personally. Only tried the first LMG and found it stunk on ice. Also maxxed out the pistol - it's only good when you get the laser attachment so hipfire is at least marginally accurate. Shotgun with slugs was nasty, def going to be nerfed on release.

I seriously hope they have more variable optics in the full release. I fucking hate canted shit. There's only one LPVO and as far as I could tell only the minimi can actually use it. The other optics are all static. One of the only good things about 2042 was the functional variable optics, even if they weren't on all that many guns. They need to bring that back. Give me a 1-4x specter or something.

Every Battlefield has had variables except for like 1, I think, so I don't doubt they'll add variable scopes.

Yea, I just mean more in general. I don't doubt there will be an option for a magnifier for the 1x optics like in 4, and they obviously have the one LPVO but I would be happier with more options on more guns. 4 was great for giving every rifle access to every optic available for that class of weapon.

The TTK and gunplay actually reminds me of Titanfall 2 but with less mobility. The bots in Intiation Breakthrough are similarly retarded to TF2 without the big robots to stomp them, glad they're stuck to that game mode.

Cairo is a legitimately good BF map. Big lanes to objectives but nothing wide open enough for snipers to dominate. Tanks/IFVs are vulnerable but can shut down bigger lanes with a little support. Iberian offensive is falls into the BF1 problem of conquest feeling like a couple big groups of players following eachother in circles. Liberation Peak is a sniper-vehicle meatgrinder with a few people playing mini conquest in the northern caps.

If they tune down snipers(ie reduce the glare, make it harder to snipe while being shot at) and tweak the maps it could be a very good game.

I'm debating whether or not to give into my inner manchild because this is genuinely fun and preorder. I'm seeing friends I haven't seen online in years come online to play the open beta.

:disagree: for "don't pre-order"

:agree: for "pre-order"
Other than Fromsoft games I would never preorder a game ever.

Names a mode that was only in Battlefield 1

kek

Operations were fun but having that be your make or break is hilariously sad
I played bf1 almost exclusively for operations. I loved the chaotic and drawn-out matches. Breakthrough in BFV was

edit: I also hate how this franchise completely throws out good ideas from the previous games after every installment. Bf1 Behemoths were fun, operations was godly. BFV's squad commander system was a cool system, and I liked building new cover as supports. And don't forget commander mode from bf4

I’m thinking i’m going to play bf6 as my first battlefield after i upgrade my rig, is it good? system specs look amazing so i suppose it must run really good right?

Playing the Heli on Alpine rules. The canyon shakes off Lock ons way to easy, you just fly over HQ for a full heal and reload, have your gunner constantly fire rockets and straife. The biggest threat is actually the AA gun, otherwise I had multiple Engies dedicated to trying to stinger me and only got taken down a few times over the weekend. Made it through an entire game on one heli when I got better about not clipping the canyon trying to evade a lock on.

I've seen others online report that it's been well optimised and I was playing on high settings with a stable 144fps 1920x1080 no upscaling and frame gen enabled, using a 9060xt and 5800x3d.

Decided to give the beta a try given my dad got it while watching twitch (he’s the quintessential flavor of the month gamer and I will never know what that’s like). I thought it was okay. I don’t know if I’d purchase it myself because I’m not a multiplayer first person shooter guy and I’m not really a fan of Battlefield. The last one I played was 1 which, in spite of setting off my historical autism, I thought was the best right behind Bad Company 2.

The problem is I have no idea what to think of it. Map design is not something I’m equipped to talk about when it comes to Battlefield. But I played, shrugged thinking it was fine, then the beta period ended and I left not really feeling like it had an impact on me.

I'm on PC using M&KB, and I've been enjoying the gunplay, though I do think they need to tone down the bloom. I also think the bloom/recoil issues might be specifically because we lack all of the attachments that will eventually be in the game. In older battlefields, I remember being able to turn most guns into no-recoil lasers with the right attachments, so I don't doubt we'll be able to do the same in this game.

