We're laughing at him when he freaks out, not with him. It's actually hilarious when Arin references CWC during the Sonic playthrough. Like he's not a completely rētarded manchild himself. Chris is genuinely more interesting than Arin too. At least Sonichu is so bad it's enjoyable. Egoraptor animations are just terrible in general unless you're an elementary school student.

It's really funny when Arin says something incriminating like how he used to have a club where he and his friends would just whip their dicks out and starts freaking out when Dan says that's gay. He's really someone you laugh at, not with.

Future Arin will probably be some sort of combination of Terra and Spoony. Expect full trooning, depression, having to move a lot, failed vidya streaming, alcoholism, bitching on Twitter.
 
Powered through most of the thread to catch up on my Egoraptor lore and the whole time I felt like I was in the Maddox thread. Both are soyboys who think they're some kind of Neitchian superman, above the rest of society and experts in their field but too stupid and lazy autisitic hacks in reality that moved to LA with some Yoko Ono in the background ruining what could have been great (GG I guess if you like Let's Plays/The Biggest Problem in the Universe).

Also have bizarre sexual hang ups and fetishes.

I don't theres a chance Egoraptor ever would have been great. His only worthwhile endeavor was "comedic" parody animations that aren't funny. And his band Starbomb is absolute shit. Unfunny parody songs full of jokes that have been made a billion times. He's pretentious as shit about both as well, so even ignoring the lazy garbage that is Game Grumps he'd still manage to be a laughing stock even if he stuck to animation.

Example, I recall the video when him, Suzy, and the guys from Super Mega spent the night at a hotel. They decided to make a little skit video where the hotel was haunted. The entire video was full of cringe and gay jokes.
I can't be assed to watch the whole video again (That was a chore almost 3 years ago, let alone now), but if you skip to the 17:00 mark you will see Arin's comedy genius... a ghost posses Arin and one of the Super Mega guys into getting almost naked and making out. That it, it's the whole joke.

Apparently he had a "D-Club" in highschool with some friends where they would show each other their do is to prove they werent gay and ocassionally got into "swordfights". This was mentioned in the Ninjabread Man episode and Dan runs off to corroborate it with Suzy off screen, the episode ends with him coming back in laughing from getting a confirmation. So...theres that.

He's so pathetic and desperate to be right that he'll intentionally fuck up and blame the game designers so his audience will pat his ass like there's no tomorrow. As bad as a ton of Sonic games are those playthroughs are full of this. If he doesn't like something then it's shit and you're wrong for liking it. He'll never bitch about stuff he likes though. The SM64 playthrough was full of him dying at really stupid parts and then him praising the game for being difficult (compared to Zelda games he doesn't like and Sonic where it's the developers' fault he sucks). Game Grumps was always dumb, but at least when JonTron was around Arin couldn't get away with thst bullshit because he'd get called out. That's the reason why he's a much bigger sperg now. Dan just pats his ass and so does the audience

That’s true. I guess the whole a-logging and screaming he does before breaking a controller just makes me uncomfortable. I understand the appeal of it, however.

On one hand, Hamilton is an actual solid production. It gets a lot of details wrong or misplaced, but is entertaining in its own medium. I get why younger people/people trying to virtue signal would like it so much.

On the other, GG is definitely entertaining to the younger crowd, but so much of the surrounding stuff is just weird. Like turning two 30 somethings into 80s anime babes.
 
Warning, autism ahead:
When I saw that Arin was invited to Sonic Team USA's offices, I was confused and a bit upset.
There's a plethora of talented people who have contributed something to the Sonic series, and instead you get Arin because "Haha he made a funny scream at our games haha". It's a shame cuz Sonic's Twitter is usually pretty decent.

Btw, I uh... I liked Black Knight.
 
I'm not even fully done reading this thread but all of it just confirms what I had been telling myself for a while. Which is I only watched Game Grumps for Dan. I think I held out on them a lot longer than most - right up to when Dan got sick around Christmas 2017. Arin's solo videos were extremely painful and even when Dan came back, everything sounded very forced. Like in one month it went to being decent background noise to just... sterile.

I wouldn't even say they've had good episodes or series. Just moments. Like the best playthroughs on their channel is when Dan was doing Leisure Suit Larry because he loved the old games and it was genuinely fun to have him explain some of the old jokes, how to get through areas, where to click, etc. When Arin comes in, he just derails everything, says "pee pee" a lot while giggling, and then explodes into yelling. Thinking about it, it was only a matter of time he'd have a thread on here.

Guess I'm more shocked at myself not really clueing into it before. I guess most of us excused Arin because Dan or Jon was there to make things actually entertaining.

See? This is what I'm talking about when I say the SJW act seems partially disingenuous. The desire to make edgy jokes is still there, whether Arin realizes or not.

I seem to remember a time in the Jon era that Arin got in trouble with the SJW crowd for making a joke about Birdo from Mario. They got so butt hurt they yelled at his dad on Twitter. Note: this was back in the infancy of Twitter becoming the garbage dump it is now so SJW culture wasn't big yet.
