It starts off with a delinquent 19-year old freeter who gets the chance to work in a private security firm, but sooner or later, he realizes that this is not your typical private security firm as he gets caught up in a shitty situation that will change his life.
I'm not going to spoil you because this manga is a really fun read.
Reading it now and this is something else. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing yet. I do wish delinquent manga chilled on the hairstyles though.

I hope I can read your thoughts once you're finished with it.

Japanese gangs love to dye their hair and style it. Been that way for decades.

Finished watching Mezzo Forte and it was great, is Mezzo DSA similar to it in fight style and tone?
Sorta. They sadly had to tone down the violence, and some episodes are better than others. It also retcons the OVA at one point, though I don't think it did so in an irredeemable way. It's been a while since I saw it, honestly don't really desire to rewatch it like with the OVA.

Coincidentally enough, I just watched the original OVA a few hours ago. The DSA dipped in animation quality, though.
It is expected tho, since it was an OVA Versus TV.
The first sex scene in the first episode was so out of nowhere it was kinda funny. I was enjoying it a lot and it was so sudden, it was strange.
The second sex scene in the second episode was better introduced in the plot.

I saw DSA first not knowing about the OVA or the sex stuff. Interesting thing to discover

Later this year we will have another new gundam.
I really doubt it will surpass Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise.

I watched episode 25 more than 20 times, it is so fucking good it makes me mad.

It is kinda sad since it is the fourth series and a sequel to a previous one, it is the least watched when it is simply the best one.

A bit late to the party, but do i need to watch the 2007, 2009 and 2012 Evangelion movies to understand the 3.0+1.0? are they part of the same continuity since I hear 1.0 is a retelling with different characters in an alternative timeline, are the films other than End of Eva canon at all? I know the series canon is ridiculously convoluted but are they generally accepted as direct continuations after the first film?

Without getting into the finer points of continuity, the Rebuilds are effectively their own separate storyline. 1.0 is closer to a retelling of that portion of the original series, 2.0 starts to go off the rails, 3.0 and 3.0+1.0 are completely divorced from anything that happened in the originals.

The canon actually isn't complicated at all. It's just two completely separate continuities, with NGE 1-24 + EOE being the complete original story and the four Rebuild movies being a new canon. So yes, you really should watch the entire Rebuild series at the very least.

That being said the Rebuilds on their own are honestly kind of a mess. It's only potentially interesting when viewed as Anno's metatextual response/reflection on the incredibly bleak End of Evangelion, and even then it's marred by the deeply flawed execution. So I dunno how much you'd get out of it if you haven't actually watched NGE+EOE first.

Adding onto the other replies, I would say that it's still a good idea to watch episodes 25 and 26 before watching End of Evangelion. It's very much "our budget ran out" and a lot of monologues over static scenes, but it's still interesting to use as a point of comparison when you watch EoE. Plus, you also get context as to why fans were angry enough to send death threats to Hideaki Anno, which Gainax included in EoE. But the two are so different that you won't really feel like you're completely retreading the same ground if you watch both.

You'll also miss out on the memes about the original ending if you skip it.

Do not be a bitch and skip movies, and yes you have to watch it all. And the rebuild is a metasequel no matter what other says.

The budget never ran out, this is fake news. They had problems with time to make the episode, not money. And time being a problem also carried to the movies too, since they kept changing things and their overall plans.
Also, some time ago I finished reading ANIMA, it is one of my favorite evangelions, but I sure did wish they have an proper epilogue to the story.

(Potential autistic rant inbound)

I'd rather not go on yet another long tangent on my thoughts regarding the Rebuild films and the franchise in general, so I'll just say that the original and EoE are must watches, but not necessarily works that you may like. They did set the standard for anime today, but they also have many elements that are divisive, and in my honest opinion, simply don't hold up.

In that regard, the Rebuild films, while going in their own path, share many of those problems. For me at least, 1.0 is just okay, 2.0 is the apex of the entire franchise (yes, bite me), 3.0 isn't bad, but also extremely mean-spirited and brings in all the problems I personally had with the original series, and 3.0+1.0 falls somewhere in the middle of it all, having some of the highest highs, yet still not feeling like the most satisfactory kind of ending they could've gone for.

Like, to compare Rebuild to one of my favorite films, the first two films put together are like the first Matrix installment, 3.0 is a lot like Reloaded in terms of subversion and themes, and 3.0+1.0 is nearly a copy-paste of Revolutions, right down to several of the major plot beats (hope that doesn't spoil anything). And hilariously, 3.0+1.0 then feels like it influenced Resurrections.

They had to re-write/do a chunk of the series because of similarities to the Aum Shinrikyo subway gas attacks that happened while the show was running. I still think 25+26 are fantastic.

What do you mean by these?

2.0 is also my favorite, but I Rank them like this: 2.0 > 3.0 > 3.0 + 1.0 > 1.0
I actually really like the whole new world that 3.0 gives us, but sadly not much is explored about it, but they do give pieces and bits about what happened in this world and how things work in shin.

there are lots of elements that most people don't even think about but I really want to know more about it.

Watch 3.0+1.0 without watching the rest and report back. For science.
