Straight from the horse's mouth on 2/23/25:

  • Ant is meeting with the GM and owner of the station soon. He says the station has a "90's radio vibe" and the owner has a direct hand in operations. This could be him rump swabbing, of course. "It's like a small mom-and-pop radio station."
  • In the beginning, most of the shows will be prerecorded in his studio, with 1 live show from their studio per month. He is doing "the weekend shift" with no confirmation on time slot. Ant wants to do middays during the week but this weekend thing, he says, is probationary to make sure he doesn't blow everything up immediately (lol).
  • The interviewer starts bashing Opie 2 minutes in for no reason and proceeds to massage Anthony, "you know a lotta words." Ant says he got hired because of the "Trump effect" and says he's doing this because he loves radio. Ant sees this gig as "vindication" and a way to upset certain people (I guess).
  • Ant will be allowed to plug his own shows with this gig.
  • Ant compares behaving on radio to behaving in front of your girlfriend's parents when you're a teenager. In fact, Ant says this is a fun challenge and he's talking about this like he's looking forward to being censored/restricted. Any old-timers will remember that Anthony once went on a long rant about how much he hated and did not care meeting his girlfriend's parents especially their dads who always saw him for what he was.
  • Quote of the interview from Anthony: "I've never been a backpatter kind of a guy when it comes to what I do" (5:50).
  • Anthony talks about the importance of doing show prep (lol) and engaging with callers.
  • He's keeping it local guys! New York City is the pulse of the world, maaaan!
  • Anthony spends about a minute bringing up how it isn't about the money even though the interviewer did not ask.
  • Ant brings up how "you don't like 30 people watching your fucking show" and he wants the radio gig for bigger listenership. He wants a captive audience and thinks he's cornering the market on conservative talk radio in NYC by being pro-Trump. He's also hinting at the possibility of doing an interview with Trump on his radio show.
 
They really have him on a leash, nothing that a few days worth of Pest calls can't manage to ruin though. Catsimatidis might be rich but I imagine he wouldn't be very pleased with having to pay FCC violations whenever a Pest calls in (which they shouldn't, I do honestly hope Pests don't sneak by screeners to drop the N-word during a live show, for real don't ruin his new gig)

The less savory pests will definitely try to call in and induce FCC violations. They do not understand subtlety or fun.

Less savory pests would also try to flood the station and fellow hosts' emails with scat and furry porn which I would also really advise against because its not cool or funny, it would risk blowing this entire thing for Ant
 
Has Anthony or Gavin made any comments how this affects last year's Compound Censored merger?

Ryan Katsu Rivera, Gavin and Ant's producer, recently went on paternity leave. There was a narrative that Gavin & Ryan were pretending again that he was leaving the show for good and moving out of NYC with his family to go work for Sam Hyde.

Is Ryan's new fill-in helping Ant prerecord his weekend radio hits?

Gavin McInnes' brand is a lot more toxic than Ant's. Is the station okay with Ant & Gavin's ongoing partnership? Is the station okay with Ant using Censored.tv assets?

In the event that Ant passes the precorded weekend probation and switches to an afternoon live radio gig, is he planning on doing separate WABC and Censored.tv shows? Some sort of simulcast where Censored.tv subscribers get a watered down censored radio show instead of what they get now?

One also wonders what contractual obligations Gavin secured for Ant's content with the merger last year.

If Ant starts neglecting his Censored.tv obligations, did McInnes effectively pay for the pleasure of yeeting all the Compound Media deadwood and a subscribers list?
 
My impression is that Anthony is going to do a standard conservative talk radio format for WABC while plugging his Compound stuff. A clean-up will likely precede this to get rid of the more abrasive content on Compound. I have absolutely no clue how this will affect his Compound business or his business with Gavin and Ryan. My intuitive guess (and it's only a guess) is that Ant wants to move away from Compound and all that stuff as his main income and get a regular, stable radio gig. Anyone that WABC will hire goes along with him while everyone else jumps ship.

