But how're the shippers handling it? He'd be truly following in their footsteps if shippers are screeching about their OTP not coming true.

In other news, part 5 is finally confirmed

Good timing, as I just reached episode 10 of Stardust Crusaders and will still have time to watch Diamond is Unbreakable throughout the summer.

Welp, Tokyo Ghoul:re’s ending is about as cliche and saccharine as you could expect. Totally not unsatisfying at all. Way to follow in Kishimoto and Kubo’s footsteps, Ishida.
Is it like, THE END? Or just ending this part and making another one?

Pretty sure it’s the end for good, most major plot points were tied up. (Rushed as fuck but still.) Unless, of course, Ishida anounces plans for a TG version of Boruto.

Shit man, was really looking forward to bingeing on it.

Kids' Anime Shinkalion Goes Full Eva, Megumi Ogata Reprises Shinji Role

Over the last few months, the kids' sci-fi mecha show Shinkalion began its slow evolution into Neon Genesis Evangelion. Originally the anime was planning to only air a referential episode to send off the Evangelion bullet train. The train was ending service in May, and seeing as the 500 TYPE EVA train already collaborated with Takara Tomy's Shinkanlion toy line in October, it would make for a fitting tribute.

The episode aired on May 5, but Shinkalion has decided to that its homage isn't quite done. The series' 31st episode will add Neon Genesis Evangelion's perpetually depressed protagonist Shinji Ikari when it airs on August 11. Just like the original show, voice actress Megumi Ogata will voice the character.

Alongside the announcement, Ogata said she had initially assumed someone else would play Shinji in the anime because she had yet to receive an offer. However, an offer came around the time when she had forgotten about it, and she was happy to get the role. She added that "The Shinji written in the script feels like more of a young man than usual, so I intended to make him a bit more of an adult," but she had to adapt to sound director Masafumi Mima's directions. Ogata also noted that the Evagelion seen in the anime is "also different from Unit 01," and it has more of a robot feel.

The new episode will again feature the transforming 500 TYPE EVA train with Shinji as its pilot.

Neon Genesis Evangeliondirector Hideaki Annowelcomed the collaboration when it was first announced and said he especially wanted to watch the transformation. Anno is a train fan himself, and he and original mechadesigner Ikuto Yamashitaworked directly on the 500 TYPE EVA train project.

The Shinkalion anime series premiered in Japan on January 6. The anime may just be fulfilling its self-titled destiny. The title "Shinkalion" written in katakana is "シンカリオン" while Evangelion is "エヴァンゲリオン". Despite different pronunciations in English, both share "lion" in the title. Shinkalion could simply be a portmanteau "shinkansen" and "Evangelion."

It's really really hilarious that the happiest robot cartoon in decades is doing an Eva crossover.

Something Witty Entertainment just posted a preview for the next episode of Sword Art Online Abridged.

Along with a preview of their next Abridged Series:

Something from the 2000s.

Anyone remember Kiddy Grade?

I fucking love the opening theme. Back in 2008 I bought the entire DVD set and I still remember the marathon my girlfriend and I did when we watched the series on the PS2.

The other series of which I have the complete DVD set that we marathoned on the PS2 as well would be Tokko.
It was fun but too short IMO. We still don't even have the full versions of both the opening and ending themes after all these years.

What I'm reading from info sources is that this movie doesn't tie into the original ones, meaning while this Broly is canon, he's going to be changed significantly.

I can hear the Broly fans screaming themselves into conniptions from here. If there's anything I've learned about Dragon Ball fags, it's that they hate even the slightest change if it doesn't conform to the universe (lol) or their own wants. And the schism between Z and Super fans is already huge enough as it is, this is just going to make it worse.

Yeah, a lot of them got really upset with that Dragon Ball Minus oneshot.

Of course the first movie we get with actually good animation is a Broly movie.
doooooooooooooooooooooooooooood that's gonna be dank af

I hope it comes out fairly soon after in the USA. Mazinger Infinity was pretty quick, like a month or two after the Japanese release, wasn't it?

To be fair Minus took Goku's origin and made him even more of a Superman clone.

Toei has said their intent is they want to release this worldwide ASAP, and considering that Dragon Ball has never been more popular than it is now, I feel like it might have a same-day theater release in as many countries as they can get it.
