Articles & Happenings is the third attempt at a news board on the Kiwi Farms. It is a cursed place. Every moderator who has been assigned here has resigned within a year. During 2016, the political crossfire was so bad it spread to different boards and culminated in me banning American news discussion entirely for several months. It has been deleted in its entirety twice. There is no actual discussion here, it's people posting garbage. It leans much further right than the rest of the site and doesn't particularly conduct discussion because dissenting opinions are dogpiled by a thousand memelords posting shit they read on /pol/ without any critical analysis.

The only rules that can be enforced are empirical ones with boolean violation answers. New threads must cite a real source directly and must use the headline of the article as a thread title without any editorializing. Articles must be archived in some way and must link to the original article. Replies that are one word or a reaction images are automatic one-month bans from the board.

I'm creating this now because it seems like this place is here to stay and is one of the largest areas of the entire site. I might as well throw in bare minimum effort to improve it. I don't even try to find mods for here because they will quit, without exception. I've added new prefixes ("Business" and "Crime") just now.

Look at it from a more business-oriented perspective: A&H spawns a lot of trouble-making users, A&H floods the 'new threads' ticker so quickly that they had to be split into two categories or we'd drown out the Lolcow threads, and A&H has actually costed Null money in the past by significantly jamming into the site's search results priority due to the copy-and-pasting of news articles.

A&H is an off-topic board that deviates from the website's primary purpose and it has actively damaged the website in several ways in the past. Apart from some sort of nebulous "freedom of speech" concept there's no genuine incentive to keep this board alive if it's actively causing problems to the site as a whole.

Null also has to realize that at some point even if he nukes AH the site will still keep loosing money due to 1 simple fact: the very nature of the site is archiving and making fun of people and sooner or later someone is gonna make the thread on the wrong guy with all the connections to fuck the site over (and i dont mean ddosing for 2 hours this shithole or leaking a bunch of useless info that null is still a pussy for not hosting)
Hell, wasnt Yaniv responsible for pozzing google?

Fair enough. Yes, just having a blanket ban on discussing the relationship between any individual's Jewishness, the historical behaviour of that group and their actions, or the nature of Jewish power in general, at least on on-topic boards, would be sensible to keep things safe.

I think it's just the effect of the internet being sanitized and KF getting a popularity of the few last bastions when you can say naughty things about a person that's acting retarded, regardless of political standing. The influx of users will inevitably contain the idiots who insert their politics everywhere and things won't stop by nuking A&H. If anything it will just encourage the politcal talks to be inserted through derivatives of cows postings rather than be contained in a single thread.
If A&H needs to go then I'd advise to at least keep a few of the larger global topics on to reduce the spread of idiocy. Threads on specific countries (China, UK), companies (Google, Vox) and events (Diseases, Climate).

Because A&H is the problem. This issue doesn't stem from any other part of the site. I understand that it only seems to be a handful of users, but it's clear the longer A&H fags spend their time on KF, the chance of them spreading their speg/a-log jews/niggers/trannies/muslims/california bad (or whatever other r.etarded /pol/ topic of the week) into other threads increases as well.

It only makes sense to address A&H as a whole. Null has attempted to address the issue in more subtle ways (like this exact thread for example), but it is clearly still a problem that everyone who joined for the purpose of contributing to the cancer that is A&H needs to clearly understand.

Tbh I wouldn't even miss A&H if it was removed. I enjoy checking in on A&H for strange news, but it has attracted some of the most annoying, unfunny, garbage users I've encountered on the site since joining. This is a website for laughing at cows, not for a-logging trannies and humorless hot on how (((they))) are to blame for literally everything.

Large portions of A&H are cringe-worthy clapture. It is Kiwifarms' LF and while I would hate to see news discussion banned (half or more of my posts are in it,) it might well be better then letting the news subforum be of such a low quality.

Articles and Happenings is an off-topic board. The bread and butter of Kiwifarms is lolcows and lolcow accessories. Bitching about how you're being persecuted on a website that you use to almost exclusively post in an off-topic subforum is stupid.

This is a weird argument considering that A&H contains ~1/5th of all threads on this site, and more comments than any other section by a country mile save for the regular lolcow board.

You make it sound like it's a small hobbyist section of the site.

I'll be honest, I did not originally come to KF for the A&H board and I usually still don't visit it much, but I'd be sad to see it go. The funny news stories that sometimes get posted and watching fellow kiwis take the piss out of them makes the board worth keeping, in my opinion.
