The fact that he survived a false rape claim would have made him instantly suspicious of the Me Too shit - especially because he knew just how vile so many Hollywood people were. If it was some crafts services people leading the charge, Patrice would probably listen a little more. When it was actresses who sat by and let the Harvey Weinsteins do their thing, and probably fucked the Weinsteins themselves, he would have had a problem.
By Patrice's own admissions he really didn't want massive success. He was happy with being the big fish in the little pond. He never wanted the tv show or movie deal. So, I don't see him becoming a big star if he had lived only because he never wanted it.

Patrice was famously "pro nigga", I feel like if he existed how he was in 2006 in 2026, people who look back fondly on him now would resent him as much or more than they do Burr for "going woke". Yeah, he pointed out when niggers would nig, but he wasn't a "Well, maybe they SHOULD behave!" type of guy. He'd have been rabidly pro BLM at its peak, and maybe he would have defended Anthony's race talk, but he'd definitely have defended the rioting.

I understood Patrice's anti-white racism and I appreciated its bluntness. He would have defended the rioting, but he would have done so in a far more honest and less commie way than BLM. "Yeah, nigga, it's revenge!" I don't agree with it but I would take that long before I take the CNN chirons calling it peaceful and joyful while cities are on fire on the screen.
If he kept speaking truth to power - he absolutely would be stopped. One of those "oh wow you're banned from <everything>, what a weird glitch" people like Kiwi Farms, Alex Jones, Kanye West, Russel Brand, etc. He probably would get shadow banned from clubs eventually and wander off instead of putting in effort.

He was on the cusp multiple times and fucked it up, probably on purpose. He either didn't want success or was afraid of it. Spike Lee personally wanted to push Patrice and he blew him off. He got the job on The Office and purposely blew that off too. If he didn't shoot himself in the foot constantly, he would have taken a lot of the roles that Craig Robinson ended up with, and he was a lot funnier than Craig.
Considering how gay and retarded Hollywood is, can we really blame Patrice? I'm probably white knighting here, and accept ridicule for it, but I think that Patrice wanted fame on his own terms. As this previous poster put it:
He did not want to get famous if it meant owing a Spike Lee or a Greg Daniels a favor. My gut feeling is Patrice only wanted to get big if it was something that he was the big boss of. He wasn't lazy, per se, but he definitely hated authority and did not want to take orders from people he didn't respect. Patrice looked around at comedians making millions of dollars doing unfunny shit and figured either he could make billions being actually funny on his own, or it wasn't worth doing at all.
