Interesting. Should I go with the subs for Italian Adventure? I heard theres visual differences apparently as well.

I do love Miyuki Sawashiro...and I have Fujiko Mine bluray so...its not exactly like theres no Michelle entirely so to speak. (My headcanon is that the Italian Adventure takes place after Fujiko Mine series)

The films tho....definitely going to watch with subs because after seeing the trailer I hate that you can just tell its Vee and she isn't doing anything particularly noticeable to distinguish herself as Fujiko. Are they good films?

So I watched the entirety of Gleipnir in 2 sittings, there better be a second season for it. Also watched the 1st episode of Fire Force: Season 2, I enjoyed the levity of it. They need a need better intro song though.

Matter of fact, Laura Bailey got her start in anime.

Seriously, she was in a lot of Funimation-dubbed anime in the early 2000's

Still super mad that Kodocha did so poorly that they only dubbed the first half. Sana Kurata has to be my favorite Laura Bailey role. Also just learned that was Colleen Clinkenbeard as Misako Kurata, and really, the cast was perfect in the dub that I have an honest-to-God hard time getting into the second half because I have to watch it subbed now if I need to finish it. Also, the tone changed once Sana entered middle school so there's that, though the anime has its own anime ending, which probably isn't as melodramatic/serious as the manga's ending.

Minami-ke chapter 392 is out on your favourite scanlation site! What's interesting about this chapter is that there's what appears to be an official crossover with a certain famous cartoon character that's popular in Japan but only for the splash panel, he doesn't otherwise appear anywhere else in the chapter.

It has to be some kind of Disney cross-promotion, maybe for a contest. Is Disneyland Tokyo, where Stitch Encounter is a major attraction, reopening for the first time since everything shut down because of the pandemic?

Call me paranoid, but given Cristina Vee's extremely vocal support of KickVic and Michelle Ruff being in some unknown hot water with Funimation, I think this may or may not be tangentially related to some Weeb Wars autism behind the scenes

But Funimation isn't involved with the newest Lupin stuff. That's Discotek, and she was back as Fujiko for the dubs they produced.

True, but Ruff's issues with Funimation and Viz seem to be very recent, and we do know that the guys at Discotek are explicitly KickVic like Funimation and Rooster Teeth (Viz and Sentai are smart enough to not voice support for either side but also not give Vic any new work so they can cover their own asses until the court cases are over)

Also, a lot of the dubs Discotek releases are not actually produced by them but are usually newly relicensed dubs from defunct companies like Geneon/Pioneer, ADV, and Central Park Media or even expired licenses from the early days of Viz and Funimation

Depending on the series in question, she could've been in the dub because it was a Geneon dub from the late 90's/early 2000's and Discotek simply got the license to re-release it

This makes me sad since both intro songs to the first season was great. And Gleipnir was fucking awesome.

I'm holding out for the dub, it'll probably disappoint but I am what I am, and I'm reading the manga. Glad Fireforce was good. I binged S1 and the first half was amazing. Was this there first bad one? Inferno and the 2nd OP were pretty good.

Don’t get me wrong, I like it. But they fucking teased the intro song for a good minute and it’s disappointing. They better bounce back hard.

I mean, its hard to come back from this:

That’s true, but that was more or less lighting in the bottle, considering MayDay came ou before the anime and it fits thematically with it. I just don’t like being teased, as my gf would say.

Is the Manga of Gleipnir worthwhile? I am currently catching up on Demon Slayer

She was in a dub as Fujiko produced last year. Not to mention Discotek's doing all this independent of Funimation.

So should I watch the Italian Adventure dub? I read that the new girls JP voice is grating

Haganai is entry level seinen for those out there that are interested in the genre.

Well for me at least.

If anything, I think the seinen elements mixed with the moderate fan service make the show worth it.

I got into seinen thanks to CLANNAD lol but it was that plus Monster and Ghost in the Shell that pretty much sealed it for me even though I don't actively search out the genre. It just typically finds me, and I wholly appreciate it even though some of the seinen moé (loli) shows tend to weird me out. I do forget Initial D is seinen, and I'm still shocked Magical Girl Pretty Sammy is seinen just because it's a Tenchi Muyo spin-off (despite being shounen).

Nice choices.
I like Initial D. In fact, I didn’t know theRunning in the 90’s meme was based on the anime. The manga was great.

Fukumoto's works are great entry level seinen. Works even better for introducing normie/doomers to the good stuff.
