Somehow, an alpha state for a yet-to-be-released game is higher than 2042 if you are going by twitch metrics. Also, I've noticed that it is fucking lower than the first Dark Souls, World of Tanks and Heroes of the Storm! When an abandoned game has more viewers than your 2021 trainwreck, you know something smells like dogshit on a golden plate that is DICE.

It's an absolute shitshow now, as to all of the games that have more viewers than BF2042, even a fucking racing game (as IIRC, those types of games aren't that popular in terms of streaming) has more viewers at this moment:

And the player count continues to tumble in similar fashion as well:

When the game gets to the point that even Fallout 76 has more viewers on Twitch...
To give some context, that game's been going through a content drought since the Steel Dawn update in July. Interest in the game has fallen until Expeditions or the next big update arrives (assuming that Microsoft doesn't pull the plug and devote resources elsewhere, time will tell what they want to do with Fallout), so seeing a new Battlefield title have less viewers than that so soon after launch is rather devastating.

I've been back to playing BF4 on my PS5, it's still got a solid player base and it honestly shits all over 2042.

It's a shame BF1 doesn't have more players, I can usually find a game but it's always the same players and they seem to have been playing it since release so they're a level of skill above me.

EA and DICE finally ended their silence in regards to BF2042's state, and said that XP Changes to Portal, a Scoreboard, and VOIP, will be added back to the game in the future.

Unfortunately, the scoreboard still looks amateur at best, given that it isn't split up by teams, and it does not show the player deaths and ping on it. And VOIP will take months to be implemented, but will people still be playing the game then?

EA and DICE will also be rolling out a patch tomorrow, where the movement hampering when getting shot by 30mm cannons will be removed, and the game crashing issue for Radeon VII users when Sundance is on the screen, will supposedly be fixed. Unfortunately, it doesn't include fixes to the loadout bug (despite DICE saying that it was fixed), the revive bug is happening again (despite DICE fixing it in a previous patch), and the being unable to ADS after exiting a vehicle bug.

On Xbox, BF4 is dead. BF1 has a fair bit of players, mainly with Operations and Team Deathmatch. BFV, aside from Firestorm, is the most populated.

Didn't Hardline fail to meet sales expectations? Granted, it was more of that they branded a Cops & Robbers game with the Battlefield name, and the game could have done better if it was it's own separate or side IP.
it was also released in spring between 4 and battlefront with an asking price of $60 + premium tip, while being considered a glorified bf4 dlc.

I still believe if they'd had it released in fall as a mainline title people would have bought it just for being "the next battlefield", same way retards buy "the next cod" no matter what. ironically it would've primed people to a higher standard, from what I remember release was pretty flawless and gameplay itself solid enough (ymmv) that it didn't require constant post-launch attention like the shit dice sweden craps out (bf1 being the big exception to the rule for some reason).

Are you imply Titanfall 1 was a bad game? Oh come on...
or anthem (after it got fixed)

This is the reward for this week's Weekly Challenge, which again is scraping the absolute bottom barrel:

And apparently the new patch also somehow fucked up the Renewal map for the last-gen consoles, because DICE removed from the map from the map pool:

I liked Hardline a lot. Cops and robbers in video game form was pretty damn awesome. So many people bitch about the infantry focus then go and join a 24/7 operation locker server.

When they release new battlefields so often, do in-game rewards even matter? By the time you've wasted the required time to collect everything, a new version is going to come out.

YMMV, but Hardline felt like Call of Duty while Call of Duty was going all futuristic. I applaud Visceral for adding a twist to the modern military shooter trope.
