Oh, so they DIDN'T completely change the storyline from the events surrounding the Bhaalspawn to a random fuckoff adventure with Mind Flayers? And they didn't change the real time with pause gameplay into pure turn based?

Because they literally did both of these things. The only thing this game has in common with the others is the setting, the name, and the fact that they shoved in some memberberries like Minsc and Boo despite the fact that he should have died like 100 years ago but they just decided, nah they got turned into statues because we need a memberberry!

You are free to hate the game, but this was accckshually something some people disliked, ACT3 brings back Baal, but not Mephisto nor Diablo. And you can whip out your Baals from the start with the Dark Urge character. There is a lot of things you can yell at, big butch angel, tranny circus person, tranny Toob the cultist, but lack of Baalls is not one of them.

Nexus is cancer so I can't link images or download them, but BG3 is fixed. Best companion can now be summoned. Waiting for the mod which adds Donkey.

This is what's funny about people whining about this game. It gives quite a bit of leeway to make of it what you will, but most of the complaints are about that it offers choices they just don't like.

Like damn niggas, just play the plot your way then. Be a muderhobo who kills all the gays.

Just beat the game, scattered thoughts below.

The final fight isn't fun. It's just annoying between the mind flayers, the dragon and the Dream Guardians who can push you off the fucking brain. I think it's dumb that allies can't follow you through the portal but I ended up not really needing them in there anyway. Interestingly enough, on the save where I finally beat the brain, I didn't get around to killing the Emperor. He was still alive when everyone went through the portal.

At first I told Lae'zel to stay with me, but apparently this results in Orpheus killing himself, so I reloaded and pursuaded him to live. Sucks that you can only have one and not the other but at least Lae'zel shows up at the party.

Astarion getting burned by the sun scared the shit out of me and for a second I seriously thought he was going to die. The other companions having such an uncaring "welp there he goes" reaction felt weird,

I must've went wrong with Gale somewhere along the way, because he ended up leaving to claim the crown despite me telling him not to. Stubborn bastard. Anyone know the surefire way to get him to give up on it?

Was a little worried about Karlach at first but I told her to go to Avernus with Wyll. I liked their friendship.

The epilogue is a very nice - and smart - addition. I definitely understand why people weren't satisfied with the ending before it was put in. Withers/Jergal basically telling the Dead Three to go fuck themselves at the end was the cherry on top.

Overall, I loved it. I'll probably jump into my next playthrough tomorrow.

Just beat the game, I have to say I love what they did with Jaheira, pissed off cranky elf grandma from the old country is a very fun character to have around.

Also I never found Gale or Lae'zel so I assume we all celebrated and then got nuked a few days later

Still playing Honor Mode with Babarian Lae'zel. Just finished killing all the goblins at the camp in Act I. I knocked out Minthara, but only after I had killed Gut and Dror Ragzlin. I'm hoping she still respawns in Act II, but the tooltip underneath the knockout debuff has me concerned...

Never tried that myself. Probably means the debuff; however, a lot of npcs will disappear after a long rest when knocked out. So, good luck.
If you're trying to have her live and save the grove, there is a specific way to do it iirc. It's not intended...I believe.

It's fine. I also knocked her out and slaughtered every other goblinoid inside. A few long rests later I came back to do the underdark and she was standing alone in the main hallway in her underwear, oblivious to the dead bodies around her, and ready to go attack the grove. Despite this, she still showed up in Act 2 and was recruitable if you choose to save her.

We'll see, I guess. I knocked her out after she became hostile because I killed Dror Ragslin first (which causes everything to become hostile).

Unrelated, but for the honor run, I'm thinking of turning Wyll into one of these machine gun Eldritch Blast Sorlocks. Seems OP af.

Just finished the game and it left me with a lot of mixed feelings.

For a game called 'Baldur's Gate' you barely spend a lot of time there. I really like the city. It felt very lived in. You barely get time to use all the legendary gear you get. I only used Ansur's sword once since I did the dragon quest last.

When The Emperor was revealed to be Balduran, the founder of Balder's Gate, I could've cared less. If Act 2 took place in the city, you would've understood his importance and it would have more of an impact since it would be a fall from grace story. I wish we had more time with Minsc and Jaheira too. They were really fun too, especially with Durge.

I was surprised that the owl bear cub we had grew up so fast. Is there an explanation for it in game? I volunteered Shadowheart to take him since she seemed kind of lonely. Talking to Wyll during the epilogue really made me wish they kept his original backstory where he was a fraud. We could've helped him become a true hero or something. It would've felt more earned. I only kept him around for the rapier you could get in Act 2. I might just do a new playthrough to see what kind of letter Barcus sends you if he becomes the new leader of the Ironhand gnomes.

