Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Is it because I edited it like 6 times to get the screenshots for the prefix right? Or is it because this mod is particularly chosen. like me?

I'm still laughing about this whole thing. There's so many better reasons to ban me than the fact that I don't prefix half the articles I post.

And for people bitching about the word filters, bitching about CDMP being banned even though the reason he was banned had nothing to do with A&H, bitching about each other, and randomly asking for each others' nudes.

I wouldn't have been able to post a poll in this thread anyways. Now with the mod merge it got in there and most people a month from now will wonder what it is about.

And threads like this aren't about genuine discussion. No thread past 20 pages is. It's a containment thread to prevent any real discussion, because any time any discussion gets going, someone starts about a new subject and it just becomes one big mess.

It's alright, it's not like it was super important thing, I was just curious, maybe there were a lot of people that really cared about the prefix. I just wanted to poll the public. But I'd rather get banned if it's just one mod on a powertrip than bend over backwards for one person's autism. For the collective autism of a board's users? Yeah, I'd probably bend for that.

The vote to ban him wasn't even in A&H, so of course nobody noticed to defend him.
 
Note: if the mod message calls you a fucking retard or tells you to neck yourself, 9 times out of 10 it is nool himself.

If you scroll right to the bottom of the forum list in the interior subsection you can talk directly to the staff and ask them what is going on. And they will try to help you out even if you storm in there in a huff and flip out incoherently. You probably could have found out exactly who did it and why in a tenth of the time and effort this took.