It is also possible that the station will buy up any assets and use its legal arm to hide it. Catsimatidis may be thinking it's easier to cover up Anthony's indiscretions and make money off of him. As mawrie notes above, I do not see how this goes without pests terrorizing the station. It'd actually be a massive success for Ant and WABC if it just turns into a legacy O&A product, but the 10+ years of pests festering has not been good.

Growing your audience on terrestrial radio? Holy fuck Anthony has a 1980's vibe to content creation.

People don't listen to radio anymore - and certainly not NYC pro-Trump radio (in English, lol).

To be fair, I do listen to radio. Conservative talk radio, even. I don't think he wants to grow his audience, though. I think this is a chance at a stable paycheck.
 
This is a radio station that strongly promotes Bo Snerdley, El Rushbo’s token negro who only got paraded out if Rush got accused of being racist. I suspect they expect a by the numbers conservative talk show. Anthony is going to be tightly leashed. Only reason why he’s considering this show is that he’s burned through most of his money over the years and Missy Muscles is hoping she’s the Anna Nicole Smith to Anthony’s J. Howard Marshall. She’s not sticking around to end up with a reverse mortgage on their lavish South Carolina mansion.

The sad thing is for him it is a big announcement. A steady paycheck and a return to a professional, albeit small, platform.

Eleven years ago everyone would have laughed at him for thinking this was a good carer move. Now when he is washed up has been who can't land anything else, this is the best thing for him.

From what someone else in radio i knew of has said, there's no way in hell they aren't offering him more than 10k a year, and probably way less for a weekly pre-recorded 1hr spot. People forget Ant was so desperate for money or a fanbase he was doing those "comedians of compound" shows with like a talking potato.

this guy was clearing just under a half million a year back in 2014. from all the subscribers, and then the bullshit ad reads. in the span of a decade he's managed to drop his yearly income by 98%

I don't care what his time slot is or what the show will be about. All I want is to hear Ant giving traffic and weather updates every quarter hour with a song bed in the back. They might even give him a hole or throw him on a zoo crew.

Kidding aside, if he did a terrestrial show with Denny Falcone, I'd probably listen to it.

If it's Ant and Denny, I will listen every day. Honestly, Denny did crazier shit than Ant.

And the greatest thing about it is that none of it had to happen. He brought everything on himself with his behavior. If he was less retarded he would still be on Satellite raking in a lucrative salary. He may have had to end up doing a watered down interview show that no one cares about the way Jim and Sam had to, but he wouldn't have had to deal with any of the shit he currently has to.
 
I really really hope Catsimatidis forces Anthony to celebrate Black History Month, I really cannot think of any worse or more humiliating fate for him

So most of the shows are basically YouTube essays, you know the type, their face not shown other than an avatar of something. Just right wing talking points.

I think his last big get was the fouled mouth little girl "soph" to entice the pedos. but her show was just her playing minecraft. None of the stuff that got her infamy. She got the marching papers once she called Sam Hyde a pedo. Other than that they all sucked, and I'm glad to say I'm out of my homo phase

Waitaminnit... Bo Snerdley... wasn't he the generic "producer" that Rush would occasionally mention on his show? I seem to recall reading or hearing somewhere that there were several "Bo Snerdleys" over the years. So they gave the black one a show? and he has to use that stupid name that Rush used because, for whatever reason, he wouldn't use his producers real names? Fucking hilarious.

Yep. Except there was just one Bo Snerdley, a nigga whose real name is James Golden. Snerdley would only get actual mic time when Rush was accused of being a racist. He was the official token negro that Rush could trot out to say he wasn’t actually a racist because he has a black producer. Now why the fuck would anyone care what a literally who has to say who had nothing to say for 30 years while producing a show for a guy who died several years ago? Yet that guy is getting top billing on this radio network that Cumia signed onto. It’s a perfect station for a has been who just pissed away his own online network like Anthony. WABC appears to be a conservative boneyard for old relics that can’t get a gig literally anywhere else. It’s a special kind of hell for those like Anthony. Anthony knows that this is ultimately humiliating for him and the show is going to quickly unravel due to Anthony being a lazy nigger.
