He's the King of Longing. He finally achieved his dream and is probably ruling over the entire world, but it's not enough because what made him truly happy is forever lost.I read this and thought "Thanks I hate it" because it sounds incredible cheesy and badly written. I was relieved when I found out that nope, this is not what's happening.
Nowhere does Griffith show remorse. He feels sad and lonely but his crimes aren't mentioned anywhere. This would be fucking bad writing. How would you even put all that on only 1 page??
"Sorry Guts & Casca that I raped Casca, sacrificed everyone and destroyed your lives." -The End.
Started Mawaru Penguindrum tonight for some strange reason. I'm already drawing parallels with Utena, so I hope it does its own thing as it goes along.
I'm not fussy over genres and willing to give most things a go if the story is good. I don't care for harem/waifu shit, miss me with that coomer stuff. What type of genres are you into? Also, do you read stuff on the scanlation sites?
alita was the first ova i watched as a kid through a distant cousin, Vol 5 was the first manga i ever bought at borders. there was a time and a place for it. I thought cameron's movie was a good adaptation. last order and Mars chronicles are interesting reads but they feel a bit fanfictiony. the original story is a good, self contained story. I haven't kept up with Mars Chronicles because the story feels like a reconned prequel. but i read the story 21 years ago. but theres been more cyberpunk stuff so it feels really dated. They have to maintain the rage somehow, now that Trump's out of office and everybody's looking at Biden's fuckups. Though I'd stop short of saying they came up with clever ways to maintain their rage.
Does anyone here read MHA, or is that too basic? One Punch Man? Battle Angel: Alita?
I'm glad that japanese sites still do the index-1.html thang, man, seeing a url like that brings me back

Western stuff isn't really big on the character sheets with bloodtype, horoscope, fav food, ect, but even minute characters get that in anime, so yeah I remember seeing birthday art since social media started, idols seem to get the same treatment from fans. One thing that I wonder about Anime/Manga, is it a normal thing for a certain character to get a ton of fanart drawn of them for their birthday? I see a lot of fanart of Kotori Minami from Love Live!, as her birthday is today. (September 12)
I also wonder why birthdays aren't as emphasized in Western Animation, as I don't remember seeing a cartoon character get lots of fanart drawn for their birthday. And in some cases, the character's birth date isn't even revealed. Also, does it seem like Anime/Manga characters have their full names revealed more often, given how it seems like a lot of cartoon characters don't have a last name, i.e. most of the contestants in the Total Drama series, except for the few character last names revealed as part of a gag/joke?
In Japan, there is a belief that blood types can predict a person's personality. I've heard it's also used as a shorthand way for the Japanese audience to immediately gauge a character's personality without outright telling them. It might be the same with birthdays, but sometimes they might just want to give a character a more fleshed out backstory. One thing that I wonder about Anime/Manga, is it a normal thing for a certain character to get a ton of fanart drawn of them for their birthday? Lol I was first introduced to this phenomenon in both the Pokémon and Digimon fandoms, but in interesting ways. For Pokémon, each monster practically has their own little fandom, but Mewtwo is unique in that on top of a pretty big following, he is the only Pokémon with a given birthday. So every year on February 6, you see posts, tributes, and fan-art and fanfics of him show up like clockwork. One thing that I wonder about Anime/Manga, is it a normal thing for a certain character to get a ton of fanart drawn of them for their birthday?
