Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Though some people were too thin skinned and then got really fucking passive aggressive with reports and it was really annoying with both sides reporting each other. And now, of fucking course, people want them back like there was no problem. If Null puts them back, people who whine or engage in report wars will be banned from posting because I don't want to hear it. If you're too thin skinned for a sticker, maybe you shouldn't be posting here.

I still want to know who these people are. Name names. Whining to the teacher that someone said a bad thing is gay and their mockery is rightly deserved. If this was the core reason why the fun ratings were taken away then doubly so.

I went through all the highlights in this thread but didn’t see this addressed specifically, apologies if I missed it. This is just an observation and I don’t expect anything to be done about this.

This part of the forum (excluding the Tranny News thread) is very misogynistic. Any female related comment or content is immediately dogpiled with the same anti-women stereotypes over and over and as a result there are very few to no pro-female posters countering it. I don’t mean well thought out criticism of women or female related articles, but comments like “single mothers”, “women are stupid” etc that are in almost every female related or female authored article but add nothing to the discussion. If a woman attempts to counter this, she gets multiple people attacking her just for being female.

The rest of the forum is not like this (and actually tends to lean more feminist than it might want to admit). I believe KF has a large female user base too, being essentially a gossip site but few openly female or pro-women posters in this section. The contrast is jarring.

I think it's more of a thing of everyone making fun of everything than an orchestrated attempt on women. The people who are legitimately angry at women will leave a five paragraph post detailing how their brains are different and how they're devaluing society. Those people are usually called retards and dealt with accordingly.

Literally every group gets hit with the stick. The only time you will see a coordinated defense of something is if you say someone's political party is for fags or if you say something about covid.

Nor do they have a board section specially dedicated to them (Beauty Parlour).

FWIW I've never seen a woman on a&h being dogpiled for anything other than being retarded and the men get the same treatment anyway. Dunno what else to tell you. A lot of people graduated to here from imageboards where that's the typical culture. If you're not used to it, it may seem malicious when it's actually more of a gentle ribbing. If you disagree with someone give them an autistic rating and move on.
