my fav pirate site suggested an anime about highschool kids in a eating club running for election, what is wrong with japanese?
Unlike the west who just start rebooting when they run out of ideas, the Japanese start throwing random shit they know at a wall until something sticks.

Just look at something like Orc Hero Story. The author took Guts, the virgin wizard meme, and the hentai stereotype about orcs being rapists and wrote it into a story.

i started watching and i realy dont understand anything! the anime starts with a journalist girl getting killed with a car, half the characters are in love with the main character, there is family drama, political drama and a turbogay twink. also some strange face features only the main charcter sees and a girl that acts like a lazy cat...

Looking it up,
based on an adult vn
That probably explains it.

does that mean woman pulp book?
am i falling for japanese telenovellas or is this some kind of way too get around censorship?
A visual novel is basically a book made into a videogame where sometimes you can make choices that effect the story.

An adult visual novel is when the choices can lead to graphic sex and/or violence.

you're in 2022 and you don't know what a VN is? Think steins;gate on steam.
i only use steam for real games....

yeah i know these kind of boooks in the western version, they suck...

that explains alot.

but at the half way point, i will recomment the show, its alot of stuff packed into 12 short episodes and it workes fine.
just dont be a degenerate.....

Angel’s Egg was actually the gateway to researching 80’s anime OVAs and obscure movies that were very experimental for its time. If anything, it says a lot that in current day we can never have anything as interesting as Angel’s Egg come out today.
A little late, but I forgot to post a response to this post.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I watched Angel's Egg, albeit it took me another try to sit down and actually absorb the content in the OVA. The themes the director conveyed was a little hard to understand (even cheated a little bit by reading the interview posted on here so I could "get" it), but I've realized how spoiled I've been with the by-the-numbers Western cartoons and Shounen I grew up with. I'm not above digging through older works and try to introduce myself to more difficult content that is one: critically acclaimed and two: something that is a little outside of my comfort zone.

Well-known movies like Akira (I've only seen that once and it was dubbed. Regret it to this day), Ghost in the Shell, Studio Ghibi's Princess Mononoke and Grave of the Fireflies are only skimming the surface, but I've enjoyed them for what they were. I could go for another viewing, now that I'm a little older.

Started reading Digimon V-Tamers manga. Its been quite nostalgic so far.

V-tamers is easily the best piece of the digimon franchise, and none of the other series compares to it. The crossovers it had with season 2, 3, and 4 were great.

Another great episode, Shamibros. Can't stop winning
