Making it so that somebody couldn't make that trip safely alone by turning the area around it into an inhospitable radioactive pit is the most sensible thing anyone could do in the story.

Would disagree on Naruto early days as while the story was decent but it pulling the same shit that DBZ had done by stretching everything out made it impossible for me to watch. As I went through that hellhole once with DBZ and had no intentions of ever sitting through that again.

I think that's a common thing with a lot of anime. People will read deeply into all kinds of hidden messages in the story, but then you get to hear the writer himself talk about it and he's just some random nerd who saw something on a screen and thought "that looks cool". Isayama probably didn't know what kind of minefield he was stepping into with the whole "star armband Eldian ghetto zones". It's sort of like how the old Naruto manga/anime had to censor Neji's forehead tattoo because it was a swastika, even though it had nothing to with Nazis.

He also copied Code Geass with the way he took out Eren. Like if there were anything he copied from, then he should've copied from FMA since that has similar themes that Isayama failed to handle with Attack on Titan

There's currently a fan comic in the works called Attack on Titan no Requiem (AnR for short) that claims to be the true and honest ending that has the potential to change the anime industry as we know it. No, I'm not kidding. It was in their official statement. I can't find it anymore because I think they might've actually taken it down, but it was there, and it did say that.

The actual comic so far is just an Erehisu shipfic where Eren is portrayed as being a total Chad who's doesn't want to hurt his friends but will because "by blood he will end this war".

It's full of other edgy dialogue, too, and ultimately was going to end with Eren succeeding in genociding the entire world and coming home to live on Paradis alone with Historia and their kid, but at the consequence of suffering "massive guilt, ptsd, and depression".

To be fair, this ending might've actually changed due to even fans of the fic not liking it, but that remains to be seen.

It's also extremely heavily implied that Mikasa is going to die in the story because she "is the key to the timelines", or something.

I dunno. It's vague and seems to be based on the entire timelines theory that the alleged AOE (anime original ending) thing is going to allegedly follow, but I have a very limited understanding of what the fuck that shit even is because the "proof" of it just seems to be schizo nonsense.

Moving on, there's six different writers from what I know, and they apparently routinely get sent death threats by militant Eremika shippers claiming that their fic is disrespectful to Isayama.

However, again from what I can tell, they don't actually post any proof of this. They also don't seem to connect their official statement saying it's the real ending that's gonna change the industry as the disrespectful part, and instead interpret it as them just saying that fanfiction in general is disrespectful.

Again, to be fair, I could be wrong about this. I don't follow AnR that closely. I did read the comic, but the outside drama surrounding it I'm not that well-versed in. I might be wrong with this part, and if I am, please feel free to correct me.

Moving on again, the AnR team, and their more militant fans swear up and down that AnR isn't about shipping even though it appears to kind of clearly be.

That, or at least a good chunk of it is as the entire second chapter is just about Eren and Historia getting married, fucking in woods while Floch watches and Armin being like "wtf??? does Mikasa know?".

The worst part is that the art of the comic is actually very good. The first chapter also actually showed some promise with kid!Eren interacting with adult!Eren (which is why he's up there in the pic), but that was quickly immediately dropped in favor of shipping.

It's currently on hiatus because someone on the team died (or a family member of someone of the team died. Not quite sure which) and is set to resume after the final season ends.
