The robot was a total bro, and I liked the hero having ridiculous tech that's better than anything else, yet still needing to acclimate to society. I don't remember anything tree hugging besides general coexistence or talking about colonialism, like the humans exist by not messing with the jellyfish but it isn't portrayed like the jellyfish are right or natural part of the world. I's definitely not something as bad as Eureka 7.What genre molds? It's a run-of-the-mill wish-fulfilment fantasy and another take on the 'noble savage'/'evil colonialist' tropes, riddled with more tree-hugging nonsense than whatever Greta Thunberg ever stood for. The only people who flock to Gargantia are coomers who are into 12-14-year-old girls - no wonder, because the character designer mostly draws hentai. Only the robot was cool.
