I mean general Asian culture issues Japan has, not demographic issues. Japanese have way more stringent social rules, can be blacklisted permanently from work for being seen as problematic and are stuck their entire life either grinding education or work. Plus Japanese have way less access to psychiatrists in general.

Western NEETs have way more support infrastructure compared to Japanese ones, and as long as you don't get a criminal record you aren't entirely fucked out of the workforce.

Also another point is that not having a relationship stopped being an issue exclusive to otakus.

I honestly can't relate. I've been working as long as I've been a adult. The notion someone pays for every little thing in your existence is sickening.

Its why i like Fate. Shiro fucking works his ass off at multiple jobs, knows how to cook, mostly lives on his own, has a hair color other than black, and when life gets hard, he gets tough. THAT is a character I can relate, or at least aspire to. A NEETs life sounds like fucking hell.

Jap culture is like completely parallel to amerimutt culture just like europeans have a parallel culture to amerimutt culture. Amerimutts dont get this usually especially the zoomer communists cause they simp for globalism while the boomers and genxers are elitists wondering why the barbaric yellow people wont be like them. Japanese Internet and Meme culture is an outgrowth of 80s and 90s Japan where the genxers and zoomers were for the first time trying to one up the boomers while the boomers didnt like it. Its like America but its a lot more nuanced than just "fuck boomers" cause it was a very respectful counterculture for the most part. With 2chan and the flash neko culture, it was a lot more complex and a lot more crazy than western internet then, even today jap internet is a lot more complex crazy and free than modern western internet. Anitubers and almost all "japanese" youtubers are sjw huwhite men or west simps, they shouldnt be considered paragons of jap culture.

I mean I don't really consider anituber's 'paragons'. At BEST they're cheap news and entertainment; tabloids if you will.

I've definitely noticed a difference in internet culture through their older media, VN's and a like; both respectful and raunchy enough that it wouldn't have flown if it was mainstream in the west at the time.

I don't think it's perfect though; they never had CoD Xbox 360 lobbies.

As someone that loves Full Metal Panic, this is cool to see. I keep forgetting that Chidori would end up starting a family with Sousuke, so I do hope that this one is good to read. It makes me wish we had another FUMOFFU sequel.
 
Every new years eve I do something anime related. This year I binged the Heaven’s Feel manga in 3.5 hours. 91 chapters out. My eyes hurt.

Even though it’s next week, the anime premiere for Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! is both making excited and nervous at the same time. I really want to like this anime version since the last few chapters have really been well done from a storytelling standpoint.

If we’re lucky, this could be the best gal since Nagatoro came onto the scene almost three and a half years ago. Either way, I just don’t want to be let down.
