the interesting thing about it is that it had a very low-ish timeframe with some of the core concepts (the Walls were described as being under 70 or 60 years old) and the world seems a bit more bigger like how it was implied to be before the peninsula thing was established, i honeslty would've loved to see what could've been the idea for a world without the whole "luddite island lol turns out the continent has Imperial German Nazis with airships lul" shit, really would've been a less shittier concept imho lol

Ngl, I kinda wanna make one, but I think we should wait until the series end because part of me thinks one of these retards is actually gonna do something really stupid when the anime's ending is the same as the manga's.

I'm gonna try to get started on an OP just in case in the meantime.

Yes, both most of the music and fan music of and for the series are infinitely better storytellers than the series itself, but I'm cool with that!

The politics, and that fact that people thought it was a smarter, better series than what it actually was. They don't wanna admit that they were wrong, so they keep having to double-down and triple-down on everything.

AoT was their entire life and for it to end the way it did is something they can't accept because they don't wanna look dumb, even though their continued screeching, coping, and delusional theorizing about it makes them look even stupider than if they'd just admit they were wrong.

The politic shit really is just /pol/tards being /pol/tards. It's been stated many times before, but the addition of irl politics to the series is what really doomed it in the end.

Well it's people who act like AOT is the smartest manga of all time and act like they understand things more than the author. So it's typical pseudo-intellectual nonsense. This combined with people who view Isayama as a genius and defend every little thing he does.

But with the nonsense about politics, it's a bunch of /pol/tards who thought that AOT was about the greatness of white ethnostates. They thought Historia being reduced to some pregnant lady is great writing about trad wives while the man (Eren) does all the work to help his people. They project these themes of patriotism and self insert themselves into the show and make fun of the characters who oppose genocide as "filthy traitors to their countrymen" for having empathy. When in reality they'd either just be one of the many people who'd be trampled or die from the realistic environmental damage the rumbling would cause, they wouldn't be patriots who live on a peaceful island at all.

As @Bunny Tracks said, real life politics ruined this series, and I'd like to add that's because the author should not take political inspiration from Game of Thrones and how he doesn't know how to handle those nuanced topics.

As a casual fan who didn't think the fanbase was that bad until S4 dropped I have to image it's a combination of dumb, edgy anime-only zoomers being the primary fanbase left and the the shitty, edgy autism of the timeskip chapters that the anime is finally getting around to. They take one look at the sudden turn into human v human politics and the constant stupid twists and shocks that seem to come right out of Code Geass and they think that this must be some amazingly plotted, deep and introspective analysis of human nature instead of a plot-hole-ridden dumpster fire. All while the saner fans quietly make peace with a show they once loved turning to absolute dogshit and filter out to join communities based around healthier and better series like, I dunno, Fire Force or Demon Slayer.

As for the manga fans being bad, well, would you still call yourself a fan after Chapter 139 dropped? The only fans left are the ones who'd stay committed even if the final chapter was just still frames from three guys one hammer capped off with a close-up with a photo of Isayama's asshole with the caption "fuck you I hate you all".

Also that Rumbling song is absolutely awful and its shitty cod-Linkin Park whine faggotry is the cherry on top of the teen angst I-am-13-and-I-am-a-misunderstood-intellectual direction the anime and its fanbase have devolved into.

Picked up the show again with S4 due to all the sperging. Dropped it after watching a retarded girl utter her heartfelt last words to her comrades... "Meat." Truly riveting stuff, gonna go watch a different retarded girl eating bananas instead.

There was that girl that was in the past several episodes that had told Mikasa she joined the army because Mikasa inspired her to do so and what was possibly her deathbed (I don't know just yet) she tells her that she was there because she was following in Mikasa's footsteps. This motherfucker Mikasa only responds with "give me my scarf back." I mean, really?
