Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Distracting from what, exactly? We have all been going around in circles since a few pages from the beginning.

There's only one plague on A&H and he still shows up around for some reason to be that continuous plague. He may have fooled everybody (except for me) for a month or so as @Dynastier, but he's not gonna fool anyone else.

I mean no offense, but you seem to be particularly buttblasted about Corbin, who is completely harmless. This reaction is disproportionate to the offense.

Also don't lie, he totally got you off-track, we can read his profile posts you know!

FYI when we talked I was being genuine, I wasn't messing with you or anything. I really couldn't understand why you seemed to dislike me so much. I guess I was probably a dick in an argument at some point, knowing my track record...

I was surprised I got away with @Dynastier so long, I got cocky. (Why don't you report me for being a sock... WTF kind of idiot bluff was that?)

This thread is my honeypot, I suspect that's why it's not locked yet.

Also, anyone know any good free anonymous email services with a quick registration, that work for kf? Asking for absolutely no reason.

Well yeah. He's become the symbol of A&H's annoyances with his ad hominems and whatnot that seem to be made of pretty weak arguments and it's mostly because of this one guy. I have no personal hatred of any kind towards him nor do I care about him deeply, but he's such a joke. Might as well mock him endlessly. That's what we do here right?

Some guy who got banned from Kiwifarms....and posted 8,000 posts in a year whom is supposedly middle class or whatnot.

I'm serious. There are free forum hosts out there. Unless your work gets controversial or your traffic intense, they'll be just fine. And I promise, none of your oh-so-controversial opinions will get you taken down, unless you insist upon sticking your head up.

When you have to do the work of a forum janitor, when you must weigh the benefits of freedom for one person against the enjoyment of the userbase, you may come to know, in some tiny part, what the jannies here have to do. Who knows? You might grow up a little.

But whatever you do, stop doing it here. This place is dead to you. Time for a new direction.

Honestly, I'm a bit surprised that people are upset over "dog-piling". Really now? Supposing you created a place where anyone could say anything, what did you expect to happen? Short of mandating strict 50/50 split between all posts and views, dog-piling one way or the other is inevitable.

What we have here in A/H that you don't necessarily get elsewhere is the freedom to fight back. True, we could use more left-wing posters being assertive. This is still the place I come to find alternate opinions, because anything left standing after the shitposting, sperging, and "muh jooz" probably has some merit. If your ideas can't stand out from other people's idiocy, then perhaps they weren't worth much to start with.
 
Corbin is, as a rule, polite and has a sense of humour and pleasant company, even if you don’t agree with him. I accept that he makes too much work for the nannies, but let’s not pretend that Corbin is The Cancer Killing A&H.
