Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Anyone smart turns off rating notifications anyways, that shit is the real reason why places like twitter and reddit are cancer.

It’s never a bad thing to check out the first couple dozen pages of this thread where you see “Kiwi Farms Veterans” get extremely angry that people they don’t like are getting too many good forum stickers. Those are only reserved for people who spend most of their time in private threads and clog Null’s inbox with pleas to get rid of people who hurt their feelings because their hot takes weren’t well received. It’s every bit as gay as it sounds and all the more reason to not let up.

LMAO at the people clicking on a subforum full of things they don't like, and getting upset that there are things they don't like on it.

Just don't click on A&H. It's not that hard. Unless the mere presence of a subforum you don't like causes you physical and/or mental distress, in which case A&H is probably not the issue.

Thats what the goons said about LF/Debate and Discussion, and yet the filth leaked out onto the rest of the forum from there.
 
My suggestion is to spin the Happenings, News, and Culture War stuff off onto a new board. Maybe make @It's HK-47 the administrator, and cudgel anyone who brings up the stuff in cow threads. You're brought back news how many times? There's obviously an interest in it, but you seem to find it annoying. You can even give the sister board it's own community thread to laugh at the really stupid shit people say.

The sub-forum filled with commies that already had an entrenched group already in power that took over Something Awful? No, this isn't the same story at all, what you are doing is a helluva lot like how they gained that power though.

Trying to change the story of how it happened is cute though, and definitely something they would do.

D&D Went after GBS (Pretty much General + A&N/H here), almost like what's going on here, the commies couldn't handle anybody showing the holes in their stories.
 
Alright, so there's no good place to do this, I'm going to do this here.

This board is a shit hole. Its sewage leaking out into other places. I am so fucking tired of seeing shit associated with it move out into other places. I've got at least half-a-dozen messages privately from people who were leaving the site and wanted to stay in touch and I know exactly why. If you want to write /pol/ rants, do it on /pol/. Most people here come for shit posting, not for race war bullshit.

Half the time I'm a lazy asshole who doesn't want to be bothered but now its really starting to affect things. I'm not interested in your personal racial theories or rants. I am shit ass tired of trash posters. You're not funny, you're not good trolls, you're fucking boring. I'm not here to be bored.

Consider this a warning. I'm done moderating using a scalpel, I'm using a sledgehammer now.
 
For anyone curious, I will be moderating exactly the same because A&H has still yet to annoy me. I don't know why I'm immune to it.
 
You never addressed whether the people leaving are people who anyone should actually care about.

Most likely the answer is "no," so it seems a poor excuse.
 
I'll mod how I feel like modding. This forum is massively detested, so no one is going to object to me cracking skulls with a sledgehammer to improve it.
