Isn't it the same cast as the old Adult Swim dub?
Yes, though the cast isn't problem, at least in the way you think.
(Also anorak moment; It's the Pioneer/Geonon dub of Part 2, adult swim only aired season 1. Also Zenigata got a new dub VA for Part 4 onwards because Dan Lorge retired.)
Quality went down.
You can say that again.
What's wrong with it?
What's wrong with it? Tony Oliver and Richard Epcar are the greatest Lupin and Jigen duo of all time. Didn't watch Part 6 dubbed though.
Season 1 of Part 6 takes place in London, features Sherlock Holmes as a main character and has characters who work at Scotland Yard, HQ of the Metropolitan Police, you can't get anymore stereotypically British unless every character drank tea 24/7. All of the characters speak with American accents.

Finished up Lain earlier today. It's very good - as good as I expected it to be. I'm going to be upfront and say there were a couple of things that were lost on me, particularly on Lain herself, as much as I liked her. This definitely calls for a re-watch or two.

I'm listening to the OST as I write this. I find that when I enjoy a show, I find myself digging into its soundtrack, too, to further immerse myself in the atmosphere. "Lain's Theme", "Far Cry", "Pulse Beat", "Free Zone", and "Wind of Space and Time" (that one may be my favorite, along with "Lain's Theme" and "Duvet"), "Duvet", and "Signal of Loneliness" are tracks that stick out to me.

I then started up Gurren Lagann, out of just curiosity. On episode two, and it's pretty fucking funny, with Simon and Kamina being easy to like. Yoko's pretty dope, too. Am looking forward to see what happens next.

Oh man, Gurren Lagan is fucking great. It really hits a killer pace after that first quarter of episodes.

I've been meaning up to watch the movie versions, since I already watched the TV version.

I legit forgot they had those robots in the movie. Kinda feel like they only made the movies (second one especially) just to be a bit more explicit in nature compared to the TV show.

I recommend the movies. The first one is much more of a summery of the first half with a different ending and improved animation for big moments, while the second one changes a lot more and goes super crazy with the final battle. I’d say the only negative of the second movie is it’s missing the “Clench Your Teeth!” moment from the anime. That shit was awesome.

Just finished watching Kotaro wa Hitorigurashi (Kotaro Lives Alone).
The anime was great, and each episode were pretty heavy emotional-wise with some light-hearted scenes to go along.
One of the many Netflix-licensed anime that's actually good!

>"I don't want Yuuta to grow up thinking it's acceptable to break the rules."
stern, well-meaning fathers, why do yyu tug at my heartstrings like this

Movie 1 is pretty pointless, but Movie 2 changes a bunch of things from the TV version and has some nice alternate scenes/ending. It definitely stands on its own even though the TV version will always win to me because of nostalgia.

The opening scene of the first movie and the finale of the second aside, I always found the Tv series better. Worth a watch after you finish though

Percy Jackson? Didn't that movie come out over a decade ago?
Anyway, from what I've heard, the whole series got pozzed to hell anyway. Get your kid reading the Bartimeaus Trilogy instead.
New thing being made. They raceswapped the main girl. In the books she’s described as “blonde hair, blue eyed”. In new thing she’s black.
