I did find it interesting how apathetic Anthony was to the required SCHMOOZE. Like going out to dinner is not a social thing, it's a networking thing. And he didn't wanna.

Where is this Opie revisionism coming from? He was definitely not happy being who he was on the show. Opie may have been tard wrangling Ant but Opie himself was being tard wrangled hard by SiriusXM management to the point that they pretty much put an end to Opie The Destroyer. He couldn't outsmart his overseers to do the radio his way and he couldn't adapt. He was bitter, seething, and resentful of his co-hosts by then.

This isn't even true but Anthony's Budweiser rotted brain thinks it is. He and Opie already had a deal in place before being fired. Anthony has dementia like Lady Di and can't remember his own life. In a few years he'll think he's on a Navy warship as well. USS Feed Nana.

All of the comics complained. When your standup shows were 80% O&A fans it was easy to sell tickets. Guys like Patrice, Bobby, and Vos were begging them to get back on air already. Rogan is in the same position now. If he retires or takes a break from podcasting so many comics and political grifters will lose their entire audience.

Yeah that was bog standard OnA Forum revisionism where Opie dindu nuffins and Anthony was ackchually the one sabotaging anything and everything. You can see that shit a mile away. I do think that Opie’s situation is much better than Anthony’s but not to the point where we need to make shit up and revise events.

It's not really revisionism, it's realization. Everyone got to see in real time what would have previously been a hypothetical situation - Opie, Jimmy, and Anthony all got to do their own shows by themselves and we all got to see how those all went and find out who the "real" talent was on O&A.

They were all terrible and the only noteworthy thing to come out of any of them is Anthony getting absolutely trucked on by Ronny B on his own show. Outside of that - the only thing people care about is when Anthony talks about Opie or viceversa. Jimmy's Shows (Jim and Sam, Jim and Tranny Wife, Chip Show) were all terrible and uncomfortable cash grabs that felt more like sexual humiliation/gratification then a comedy show. Ant's show feels like watching someone in arrested development ruin their own life in real time. Opie by comparison does cringey but generally inoffensive garbage shows.

Before all this happened everyone thought that Anthony and Jimmy were truly talented and didn't need Opie and wished that they could "break away" and "be free" - well, we got it and it's borderline unlistenable. They all very clearly cannot succeed without one another and we no longer have to play 'what if' to try and figure out who's the real talent, because it's none of them.

Don't forget Jim and Ant have both talked about how they would whisper campaign with each other behind Opie's back to try and get him to quit. Once that shit started coming out people began to soften up on Opie a lot.

not only that Opie tried, whereas the other two didn't. Opie paid for Norm Macdonald's favorite comic writers to join the crew and write bits (the Stangels) and then hired 3 other comedians to try and make the show into more of a hang. The pests might have mocked them but they were slightly better than the usual morning zoo shit most shows had in the mid 2010s.

Opie didn't just sit in front of the mic and say whatever thought popped into his head like Cumia or try and bilk the fans out of money and use the show to get laid like Norton. he just tried to put on a good show. fans forget Opie had Pete Davidson on pretty much up until the show got kicked off the air, like Opie really tried to maintain a cellar crew atmosphere in a way neither Norton or Ant bothered to have on their own.

I still remember how bad the subreddit melted down after Opie posted that "Patrice lives" video, it was like going on /r/politics after Trump said something, everyone was clutching pearls.
 
I really really hope Catsimatidis forces Ant to have a hole co-host. I can see the banner of the show, Ant with devil horns and a devil tail talking into a speakerphone (with maybe a speech bubble with something like "$?%#!" written on it), shocking his co-host with her little angel wings and halo. Or maybe they can have the hole with her hands at her hips, wagging her finger at Anthony as he throws up his hands in a shrug to convey his mischievous antics and establish that he's the crazy rebellious one of the pair.

I think this could be a fresh fun start for Anthony, maybe he's off the rails at Compound because he doesn't have a feminine perspective to cool it down when he gets too hotheaded, he's always broadcasted from an essential man cave. This could make for radio that is fun but funny

They can even reuse the "Oh, Anthony" soundbit from O&A Jocktober whenever he brings up race talk

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what the hell he's going to do a show about at all. Like a watered down version of CP Media political bullshit? It surely won't be comedy, god knows he hasn't cared about jokes in a decade at this point. The closest thing I can see is someone trying to restart a Bush-era "guy talk" O&A ripoff thing where the Elder Anthony is brought on as kind of a Norton-styled third mic who just chimes in while other people are expected to do the bulk of the legwork.

I'm loving that most 77 WABC personalities are either ethnic or someone. I usually despise anyone that has to do with Rush Limbaugh but I would really love Bo Snerdley only if he goes overtime with his hour cutting into Ant's hour every day (like how they used to do with Ron and Fez). Ant starting his new show biting his tongue over a Black host pushing him aside like he's nothing AND having to contend with the censorship of radio AND having your phone lines jammed with Ramone and Nana callers AND having your boss and co-workers giving you grief for endless Pest calls to other shows is just asking for a great on-air meltdown

I hope the show is so bad that some older show that was formerly dragged on Jocktober gets to sick their fanbase on Anthony.

I really loved that show where this almost made Sirius fire Erock (on his birfday of all days) for telling Ant that management noted he kept falling asleep in meetings
