Is the new brain rot deer show actually good or is it just meme of the month?
Haven't even looked in its direction so I couldn't say, I'm guessing it will be forgotten pretty quick.
Yeah, Lodoss started off as an adaptation of D&D (in a series of Replays published in a gaming magazine), eventually spawning the more-popular-in-japan-than-d&d TRPG Sword World, which became the core of so many japanese versions of western fantasy tropes. Pig orcs, dog kobolds, stuff like that. It would certainly be an interesting project to try and trace its lineage both backward, through the western media that inspired it, and forward, through the media inspired by it.
The exalt brand that Chrom from FE Awakening has on his shoulder looks like an edited version of the symbol on that old priestess' head from Lodoss. There's the entire conceit of humans making blood pacts with divine/fell dragons and gaining superpowers (though that concept goes way back to Siegfried lore). There's super powered swords being connected to dragons etc. And look at Tactics Ogre, there's factions like Lodis with knightly orders called Loslorien which seems to reference both Lodoss AND Lothlorien from LOTR.

the filter is busted because they keep coming back and bitching about it instead of leaving. More creators need to pull aggressively anti-normie bullshit like Fujimoto. Fire off those rent-lowering shots so people don't have to hear dogshit zoomer opinions
It's just amazing how they keep watching the same shows, complaining about them and they freak out over the dumbest stuff to freak out about. Not even explicit stuff, it's like, female characters being depicted with breasts seems to trigger them. Not exposed breasts, or pendulous oversized busts, just regular breasts, concealed by clothing. And asses as well. Thin waists, etc. Shock, horror, that character is drawn wearing something that exposes an inch of cleavage! Somebody needs to stop Japan from making this sick gooner filth!

So I finally watched the Boy and the Heron today.

AND I'M SO CONFUSED!!

To quote AVGN : WHY?! WHAT?! WHY?! This is my least favorite Ghibli movie and that's sad because the animation is fantastic, as always. But the story is a giant steaming pile of parakeet poop. What was Miyazaki smoking?

And this is the same man who gave his son shit for his bad Earthsea anime. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Entertaining enough but can't really hold a candle to other silly comedies like Ika Musome (also a monster girl show) or Asobi Asobase (for relatively blunt comedy).

There are gamers who cheat in multiplayer just to predictably stomp other players. Their interest is not in sharing with your interest, but destroying it. The bitching is the goal and their entertainment. Their viewership is only a necessity to obtain the information to superficially socialize about it.

is RWBY considered an anime or a cartoon? I placed it in the show category of my server (as Sonarr requires a second instance that distinguishes between english content and japanese/foerign language content) but got told to put it in with the anime

Amenime (American Anime, basically a cartoon). However, it did have a legitimate anime that was somehow better than the actual series despite being extremely convoluted.

If you enjoy Nichijou or Azumaga Daioh or just a fan of Bizzare/random humor in general, then It's a thumbs up from me.

I put it on the same category as ATLA and The Boondocks do, a Anime influenced American Cartoon. While RWBY might have some anime influence on it's animation style much of it's aspects/storyline/worldbuilding are still mostly American media Influenced.
They do actually, on some parts at least for me, god listening to Your name stuff again makes me feel nostalgic for some reason...brings me back to a better time...

I have a question, is there an "our guy" in anime or manga? Specifically an anime director or mangaka who hates pedophiles specifically? There's such a glut of pedophiles in anime & manga, I'm just wondering if there's anyone who's the opposite?

I finally finished the anime of Helck, now getting through the manga which I started a while ago but never finished. It has spirit. Like a lot of it. And it dares to be a dark fantasy story with minimal anime tropes while still being a anime. It reminded me a lot of BONE honestly. In all the best ways, especially story. They need to choose a better studio for S2 though, it's a sin the corners they cut in the fights. Recommend.

Tomino, probably, since he HATES pantyshots and lolicon (to the extent where Haman was made to insult the Minky Momo-loving lolicons and Quess as a criticism of lolicon in general) and constantly gave Miyazaki guff for being a lolicon.

When you say Miyazaki, you don't mean Hideo Miyazaki from studio Ghibli?
