Skin colour in dubs is irrelevant, shouldn't people be happy they're using a different actress than Monica Rial or Stephanie Sheh or whichever other dub voice actresses are overused these days as a female lead character for a change?

I presume this is Kimberly Anne Campbell as Dawn in this collection of Dawn being "sassy" in Pokémon Masters.


She sounds fine, meaning I wouldn't be able to guess the skin colour of the actress just from the character's voice. I know the English dub sounds very stilted compared to anime dubs meant for older audiences but it's been like that since the 1990s and isn't the fault of the actresses.

CORRECTION: Oh, sorry, she's only Dawn in the game.


Kimberly Anne Campbell's voice in character still sounds fairly neutral to me (not that there's much here to go on compared to the anime version).

I was really worried that Crunchyroll was going to be like "Uzaki is basically the same thing as Nagatoro, lets give it to her." But the VA they got is doing it justice even if I think her voice isn't perfect for the role.

Speaking of Uzaki, since she is voiced by Naomi Oozora in Japanese, I wonder if that means that, if The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated should also get an English dub, we'd get Monica Rial as Jahy (also voiced by Oozora) opposite Kimberly Anne Campbell as "Magical Girl" Kyouko Jingu (voiced in Japanese by Sumire Uesaka who is also the voice of Hayase Nagatoro)?

True patrician tastes is admitting that Seed is actually good and not just whining about the Japanse having shit tastes with it still being one of the most popular gundam series over there instead of whatever your favorite gundam is. Too many people still seethe over the idea of Seed being good/popular even after all these years.

Destiny sadly had its potential squandered with some of the bizarre writing decisions, especially regarding Shinn's character. Most I'll say in praise is I like the design of the Destiny Gundam.

I wish I could enjoy the series because it has a lot going for it, but Kou and Nina are just awful. I can't stand the two of them, which has made it almost impossible for me to get through 0083. Why couldn't it focus on his friend Keith instead and his infinitely better romance with Mora?

In the end it doesn't matter since a black actress is as close to japanese voice as a white actress. As long as the intonation is not full on ebonics no one should give a shit but this fucking culture war is neverending and outwore its welcome a decade ago.
