Overall, I don't think so. We are (mostly) just joking about a bunch of idiots who post garbage online or do idiotic stuff. Some might say that we pick on people, but I think most on here just point and laugh at what the lolcows post themselves.

That.
I'm new here but I know what type of community this is and not to sound like we are vigilantes or any fag shit like that, but we are doing kinda of a service by exposing this shit people all over the internet.
A lot of them actually have criminal records. Of course, there is the entertaining aspect of watching a person sinking him/herself, but that is their own doing. We are just watchers archiving every happening.

You can also see this as cautionary tails, of what not to do, of what happens when you dive too deep into the cesspool.
Show others that you need to stop being a fucking retard or you will end up like this lolcows.

I'm not, but everyone else here really needs to take a good hard look at themselves.

I willingly accept that I'm to some extent evil for laughing at other people's failings, however to what extent exactly depends on your personal beliefs as morality is subjective. I tell myself that I make up for it in other ways but I know that's bullshit, and ultimately don't care if I end up in either hell or the slug pit in purgatory.

I think the more important question is... do you want to be?

There are a number of reasons that people mock the misfortune of others, whether by their own making or as a result of happenstance. For most it's a matter of schadenfreude, there's a kind of cathartic pleasure from "not being that guy". Knowing that there's someone worse off than you creates a kind of stress relief, the whole, "No matter how bad my life is, at least it's not that bad."

But like with anything you can enjoy it recreationally or you can become a spaz. When you become fixated to the point of psychological addiction then it becomes a problem, then you become an A-Log, a weeb, a fantard, or whatever other community specific term you like. In any form... nobody likes a spaz.

Another reason is for the sake of being evil/bad/mischievous/anarchistic. It's a fun role to play and when taken lightly in the form of trolling or shit posting it can likewise be an enjoyable form of stress relief. But, just like with the spaz types, if taken too far you go from being a troll to a fuckwit.

A fuckwit wants to feel bad/evil to the point of becoming a try-hard edge lord, often to the point of actually breaking laws. One of the best recent examples is Tyler Barriss. And, once again... nobody likes a fuckwit.

So in any event don't be a spaz or a fuckwit and you're fine.

Is anyone in the world really "good" is a better question.

But the short answer is yes. Everyone here is a bad person who should feel bad and needs more productive hobbies.

There's nothing wrong with chuckling at other people's failures so long as you can acknowledge your own and learn from both.

Consider the reverse of this question. Are Lolcows good people? If you think about the qualities that make a person a lolcow you will come up with an awful lot of synonyms for bad person. Inflated egos, Narcissisim, autocratic and manipulative personalities, scammers, drains on society.
Farmers provide nothing more than a counterbalance to the prevalence of these people on the internet. Without trolls and those who document the lives of lolcows there would be no way of pointing out asshats to the wider internet. Without farmers the antics of scammers and manipulators and attention whores would go unchecked. Egos would swell to colossal proportions and more innocent rubes would be duped into echo chambers or have their wallets drained by some would be 'content creator's patreon (Ive always loved the term Hipster Welfare).
Do I think that by just being a counter balance to the presence of a shitty person is a good thing? Yes I do.

Furthermore, and I may be jumping the shark here. I believe that sites like Encyclopedia Dramatica teach people moral lessons and provide people case studies on how not to behave. I believe that by documenting the actions of lolcows you provide the wider internet with the tools they need to spot manipulators, the mentally unstable, scam artists and cult leaders. How many people have seen themselves reflected back at them when reading about Chris-Chan? How many people have changed their ways because they recognised a part of themselves when they learned about the antics of some ghastly echo chamber (Incels etc). If its even just one person then its a good thing. But I bet its actually a hell of a lot more than just one.

Truth must always be spoken to power. It is a moral good.

Individually I don't think we're bad people, at least for the most part. This site isn't bad so much as a symptom of the modern world. The internet makes otherwise secluded people accessible to the wider world. 20 years ago Chris would have lived his life in quiet obscurity. Gail would have been that crazy lady down the street. DSP would be unemployed. We laugh at their antics but I don't think people are really out to hurt them, at least not here and if we're honest with ourselves of somebody did hurt Chris or Gail (maybe not DSP) then popped up here going "Hay guyz I'm the super cool dude that maced CWC the other day and put him in hospital justice 4 GameStop amirite?" They'd end up reviled and ridiculed far more than CWC ever has been.

Honestly, I'm just a commentator commenting on people's distinct failures. The part that bugs me is these people who do fail almost never pick themselves up or make the same mistakes again and again. Dobson's life is forever stuck in limbo and I feel no moral conundrums when I mock him because he himself made his life shit. Would I ever harm him in the real world? No. Chris Chan seems like a guy who suffers from legit mental illness and I do feel at least some sympathy for him because I know mental illness will destroy you and CWC really shows that.

So no, I don't feel like we're necessarily bad people just neutral grey individuals who watch car wrecks on the sides of highways. Whether you find that evil or not is entirely up to you.

Anyone who even cares about whether or not they're bad has no idea who they are anyway.

Good isn't something you are. It's something you do.

I think we’re pretty bad in ways. Discussing fucking reprehensible people is one thing, and sometimes threads bring awareness to important shit like the one about poor dead Jahi and what brain death is. There’s also just a lot of plain ass needless cuntiness and sometimes minor people get mentioned and doxxed based on a vendetta or completely fake info and that shit is awful for them.

That said, I own up to my part in this. It doesn’t stop me participating and laughing at Chris or Phil or being petty and drawing mean art of Amberlynn. I’m a bitch for bitching about people in a setting where I’m essentially doing it behind their backs and not to their face. I’m a hypocrite because I don’t do that IRL. I don’t believe in god so I don’t give a fuck about being judged. People put themselves out there and have to deal with the consequences when they shit the bed. I don’t feel bad for that being called out.

There are some amazing and good people here though. We have occasionally actually done good and led to people bettering their lives. I don’t buy for a second we led to suicide but there used to be way stricter standards about being factual and observing and certain sub forums and threads are total shitshows. There’s also really good ones and the mods do their best to keep a lid on things now the site is so much bigger.

Also we’re not lolcow so I guess we always have that to be proud of :like:

We can be harsh, but in the end we're just looking for laughs. The Farms are just silly internet drama most of the time - being considered a lolcow won't genuinely harm you unless you do something awful or do absolutely nothing with your life.

I’m a terriable person. I fully acknowledge and admit this.
You also suck at spelling. KYS, fag.

Joking aside, I know I'm awful and I don't care. Caring is lame and giving a fuck what others think of you is kinda gay. You will never be good enough for most people around you. Do what our God Emperor does and not give a fuck about them. Success breeds envy.

There's nothing wrong with chuckling at other people's failures so long as you can acknowledge your own and learn from both.
Yes and there is nothing wrong with being hated by others. Ty Cobb was hated, and he was one of the best ball players ever. Bill Gates is hated and he unleashed a soft version of Skynet in the world, made billions doing it too. Like Katt Williams said, if you don't have five haters at the end of the day you're doing something wrong.

Anyone who even cares about whether or not they're bad has no idea who they are anyway.

Good isn't something you are. It's something you do.
Also, if you have to ask, you probably aren't it, right?

We can be harsh, but in the end we're just looking for laughs. The Farms are just silly internet drama most of the time - being considered a lolcow won't genuinely harm you unless you do something awful or do absolutely nothing with your life.
Or let it even bother you. Every lolcow we have here is a result of them giving a shit what a bunch of random dickhead asshole trolls like us say about them. You notice people who don't react or give any sort of lolmilk aren't kept in the stable? Giving a shit what others think is the ticket to a miserable existence.
