Was planning to skip ZZ cause I heard it was oddly comedic and pretty shitty, is it actually worth a watch?
IMO ZZ does comedy better than it does serious moments (Mashmyre is a hilarious villain) although Haman Karn is a great villain and Judau gets great character development.

There are episode guides out there for the episodes you need to watch for the more serious parts of the story, while ditching the less good parts. Tomino is not good at comedy.

Heero might be my favorite Gundam protagonist. he just refuses to act like a human being for most of the series and provides so much entertainment because of that. his relationship with Relena in the early episodes is so great. like when he tore up that invitation and threatened to kill her, or when he's dancing with her at that fancy prep school he infiltrated or wherever and she's all "so are you still gonna kill me" and he goes "lol yeah". watching Zeta, I can see where his insane post-murder laughter comes from. it's like the franchise was gradually building towards a child soldier protagonist as fucked up and entertaining as Heero.

best sunrise laugh ever
God I love Heero, I remember watching Wing the first time when I was like 12 and thinking he was the most badass character ever and then rewatching as an adult and laughing at just how over top it all is.

Gundam 0079 and After War Gundam X are the only two Gundam series that I really enjoyed.

- Z & ZZ had some good ideas but the execution of them was lacking and neither of them ended up being particularly good, especially with them being 50 & 47 episodes long.
- G-Gundam was entertaining yet ultimately just a very typical shonen anime but with Gundams.
- Turn A Gundam bored the Hell out of me. I've no problem with character and story focused anime but the characters and story need to be interesting. With Turn A, though, I found everything just boring as Hell.
- Wing was okay. I think the second half suffers from it become the Heero Yuy show and even though it focuses a lot on his relationship with Relena, that relationship never fucking goes anywhere.
- 00 had a terrific first season but then a horribly disappointing mediocre second one. Never even bothered to watch the Trailblazer film.

Cartoon Network’s late night programming did themselves a huge disservice not showing this along with Space Dandy. My high school life would be a lot different if I saw this years ago.

Granted it would be dubbed, but it still would have been nice.

Looks like theres two lupin voice casts

Wtf why is Cristina Vee playing Fujiko? Fucking miscast. The laura Bailey of anime

Is this for a new thing? Didn't they get the old voice cast back for the newest show?

Those were for the Koike films, the first of which was dubbed before Discotek brought back the original cast for most of the other Lupin stuff they dubbed.

Is the Italian Adventure good? Does Fujiko appear a lot? Which movies is she most prominent in?

So there's two separate versions dub and sub because TMS was being evil. The dub apparently based on italian version with different music
But I heard the Japanese version has issues.

Which version of Lupin 4th series should I get? I'm torn

The Japanese version cuts out two episodes for reasons I don't think have really been delved upon, but it does give us a version of the classic intro the series is known for unlike the one the Italian version uses.

I don't know why TMS made the English dubbers use the Itailian version, but it feels like something selfish or stupid behind the scenes was what influenced that decision. Honestly, I've only seen the Japanese version, so I can't really say what's truly different between that and the original beyond the obvious.

That doesn’t make much sense considering Laura Bailey’s done some anime roles.

Matter of fact, Laura Bailey got her start in anime.

Seriously, she was in a lot of Funimation-dubbed anime in the early 2000's

Call me paranoid, but given Cristina Vee's extremely vocal support of KickVic and Michelle Ruff being in some unknown hot water with Funimation, I think this may or may not be tangentially related to some Weeb Wars autism behind the scenes

Wait what happened to Michelle?
