My brief list of Bad webcomic traits i see way too much:

-art and speech that will be dated in 3 months
-no plot beyond soapboxing
-if you remove the speech bubbles the illustrations make no sense aka the panels are there just to look pretty and yknow, not convey actual story
-author takes themselves too seriously
-i can excuse bad art especially from newbies but some take it too far (this does not apply for sonic themed cartoons because.. reasons)
-poor paneling that either makes no sense or the gutter itself just looks bad. Idk why but this bothers me
-over dramatica
-that one 2000s webcomic style that involves busty women with strange hair dye, a cliche fantasy setting and fantastic plastic esque rendering with unharmonized, clashy colors
-furry but its either just anime girls with whiskers and ears or the jarring semi cartoon style that somehow always ends up having a sideblog for obscure fetish content
-being floraverse or assigned male
-“I have depression and all my gags revolve around Life beating me haha” the comic
-relateable
-gamer humor
-please for the love of god use an actual comic font. You cant go wrong with Backissues, you cant go right with helvetica. If thats too mainstream then make your own font, its basically free
-people who dont announce their hiatus, and they dont spend their hiatus actually creating new content. Like if you vanish for 5 months at least toss a little bonus content at the audience when they get back
-people who pride themselves in being a webcomic guru because they have a Patreon and get views, but the actual comic is 4 panels a week, hack garbage that anyone could make
- and then they complain that it is such hard work while if you look at publisher standards many people make far more complex pages once a day without whining

Sorry I’m passionate about comics and this little niche industry is filled with hot messes
Somehow you forgot to mention the biggest one, general inability to understand storytelling, whether it comes to creating a story that's interesting or makes sense in the first place, or making it work in comic format.

Just look at the worst comics out there. Struggling to connect the plot, to convey it, to portray it visually and not trough text dumps. You can make even a simplistic story work well if you can deliver it in a good way, and then you can butcher some brilliant concepts even more easily.

Anybody up for some awful, hateful, genderspecial comics? How dare those boring, useless not-special cissies not realize how superior gendersnowflakes are?

(Also gib patreonbux plz)

Featuring a smug, unlikable toothpaste-haired individual. (All the cis people are plain gray because they are so boring and un-special, you see).

The rare FtM cartoonist. Mostly known for a comic demanding feminine hygiene products be made in "manly" designs like dinosaurs. Loves Sophie Labelle and like her is an Islamophile who sees literal Nazis everywhere. Doesn't realize Sophie would
have her Muslims throw his ass off a building for being a trans man.

The absolute bare minimum effort by a "Nonbinary" from the UK who balances her time between drawing this stuff, and reeing demands for universal basic income. It's basically just a girl terrorizing everyone who won't call her "they" and getting offended if others prefer normal pronouns. Also each strip comes with a "DO NOT EDIT" warning. Ordinarily that means I'd edit the hell out of it and post it from one end of the web to the other, but it's just so damn boring it's not worth the effort.

Aren't a lot of the wrappers just blank though?
Or with random shapes and colors. Infact Kotex launched a whole new pad and tampon line some years back that notably lacked all the frilly girly designs. Some of the wrappers are still pink and purple though. Not gender neutral enough I guess.

Also wtf is that on his head. Hair? A hat? A wad of chewed gum?

I feel as if a lot of people who encountered gendersparkles in the wild and were otherwise trying to be well-meaning towards them would be able to relate to this for reasons that go over the author's head.

Imagine having so few problems in life that you actually care what design a pad wrapper has. A wrapper that's going straight into the garbage after being opened.

Imagine being this author, raising awareness for "superhero prints pls" it while ignoring the fact women in some countries not only don't even have these, but get forced to live in exile during the course where they may lack food an are prone to attack. But hey, snappy sharks!

LOL that was quick:

Shit, that toothpaste character makes Steph look pleasant by comparison. I swear, the fuss people make over "gender reveal" parties. I think some people make them a wee too cutesy for my tastes, but whatever, it's all just for, you know, fun? If in the rare event, your kid ends up being trans later on, you can deal with it then -- you don't have to start worrying about your kid turning out to have gender

(Funny enough, some people at the comic's facebook page are saying, "quit making a big fuss, if some day the kid's trans, you can always have another party -- more cake!" And guess what -- most of those people are trans. It's the cis idiots who are complaining)

Funny you should mention Islam. Believe it or not, at least in Iran, trans people are being treated better than gay people -- in fact, often times gay people are given a choice of jail time or a sex change operation. How messed up is THAT?

I mean there's also the problem of homeless and women with low income not being able to afford pads, but no we need dinosaurs on them like a 5 year old wants dinosaurs on his underwear. The fancy wrapping won't up the cost of them I'm sure.

You know, toilet paper also predominantly comes only in generic and floral patterns. And yet, we don't see people complain about it, even though it's a unisex product and as the wise social justice webcomics have taught us, men are super sensitive about their masculinity and will tear up if forced to touch a product that has pink or flowers on it.

.
The last yaoi one I saw was refreshingly naive and straight-forward, a juvenile delinquent emo gets fucked by a one-eyed cowboy. It's nostalgic, because where do you still find emos and Broke Back Mountain references these days? I wouldn't call it good, but it's not on the bad webcomics list yet: Spurs and Stripes

I knew exactly what it was and I started reading this anyway. I'm like 4 chapters in and Kylee (literally a girls name only, even if he claims its gender neutral) is still an obnoxious little faggot. Who the hell paints their nails before going to do yard work.
