greater invisibility- your stealth/dex should be out of this world anyway, and the earlier progressive checks are a joke due to the inability to roll under 10, then stack it with Passing Without a Trace
Shame you can't cast concentrate on invisibility and Pass Without a Trace at the same time. The best you could do is a party of 3 rogues actually fighting and the fourth member maintaining PWaT and drinking an invisibility potion.
In fact, I wonder about how the old Alignment system would work with the main cast of characters.
Astarion - Chaotic, leaning evil - scared, mean and selfish but not a monster. Can shift to hard evil or Chaotic neutral depending on events.
Gale - Weak Neutral Good, basically like 80% of humanity, his hearts in the right place, but recklessness is neither good nor evil.
Halsin - True Neutral - Like all bears and other mindless impulse driven animals.
Karlach - (weak) Lawful Neutral, she's protected and fought for some real scumbags, and despite being a superficially wholesome redditchungus, she treats tormented souls as a powerup. The only reason I don't kill her for the robe is I need someone to turn squid.
Laezel - Lawful (weak) evil, she's devoted to the twisted moral standards of Gith culture, but never cruel for cruelties sake. Becomes nicer when she realises the truth about Vlaakith.
Minthara - Lawful Good (Duh! she's a paladin, of course she must be LG) And her ideas for society, diversity and the homeless are Canada tier 'progressive'.
Shadowheart - (weak) Neutral Evil- She's furthered the goals of an evil goddess and enjoys torturing people, but she's also kind to children and animals. Becomes weak neutral good if redeemed.
Wyll - Lawful good, his biggest character flaw is being retardly self-sacrificing.
Unlike a DOS2 run where I think the best experience is using Origin characters
Fane is the Durge of DoS2, it's his story.

Yeah, definitely would have been crazy to self-maintain so it makes sense not to allow it for balance- I generally go for duo runs though I've been focusing on better optimized routing for solo recently, and the benefit of PWaT+GI on a high dex character is to just jump in with your PWaT caster in the back and eliminate threats singlehandedly before being detected, after which you just send in your other character to help sweep up that which remains.

I'm doing a second playthrough, just going back to my very first save and replaying since I decided not to make a new character.

My Tavitha looks so young!

I might not use the tadpoles this time just for the hell of it, but I kinda miss flying...

I think, time depending, I might try to do an stealthy solo run. Lots of invisibility, much roguish fun.
I've not completed mine yet, I'm level 6 and doing routing practice on another save to figure out what I want to go for next, but it is a TON of fun. Someone I know successfully completed a solo thief run and it was insane, you're in for a treat.

Something I tried recently (with cheats). I started a new game and immediately ran to Minthara. Didn't even join the fight at the gate where the goblins were attacking the grove. I just generated a bunch of invisibility bots and ran straight to the goblin camp and talked to Minthara about raiding the grove.

This kinda broke the sequence of events because, when I returned to the grove, the thieflings treated me like we'd already met and become friends. Really funny.

I did a solo duergar durge assassin gloomstalker until early act 2 tactician.
Extremely powerful on the first turn, then you need to run away. Not that fun to be honest, as it was a bit gamey.

Theorycrafting, maybe the ideal party for this would be:
One lvl 6 Wildheart barbarian with the +Dex to stealth bonus. They'll also cast PWaT with Oliver's ring. (No rage, unfortunately, as it'll break concentration) You'll give a potentially +16 bonus to stealth to everyone by act 3. 1+ rogue for sneak specialisation
a Sorceror to twincast invisibility , with a rogue level for sneak specialisation
two Sword Bards of your choice, who cast g. invisibility on themselves.

I'm about to finish my 2nd (full) honor mode run shortly. I've probably done about 7 runs by now with 5 fully completed. I've done a few with my bf and a couple solo, with the last one almost done now. I started a few character and leveled them to about 5 but didn't fully commit.

I'm a big fan of this game for quite a few reasons. I've always been down for DnD but it was hard to visualize combat which was always my favorite part. The fact this game has a story and romance is a side thing, but those aspects are not terrible.

I'm kind of over it for now though. Its been fun for sure but I feel like I did most of the quest stuff and playing as the origin characters doesn't interest me much. I don't think they're particularly interesting.

I've played tiefling paladin, halfing warlock, half elf bard, tiefling (durge) sorcerer, duergar rogue, duergar paladin and lastly human (durge) sorcerer.

Actually I should add on to what I said prior. I hear rumors Larian might add mod support for consoles, which would increase my playtime substantially depending on how they do that.

I'm crossing my fingers they add mods for console in patch 7. It's bothered me so much I've considered just buying it again for pc and playing it there, as I've gotten so much mileage (300+ hours by this point) I feel like its almost worth buying the game again (like I have with monster hunter world, jet set radio and a few others of my all time favorites).

New patch is coming with new cinematics for Durge and some of the first official mod tools.

I need to hurry up or my saves will be broken again.
I'm finally doing Durge playthrough, and it's really good, I regret not picking it on my first playthrough. Picked draconic sorcerer for that run, I absolutely love that class.
I also saved Minthara by knocking her out in act 1, seems like everything works fine with her recruitment. Her voice actress did great job, I might start dragging her around just for that voice.
This playthrough, I noticed something I did not last time that made me dislike Karlach even more, namely, how everyone is simping for her. Minthara expresses her annoyance at Wyll being goody two shoes but of course she's not that harsh with Karlach. Lae'zel who views kindness as weakness of course only talks how great of a fighter Karlach is. Really wish I didn't need that red creature to become mind flayer...
New playthrough also reminded me how uncannily prevalent same sex couples are, especially among gnomes. The only heterosexual gnome in Sword Coast appears to be my Durge. Weirdest thing is, while every other note or environmental dialogue, there is mention of gay couple, there are only few that get cutscenes or actual dialogue, and only one that's really visible is Aylin and Isobel. It's like they were fulfilling a quota and had little interest in writing same sex relationships.
Speaking of Aylin, I downloaded Sir Aylin mod, can't wait to see it in action. Don't remember if it was mentioned in thread, Yedlike hosts and updates it on SubscribeStar.

Haven't seen this posted here but:

Following the 2024 BAFTA awards ceremony, Eugene Evans, senior vice president of Digital Strategy and Licensing for Wizards of the Coast, and its owner Hasbro, confirmed that the company was currently planning for a new entry in the Baldur’s Gate series. (Thanks PC Gamer.) With Baldur’s Gate III’s developer and publisher, Larian Studios, moving away from the series with its next title, Wizards and Hasbro will now need to look elsewhere for a creator for its next title in the D&D series.

“We’re now talking to lots of partners and being approached by lots of partners,” confirmed Evans. Though the Wizards representative hopes that “it’s not another 25 years,” until a new Baldur’s Gate game is released - as it was between the release of Baldur’s Gate II and III - the company will not proceed any further with the project until they “find the right partner, the right approach, and the right product that could represent the future of Baldur’s Gate.”
