power level: ive been an RN and CSW now for 30 odd years, and regarding Barb, she's a tough one to figure out. ive had doubts about her having dementia, even though she presents with a mix of that and Parkinsons disease.
in the UK in her situation she would be kept in a long stay ward, until an Adult Without incapacity form would have to be signed by two doctors specialising in elder care, then social work dept would be assigned Guardianship, which they would have to 1) have control over her medical needs. 2) financial guardianship.
this would be as she has no other family, willing to do so. this is a long laborious procedure, and in NHS terms would be a bed blocker.
most patients during this, can pass away, because of being even being away from a home they have spent most of their lives in, before being moved on to a care home.
I mean im no doubting the chap who went to the house. if they have discharged her home, imo she must be competent. I don't know what services are like in the US, for supporting care at home. but to me it suggests that she is competent, and can refuse any more medical care.
ach i dunno, but I don't understand in my theory, if she didn't consent, why aren't they're been rape charges yet.
I may have missed that, im trying to keep up.this is the first time ive discussed this coz Chris is just a disgusting cumsock that's not sentient anymore, lol

The only thing I'd say to keep in mind is that the immense stress from the PTSD can cause a lot of adverse side effects (for example, it could cause a heart attack). So yea she can't be PTSD'd to death, but the stress can lead to death (which could, in a way, make the PTSD her cause of death).

To be fair, cheap, precooked food tend to be unhealthy and fattening as hell, and Chris is a cheapskate with anything that isn't worthless toys or vidya, plus a lazy moron. While it seems counterintuitive, you can be poor as dirt and still be a fat fuck nowadays.

Not that I disagree with you about Chris lying about needing money, though.

There is no confirmation however there is little reason to doubt the story. A ween took pictures of the van with replacement plates at the house. There is no reason to believe Barb is not also at the house. There would be no reason to get the plates replaced unless Barb planned on driving the van.

He was already trespassing and couldn't snap a picture of her? And then said "hi, Barb" and she was perfectly fine with greeting some weirdo at her lawn? Something doesn't add up. Remember, first we had call and texts, the latter turned out to be fake. Maybe, he indeed took pictures, but the rest is not true.

Otherwise, it makes very little sense. If Barb was functioning enough, why didn't she call the cops? Because she was ok with it? AFAIK, she isn't charged with incest, so she probably wasn't. Then why she is back home and even presumably drove a car with new plates? She is dysfunctional enough to call the cops, but not enough to drive a car?

Maybe car was transported by someone else and she was let home because authorities don't give a fuck, I don't know. If this is true I wonder what's gonna happen to the charges.

Barb did not call the cops.
barb is at 14BC with the van as far as we know. There is no conspiracy, the ween saw barb, was surprised to see her there and freaked out a bit. They were probably all nervous and jittery to begin with.
The van has new plates, which means Barb is probably driving it infrequently but enough that she paid for new plates.
She most likely drove it home herself.

This could mean Barbara was found at least able to somewhat care for herself, and with Chris still in custody, it could mean she sold Chris up the river. Could mean an adult protective services agent has been assigned to check in on barb too.

Doubtful APS is involved. There is a huge disconnect between law enforcement and social services (one of the reasons we need major police reform in this country). Criminals are treated as criminals and victims are largely ignored except for their contribution to a criminal case. This does not mean that APS is not involved (possibly due to "Financial exploitation") but even if they are it is not a guarantee that she is getting any ongoing support or attention. The exploitation has been resolved, Barb is home, all is well as far as the state is concerned.

What's going to stop barb letting Chris live with her again? Both are not right in the head. I imagine Chris being Chris will somehow broadcast his living situation and it will get reported instantly, but this whole situation is fucked. The horde is going to most likely collapse on barb and entomb her.

I'm the guy who posted that. slimz is correct in saying the reason I didn't take a photo was because I was freaked the fucked out, not only by seeing Barb IRL but also by seeing Barb at the house when everyone thought she was still in the hospital. This whole interaction lasted maybe 7 seconds. Snapping a photo of her in that moment was not on my mind. Here is the original post.

At the time they arrested him, they'd just begun their investigation. They knew about nothing about the case other than incest occurred, and maybe had no probable cause. They're obviously going to investigate more thoroughly before/if they're going to charge someone with a crime second only to murder in severity.

There also hasn't even been a preliminary hearing, so that's really their deadline to bring felony charges, because if they don't (and for some reason don't charge the incest count as a felony), the case won't go to a grand jury, which is necessary to indict for felonies in Virginia. So they're likely to bring any extra charges on or slightly before September 16.
 
I would like to chime in with what @slimz has been saying.

I delt with a few elders, if barb had a UTI it can make women goofy.

Also hes right peoples mental state can totally fluctuate in terms of how lucid they can be. I wouldnt doubt that she got some abx found her self in the hospital asked to be discharged back home and went. She might even have someone helping her.

I work with this population. There are late stage clients that can hold convos, and some who cannot talk at all. And you can be stuck in that state for a while, or decline very quickly. It’s so varied. The worst part is right now there’s a client who just cries all the time and acts distressed and it’s heartbreaking to see.

There will probably be a main thread posted for this eventually once the time comes yes (normally when events concerning Chris are posted they're in the random updates thread, but since is not in public eye atm, the thread being open is mostly redundant). Since this will not be the only hearing as far as I'm aware, multiple threads will end up being posted about it.

No cell phones or anything but a pen and paper are allowed. If you are doing anything that the bailiff sees as disruptive, he can remove you from the court without even interrupting the hearing.
