1. TTK seems a little fast. I might just be getting old though.
Maybe I'm used to HLL and Squad, but the pace is blisteringly fast. Probably the minority opinion but I sort of hope they reduce the pace just slightly. Feels like you need to be on Ritalin to know wtf is going on most of the time.

BF6 and 2042 are very different.
No they fucking arent, they are both fast paced games that have the exact same movement and lack of weight that makes me feel like I'm playing a game with cartoon physics. Bf3 Bf4 hardline and bf1 all feel realistic. All they did was remove the gay voicelines and make soldiers look like soldiers wearing helmets and masks.

Game is WAY more fun if you can get a full squad of people you actually know and have everyone on mic. Just the 4 of us completely carried the team it seemed like, working together communicating and actually playing the objectives.

I know what you mean, but BF1 is absolutely not realistic in any sense of the word. Let's not go there again.
It wasn’t realistic but if you want realism, you play Tannenberg or Verdun. I thought it was still fun and was a nice break from the large amounts of modern warfare FPS games of the time. Battlefield at its best cuts a good balance between realism and gameplay. They should have put more thoughts into artillery and gas mechanics. I liked BF1 for what it was although the removal of dedicated servers and weapon customization, the Bedouin woman war story and the monetization were clear indicators of future problems.

Who is this guy and why does what he said matter?

Someone earlier in the thread that BF1 was not a proper WW1 game but a WW1-themed Battlefield and that's the appropriate way to approach it.

I can believe SBMM is on. Every time I go to repair a friendly APC/Tank, these niggers zoom away from me or into the middle of the captured point then get bombarded with C4 and RPGs over and over again.

I also feel like I'm getting flashbacks to battlefield 1943

maybe its time for you to buy a console.
for Multiplayer games, Console is a better option at this point, cheating not just in BF but pretty much any other game has gotten a point where even kernel level anti-cheats have trouble detecting them sometimes (and those suck because at the kernel levels these game companies are able to operate as a peeping tom) I wish that wasnt the case but Xbox and PlayStation's closed ecosystems are at least good for something I guess, (Cross-Play should have a console only option though which some games do)

this, BF1 is my favorite BF game for a reason, they definitely had to stretch the imagination in terms of the weapon tech being used (SMGs certainly werent used in any capacity during World War I even in 1918 but pretty much going any time period before World War II is almost impossible for FPS games

Reminder that we'll probably never get a good BF game without at least a million caveats. Kernal level anti-cheat that doesn't mean shit to a dedicated hacker, "woke" (left wing) propaganda, generally inferior to the classics because hundreds of modern game developers have 1% of the talent of previous game developers, I could go on. Like I think Cyrus said, BF1 was the last good BF game.

Agreed, if I wanted a milsim I'd play Arma 3 again.

There's a lot of insight on certain forums dedicated to cheating and whatnot regarding how kernal level anti-cheats works and how they're bypassed. Not going to pretend to know or even remember some of the finer details but this shit was at least somewhat figured out for years now. IIRC Secure boot has been spoofed already I believe, anti-cheats won't do shit even on that level if it doesn't recognize what tools are being used to cheat unless said tools are very similar to what is already detectable. Another reason why a lot of working cheats are paywalled and obfuscated to hell and back behind a closed source. Again, not an expert and I'm definitely getting something wrong but that's just how I understand it.

That argument would work if 1942 played like a modern Battlefield game, but it didn't. They actually managed to work with the limitations of the time period and create a unique balance not really seen in later games, not even in BF5 which takes place in WW2. BF1 was a perfect opportunity to try that again and focus on unconventional warfare like bolt-actions rifles for infantry and limiting vehicles to mostly horses, there is so much you could do with a WW1 game you cannot do in any other Battlefield game and it would work perfectly with the game's formula.

Why are all these retards making excuses for a mediocre asset flip I will never know, and here I thought the COD fanbase copes were pathetic.

Of all the things to copy from MW2019, it's SBMM lmfao

Wrong, games like Isonzo prove that incorrect. More accurately, the IQ of your average Battlefield player is too low to do anything more than rush with an automatic weapon, so they would cry if they were forced to use a weapon that requires skill(like a heavy machine gun with maybe 20 rounds in it or a bolt action rifle). Games like this were done, it's just that DICE are hacks, especially nu-DICE and they know their fanbase(ie dumbasses). Plus, EA isn't paying them to put out an actually well designed and balanced FPS, they are paying them to put out a COD competitor that steals as much information out of your computer as possible and gets the players to buy as many microtransactions as they can. Battlefield 1 will always be the king of wasted potential and anyone who defends it on any capacity worships mediocrity(nigger cattle personified, ect.).

I think people straight up don't look at the map.

I was playing KOTH for the first time today and trying recon for a bit. I was planting TUGS down where people can clearly see the enemy when the move but were still getting gunned down.

The "initiation" modes being restricted to only level 15 and lower, and still insisting on giving you player opponents, sucks. Just give me my AI modes like 2042, thanks. People that want PvP already have their PvP game modes and they have already been the focus forever, leave me alone.

This is the one thing 2042 did better and I don't know why they are walking away from it. Well that and the menu to change attachments mid-game was pretty sweet too and I dunno why that is gone.

I am sure this stance is going to get a LOT of hate which, fair enough. If anyone has suggestions for a BF-sorta game but PvE (meaning, exclusively against AI or, at most, with humans only on my team), I am all ears. I'd love to know because to my knowledge there ain't shit. I even tried Googling "Battlefield style games PvE" and all the results are just how great 2042 did this. Say what you want about 2042 but it nailed this niche.

Edit: Yes I am aware of SPT for Tarkov and I enjoy it quite a lot. Just doesn't hit quite the same itch as BF games.

The indie and AA companies will eventually fill in the gaps. Hell Let Loose ate BFV's lunch when they pissed off the history autists and people who had family who fought in WW2. MW2019 also stole the AAA spotlight for realism as well.

The smaller studios have problems and aren't perfect ,but I'm looking forward to 83 if BF6 fails.

Battlebit remastered also got an update trailer last month.

Edit: Based on popular demand, It looks like I'm pre-ordering BF6

I feel like I'm going crazy with all the praise this heap of shit is getting. Map design is awful. Attackers will lose 95% of Breakthrough matches unless they're placed in the designated retard shithead queue when skill-based matchmaking determines they've lost enough times, and even that isn't a guaranteed win because every point you need to capture has 9 different ways for Defenders to push in and fuck you. You're constantly killed by an unseen enemy that just happened to sprout behind you. The maps are just way too chaotic to try and mount any sort of coherent strategy. Sniper 1-shot kills in the chest are a nightmare, every team in Liberation Peak has 10+ recoons, which means you're constantly auto-marked so the enemy knows your location at all times. And the twitch based movement is straight out of Call of Duty. If this is Battlefield "being back" then maybe I lost the plot somewhere.

Is the "Attackers are fucked in Breakthrough" deal in BF6 just as bad as when Hourglass and Kaleidoscope in 2042 had rooftop objectives on their final sectors, making them also almost impossible to win on Attack?

Oh, and when you go to mess around with your weapon attachments. Why do I have to first hit modify... then customize? Can we just get a dedicated button to go right to weapon customization? Not only that, but what do they think we want when we have a weapon selected, then hit modify? That we actually want a buffer just to really make sure we want to change stuff around?
You can right click on the weapon to go directly to the attachment customization section