But also, I'm 30 years old, so there are tons of gun fights that I'm losing specifically because I'm not a kid on Adderall.
Wait until you get to your late 30s, it gets even worse.
One legitimate concern I have with Battlefield 6 is that kernel level anti cheat built into it. Something about having full access to your computer to play a game is scary.
This is my biggest complaint so far and I’m on the fence about buying it. I managed to try the beta by turning secure boot on and manually selecting my windows drive since Grub has a key mismatch and won’t start. While sounding like cope, here is the key difference between EA and Riot games. EA is an American company that no investment firm has the right to their IP and by extension anti-cheat software like Riot Games has with Tencent. I trust China less with access to my kernel because they know what they can get away with and not be held accountable by the US government. At least the NSA can’t legally fuck with me unless I take my computer overseas. Regardless I don’t like the situation and it’s a bit of a deal breaker for me.

The TTK reminds me of Titanfall 2 and it took a while to get used to since I stopped playing FPS games three years ago. I dislike the junky real solution with snipers is to snipe them back instead of DMRs since the lens glare works in their favor at times and the DMRs simply don’t pack the same punch and doesn’t provide enough flinch to get their aim off target. It’s an easily patchable nuisance.

I’ll talk about what I like. I only played breakthrough and one match of domination. This game is a breath of fresh air compared to V and reminds me a little of BC2. I like the new class system and not having weapons restricted to a class. Recon with assault rifles was fun to play with. The limited ammo for assault is a little frustrating but it forces support players and does stop an onslaught of assault players just overwhelming an objective like BC2 and 3 had. I like that support does both ammo and revives. Want to be a team player? You’ll get rewarded handsomely for it. Engineer feels like the same old class before but the rockets feel a little weaker which is probably a good thing.

I did enjoy seeing a teammate rage about teammates sniping while on defense for the mountain map. Reminded me of the good old days of Battlefield.

I would be on board buying this on release but the anti-cheat worries me too much even though I only use windows for games. If I can’t figure out how regenerate keys for Grub then I’m not going to bother buying.

I love that the shotgun is god tier.
Apparently they’re nerfing the shotgun. Hopefully it’s just a range or rate of fire nerf and it still one shots (and is accurate hip fired) because otherwise, what’s the point?

I don’t envy the developers, just browsing Xitter for a few minutes and you run into wholly contradictory suggested changes including some of the most retarded dogshit you’ve ever read. Also, COD transplants guntguarding troons using obvious cheats

I got annoyed getting insta-killed by the shotgun and when my old ass used it, it was very hit-or-miss. Who knows what they’ll do with it. I thought the grenade launcher was extremely underwhelming compared to older titles.

Activision has long turned a blind eye to streaming cheaters and only cares if they show up to an in-person event and check their machines occasionally to make sure they aren’t cheating. After watching videos showing Nadia and Symfuhny hacking, I’ve completely accepted CoD doesn’t cater to the average player anymore. Activision has the power to stop this but won’t because somehow they think streamers help them and their game out.

Hell Let Loose ate BFV's lunch when they pissed off the history autists
I highly doubt "history autists" were excited for BF for it's historical accuracy, same with milsim autists, so I doubt Hell Let Loose took much of BFV's lunch consider said lunch since not only was it not something history autists were into, it was already repulsive enough to keep anyone who wasn't a complete niggercattle away outside of free weekends and sales.
Battlebit remastered also got an update trailer last month.
Too little too late, now those devs ate BF's lunch but couldn't make their own. There truly needs to be a case study for how you can gain so much attention and goodwill only to do nothing except occasionally shit on your own product before going back to doing nothing again.

They made one meaningless trailer for an update and then back to radio silence. It wouldn't kill them to put out a few dev diaries or whatever, do they think they can pull a NMS and crawl out of the grave? The conditions for that game to rise from the ashes of it's own failure were perfect, this is the worst time for Battlebit to try and make a comeback.

The only case somewhat similar in my mind is FFXIV’s player numbers dropping off a cliff after the WOW migrant boom due to the terrible expansion they released after and an accompanying content drought. But even then, battlebit’s fall off is astronomically worse.

I played bf1 almost exclusively for operations.
100% agree on operations being gemmy, though given the lack of a historical pastiche in BF6, it would have lost some of the appeal in presentation from BF1 (though gameplay could still be fun). Also unique to BF1 were cavalries, which I loved using to rape the scoreboard (and they’re perfectly balanced because you can just one shot them with the AT Gun, the average player was just too dogshit to do so).