How did you tell him off? I told him that the power would make him worse and that the crown should be destroyed whenever the subject came up. I avoided the options that mentioned Mystra's wrath and defying the gods. Even at the end at the docks I told him to just avoid the crown all together. During the epilogue though, he gave the crown to Mystra even though I told him not too.

Was Dammon one of your allies too? Cuz he mentions using potions on the owlbear cub and I assumed that was the reason why. And how do you make Barcus the leader of the Ironhands? I've seen people mention this but never anything about it being possible in the game itself. When does it first crop up?

I was kinda wishy-washy with how I talked to Gale throughout the game tbh, and I'm pretty sure that's where I messed up. I didn't want to earn too much disapproval with him by constantly saying no, so I think there were a couple times where I agreed with him about the crown holding promise; I know I chose one option in support of it in Act 3 after he got an attitude with me over trying to dissuade him at first. I also didn't exactly trust Mystra and IIRC I tried to convince Gale that he didn't need her controlling his life. I'm doing a bit of research on this and it sounds like the dialogue you have with Gale before he meets with Mystra plays a large part in his ending. I think my mistake was telling him something along the lines of sticking to his guns and not showing he was intimidated by her.

So in retrospect, I guess it makes sense that Gale giving the crown to Mystra is the best outcome for him, since she removes his orb and all.

And how do you make Barcus the leader of the Ironhands?

At the end of the save the Gondians quest and you defeat the hellfire watchers, Wulbren and the Ironhands come to check out what happened. He gets pissed off you didn't kill the Gondians and threatens the blind gnome guy. You can either tell Wulbren to fuck off or persuade Barcus to become the new leader. I told him to fuck off and Barcus still chases after that prick which is why I got a shitty letter.

As for Gale, when Mystra wanted to talk to him I told Gale to just play it cool and try to get her to tell him what she really wants. Being mean to Gale is really funny. He's way more petty than Astarion. Besides, on a good run you'll still have a high approval rating anyways.

Huh, I don't recall there being an option for Barcus, but either my memory is shit or I told Wulbren to fuck off too. Thanks though.

I've never been outright mean to Gale but yeah I've noticed he can get really passive aggressive and is childishly stubborn. I guess I was just paranoid.

oof, she needs to be Knocked Out (Temporary) AFAIK
basically to get minty:
1. Make sure she's temporarily hostile
2. Attack the eye or the steal something in front of her.
3. do not talk to her at all
4. Kill Dror Ragzlin last, because if he dies first, everyone are hostile.

Whichever fucking one where mystra died again to cause the spellplague that nerfed magic in 4E. Whatever I don't give a shit.
Since you know the fucking chronology. Can you tell everyone when 5E started?

Spoilers: It's not in 1400 DR. Probably.
I know you zoomers have trouble with attention spans but an event that happened in 4E probably took place after an event that took place in 2E which as you should expect was an edition that came out before the first BG which came out a long time before DnD the MMO the board game edition also known as 4E.

No, I can't, because I stopped paying attention to D&D when that faggy ass 4th edition came out.
Anyway, my point being I thought I was going to get a proper sequel to the older games. Once I found out this was not the case it killed most of my interest in it. Then when they decided to chase the degenerate coombrain and LGBTfaggot audience it nuked whatever interest I had left.

It's sickening to me. All of these years we have been treated like trash and had everything we enjoyed turned into rainbow sludge in the name of (((progress))). Now the same thing happens to BG3, a game that looks rather average mechanically and is a nuclear mess of fags, trannies and Seattle Starbucks activists that are self-inserts for the diversity hires that made this pile of trash.

For some reason because it has one or two more dialog options than a shitty Bethesda game it is the greatest thing ever made and it's apparently too good for us mortals, so much so that everyone forgave this sorry excuse for a fantasy adventure where everyone talks and looks like a Portland hipster and saying the word "gender" will get you thrown in the gulag. Who the hell is going to get pissed on for the 100th time and suddenly decide they enjoy it and say "I'm a good goy please piss on me more master, call me a white devil again". Apparently a lot of faggots, a lot of faggots that probably only know the fantasy genre from watching absolute drek like Game of Thrones.

Act III and Act II should have been reversed somehow. There was a kind of finality to Act II when you're delving deep into Moonrise and you fight with Myrkul. After that, heading into the actual city feels weird because you feel both compelled to explore the city but at the same time the game is constantly reminding you that the Absolute is about to wreck everything to shit.
