People seem fairly divided on the FLCL sequels. But then again, they haven’t finished airing.

In other news, this looks extremely stupid in the awesomely fun way.

Tbh it looks worse than J-Stars. The graphics are really great and I like that they're taking advantage of the Unreal engine to do stage destruction and transitions, but the gameplay itself looks so clunky and bad.
There’s actually some gameplay videos out. It’s a tad clunky, but it’s also early footage so stuff may change.

I don’t look for much in an anime fighter. Just be fun to play and make stuff look awesome.

From the rarity dept. an airing of a 60's Japanese cartoon (dubbed in English of course) via a local station in Chicago in the mid 70's (with a kiddie show host)!

Am I going crazy, or are they really singing
"Oh all the things he'll do
to Sonichuuu~"

at roughly 31s?
It's "will astonish you", but thanks for that!

Speaking of astonish, I see this is making the rounds simply because the young'uns have compared this to Club Penguin, while the older generation had previously confused the design of the main character for being in a popular Konami video game or two. I'm seeing a few memes pop up here and there now.

^ Does "Roadshow" mean it'll be one of those movies that's only about an hour long because it'll be shown at screenings tied together with another anime franchise film?

The three Sailor Moon movies from the mid-1990s were "Roadshow" films.

The term "Roadshow" used to had a very different meaning in the US when films were given exclusive engagement in selected cities. The way Japan uses it is quite different. Films like those "Dragon Ball Z" movies were often shown as part of Toei's "Cartoon Festival" screenings that combined different series/films together in one festival compilation that were screened during the spring and summer breaks in Japan.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about, the "Cartoon Festival" screenings or similar double-features.

I think at least one of the Sailor Moon movies was paired with a Slam Dunk film but Dragonball Z also seems like a likely "Roadshow" matchup, since they're all Toei.

iirc Roadshow is for non anime, too.
Like I think Love and Pop's trailer mentions a roadshow date

And now, an out-of-context anime image (again--actual trashy anime this time, this scene just made me snort):

Hey, folks, how many of you are aware that The Castle of Cagliostro is now on Netflix?

Yep, I watched it and loved it. It amazes me how they inch Lupin III on technologically without giving a single fuck. I loved the film as it was like watching very similar TV shows (especially british ones) of the 60s and 70s when WW2 guns and weird shit like Gyrocopters were the norm. Usually with Simon Templar punching a swarthy looking bloke in a fez while in the south of France.

I've also caught up a bit on Lupin III Part 4 and watched most of the currently airing part 5. I think I like Zenigata in P5 more as they seem to be doing a little bit more with him than him screaming "LUPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN" angrily 30 times an episode.

Meanwhile, MHA did the United States of SMASH and dear lord did I love it:

Welp, Tokyo Ghoul:re’s ending is about as cliche and saccharine as you could expect. Totally not unsatisfying at all. Way to follow in Kishimoto and Kubo’s footsteps, Ishida.
