Well just lost a bet with someone thinking a certain adaptation from M2 will be out before this shit

Also wonder how fast they'll disable ratings this time, 4 hours in and it's already off to a bad start.

It's dumb, but fun. Yuki is a pretty awful main character and I found the side cast was the biggest carry (especially Yuno who's probably the most well known from the series, personally liked Minene quite a bit). Ending was decent.

While I'm looking forward to it since part 6 has one of my favorite ends I'm not looking forward to the shitshow that's going to be around it with all their hot takes. Probably will be a lot of content for the farms made at least. Reminds me I have to actually finish up part 5 anime since I also enjoyed the manga for that one. Good thing about reading the parts in advance is that I can just skip the anime for the parts I wasn't a big fan of, like part 3.

Reminds me, I enjoyed part 4 but heard the anime adaption wasn't the best? I've been putting off watching through it because of it, so I'm just wondering if it actually isn't the best.

So this is apparently an announcement of a redub for the first 3 films which is bringing back a bulk of the original cast, which likely points to the 4th film also having a similar cast (unless they change it again). Gives me hope that for the upcoming blu-ray eva release they just go with the ADV dub instead of the awful Netflix one. There isn't just a small number of people that have zero interest unless it comes with the ADV dub and that's not even factoring the people not bothering if they can't get Fly me to the moon. Doesn't help the Netflix dub that it has an awful script that sounds super clunky in comparison to the pretty great localization by ADV.

Unless she has pet friends and transforms into a grown up, I doubt it. Maybe Raye grew up watching Minky Momo in Spanish back when she was still a girl, but it looks like your typical wacky anime hair color.

Justin originally mentioned on twitter that they wouldn't get the rights for the song, but has now deleted that tweet. On the blu-ray forums, he said to wait and see. I'm guessing they have it now. If you're interested and don't want to wait, someone uploaded the Japanese blu-rays with the ADV dubs on Nyaa and Internet Archive.

If I remember correctly, it was a mix of that and poor animation quality. Superfly was the most egregious in the regard. If I recall correctly, Josuke wins faster (causing a twinge of bathos) and the just the look of the episodes in the art was crusty. The anime was outsourced at times, iirc.

So this is apparently an announcement of a redub for the first 3 films which is bringing back a bulk of the original cast, which likely points to the 4th film also having a similar cast (unless they change it again). The new redub of the first 3 movies is only happening BECAUSE of the new (well… old) casting for 3.0+1.0, since Funimation botched 3.0 so bad that Khara forced them to redub it for the actual release. Once Amazon got the streaming rights for all 4 films (coming out in a week on Aug 13 free for Prime members, BTW) they presumably decided to re-dub the first three movies so there isn’t a jarring change in VA’s for the last movie.

Also, I wasn’t a fan of Stardust Crusaders but after watching the anime I’m enjoying it a lot more. The pacing feels a lot better and the animation easily makes it like ten times more entertaining.

It's an edgy cringefest à la Deadman Wonderland and just as incompetently written. The soundtrack is pretty decent though.

I just hate that its about Kaworu tbh. I wish it focused more on Rei, Mari, Asuka, Misato, Ritsuko, etc. Thankfully this looks to be rectified for 4.0

That and some of the other shit they've pulled. Consider, for example, the scene below and what it does to the characterization of the character. In Japanese, Lucoa is a confident "big-sister" type who is kind of ditzy, but secretly more clever than she lets on. In this scene, she's wearing tight clothing because "Hey, the humans told me to cover up. So I did. Looks fine, right?" and Tohru's response is poking fun at the fact the "root issue" is the fact that Lucoa has a bodacious body.
In English, it becomes a conversation between two fart-sniffing wokesters written by people who obviously don't know what living with big boobs is like.

Also, as a side note. I actually like the boobs in Dragon Maid. Not just for aesthetics, but because I am so sick of Hartman hips and boob-choppage in western media (not just animation).

It's so aweful it's beyond belief. Even besides the already notorious calarts face, the hands doing goat horns for no reason, the sword with the warped proportions, the gunt that makes to look the character pregnant, the disgusting boots, even the legs look like she either has turbo hips or she's a spider wearing human cliths.
On the other end of the scale, Madoka's design is perfect as she looks the most vannila magical girl heroine ever conceived.

Not so much here, but it's amazing how much angry fujoshis nailed down the idea you aren't allowed to enjoy boobs over the last decades. It's also hypocritic that nobody ever talks shit about the shitty design if fujoshi bait shows.
