So just out of curiosity, does anyone here happen to have information on the (clearly cheap) U.S. distribution of Hyper Police, an obscure series from the '90s that Pierrot adapted in '97? Some unicorn in my home state had the DVDs they sold to a local thrift store I ended up picking up, but looking into it has me running into brick walls. There's like nothing about this series, closest I can get is that back in 2002, Image Entertainment (now RLJ Entertainment) got the license from this M3 Entertainment Corporation for the dub and sub distribution rights, and released them onto six cheap DVDs presumably to no fanfare. These DVDs give me "catalogue/website purchase only" vibes due to how cheap they look on top of lack of volume numbers. The only known voice-actor is Dorothy Elias-Fahn, but it wasn't through the credits themselves, of which there are no English credits given.
Tokyopop released the manga back in 2005 to 2007, some years after the anime's U.S. release, but they weren't behind the anime. Spain was apparently the only other Western country to have known of the series and might have a small following.
There is a defunct fan-site, but even that has scarce information.
This is just to satiate a curiosity of mine and a friend's, but I can at least safely say that Hyper Police may be the most obscure title I have on my shelf to date.
