I only bring this up because Nana may be sick of doing the streaming thing and maybe decided to invest in a return to radio. If he’s a weekday slot - and especially a peak time - then they likely hired him. But the article makes no mention of a contract. This isn’t a dig at Anthony because the station would still need to ok this. Obviously Ethan Ralph can’t just give them money and get a time slot.

To be fair, that's not quite what happened. Whoopi did not show up and cow them, she showed up and ended up shooting the shit with them. They were all laughing together by the time Whoopi left their studio. O&A respected her because she had the balls to not only confront them, but level with them. That's actually how a select few Jocktobered stations became friends with O&A: they gave the boys a wink and a nod.

When you're the only person in your crew that has any formal training in the business you're in, and you're trying to tard wrangle a heard of drunk cats, where the best one is fucking SAM ROBERTS, you're going to be an abrasive boss. The one that pissed me off was when they would make fun of his "HOLD ON HOLD ON HOLD ON.". When listening back during the XM years, he was damn near 100% on shutting people up and pushing a bit.

They ALL did that shit but because two of the hosts spent how many years reminding people when the other did it that is all anyone remembers. And yes Opie had awful timing, and yet his asshole behavior the source of some of the funniest memorable moments from the show. His radio brain had the show doing shit that Ant's wet brain wouldn't have had the balls to do. He got them fired from Boston, got them a raise to move to NYC, got them another raise to move to a better station. Had Mecurio just STFU, they could have been even greater. We could have had the live lobstergirl breakdown. The crew laughing at Ant for trusting a woman who sucked Spazz's dick to save a fucking lobster.

I get sentimental when I talk about this fucking show. How they could have continued to be good if those two dipshits just accepted they were better as a trio and made an effort to work their shit out. Fucking Anthony is STILL butthurt over 00 O&A and how the crew were side eyeing and giving him shit over having lobstergirl sitting in his lap during the show. No idea what Jim's problem was. You're dead-on about Ant having no balls, by the way. Ant was so afraid of losing his radio gig that most of the career moves made by Opie, which catapulted them to fame, scared the shit out of him. Jimmy, too. They owe everything to Opie and I don't think they want to admit it. Their bullshit whisper campaign was all for nowt and it backfired when Ant went on his Twitter rant, Jimmy sat by and watched Opie get fired, and Sam dumped Jimmy to get his own show that no one will listen to. I think it's pretty obvious that Dry Drunk Jimmy was trying to get under Opie's skin after the firing and side with Sam.

You forget that Opie went to college and has a degree in broadcasting. So things like negotiating a radio contract are things he is qualified to do professionally. Yes, he did do lots of things for their contracts: he bitched, moaned, and complained about the contract negotiations on the air. He got upset when Opie re-negotiated contracts regularly (which you should always do to get more money), he got upset when Opie got them fired from WAAF, and he got upset when Opie got them the satellite radio gig while Infinity paid out the rest of their contract. The dude has always been a fucking brat. Even Jimmy expressed some frustration about the WNEW firing since he couldn't shill his shows for a little while.
