I've got to say the new season of Lupin is just bad. The previous seasons had some sort of twist to make it interesting and have some sort of a overall narrative but the episodes feel overly random and mainly filler. The description of the season makes it sounds like it will have Holmes as a rival but he's barely in it and the episodes themselves don't even reference famous stories or have any mystery in them.

Sailor Moon Says was wiped off youtube by copyright so I don't care about any anitubers other than that, the king is already dead

I hope some other hero decides to start uploading HD clips of the original dub, I miss it
what was sailor moon says? did they clean up the animation from the old VHS dub?

Either that or they had access to a really high quality release of it.
The videos were short and the video names were usually jokes too like 'Ami talks cooler than me' is a clip of Mercury using very odd slang
It was a channel that would upload random clips of the dub because the dub has hilarious out-of-context stuff. I will miss spamming Amara's "No, please, don't take my wheels!" ngl.
For me its when Jedite (i think) catches Artemis and his gasp fades out like he's falling down a pit

+1 for the Wararu Salesman reference.

Still proud that I watched the 1988 version half way through its entire season. I’m willing to argue that it was far more dramatic than it was comedic.

I'm still gradually making my way through it. It's a really good episodic series so I don't want to burn through it all at once.

The comedy is definitely more in the cosmic sense rather than haha funny, but I do laugh sometimes, either because of one off jokes or because the irony of the mark's fate was so perfect. Sometimes it's even cute, I loved seeing Moguro drunk, or worried when his mark walked off leaving him with the restaurant bill.

So the live action cowboy bebop series got cancelled.
I'm surprised they were planning more seasons since from the screenshots I've seen it looks like they covered all the plot there was in the anime.
LOL at budget, it all looked so cheap, the sets, the costumes, even the makeup on jet's actor was shit.

Seems netflix its running out of cash if they can't afford a shit series that still somehow gets a 60% rating from its viewership, although you could argue its a pathetic score given how they banned ratings on their app and you can't even see if a show sucks or not.

Ok I don't know why I felt like torturing myself today, but I willing sat down and watched the first live action kaiji movie and surprisingly enough I found it bearable
-It starts the same as the anime/manga where Kaiji gets into to massive debt and is given a chance to board Espior, which brings me to the first major change the movie made, Endou is now a chick. This probably would of bothered me more if I wasn't already numb to the endless amount of race and gender swaps in modern adaptations
- The rules for Restricted RPS is exactly the same but its on a much smaller scale and the way it plays out is different. Kaiji does get scammed by Funai and ends up forming a team afterwards to get back at him but its not with Furuhata and Andou, just with Ishida, which I'm OK with since it makes the next game more impactful.
-They decided to cut most of the card counting/economy from the series and go with the same method he used to later win E-Card. ngl I thought this was stupid when it first happened but might of changed my mind due to later events.
-Anyway this is where the first truly stupid thing happened, just like the series they get screwed over because of the one extra card, but for some reason they both get sent to the back room which kinda breaks the rules for the game, but maybe I can just chalk it up to Teiai being assholes
-Flashforward and Kaiji and Ishida are underground labor camp and after a brief cameo by Otsuki leads straight to brave man road which is now a one shot opportunity to get out. It plays out exactly the same aside from the fact that Sahara gets absolutely gutting in terms of having a characters and there is no glass staircase. But the moment with Ishida actually hit somewhat because he played more of a role in RPS
-And know we come to E-Card which is mostly the same but with a few major changes
-Kaiji runs out of money like the series, but instead of betting using a torture device he takes a loan from Endo
-There was a new thing where Tonegawa was watching Kaiji during restricted RPS and up losing because of the same reasoning from the series albite heavily condensed. which is why I'm still mixed on them using the same method twice. Also there is no iron plate Tonegawa is forced to kneel on, he's just sent to the labor camp.
-And that's it, there is no game with Hyodo, and Kaiji walks away a hole lot richer
-Except remember that Loan Kaiji took from Endo, yeah they screws him over the exact same way they did at the end of the bog.... So kaiji is now in the exact same situation as before except minus the massive debt and add a potential high stakes gambling addiction

Overall it did cut and condense a lot, but it wasn't horrible, there where a few point I thought where dumb, but a few that did translate decently, the actor who played Tonegawa was probably the best out of the lot with the lady who played Endo being the worst, and the guy who played Kaiji was somewhere in-between (was still weird seeing him without a jew nose and mullet though)

Finally caught up to PSTD Radio, now that is on hiatus. Kinda lame tho, I am happy that the author is focusing on another series that is much more to my liking to this long ass story that goes nowhere.

It's a layered thing, like how the first chapter with the girl getting her hair cut is just sort of uncomfortable at first, but then you start to learn more about the hair god, how it was worshipped, and how its statue was desecrated. There's a few chapters that don't make sense until you've read a few more chapters, and the overall progression is tied the reader's gradually increasing understanding of what was happening. I can see why that would be annoying but I like that it makes things spookier in retrospect, like only finding out you survived a near death experience after the fact. It felt like it was gonna pick up in scale in that respect with everything layering into some bigger event with the hair god and some horrible reveal, we would get to see whatever fucked up thing was gonna happen after the psychic saw an upside down ghost over every house, but then he gave up and stopped releasing volumes. It's like if Uzumaki stopped before the town was really in danger.

It is sad but the best stories in the whole series were the autobiographical ones.

Lets hope someone translate the new fuan no tane series. It is already 3 volumes.

The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You

This manga almost made stay up until four in the morning, based on this recent chapter that I read:

For the first time, I actually admit that if they’d decide to turn this into anime, I don’t know how they will be able to animate this. The scenes in question were much more funny – the over the top hysteria mixed with the childlike emotion will be too much that not even viewers will handle it.

I’m telling you guys that this is much more than a comedy.
I’m not convinced that this isn’t just obscure fetish fuel pretending to be ironic. The diaper shit was just a little too much.

Stone Ocean do I have to know anything about the series beforehand?
Part 6 is probably the part (in my opinion) that needs you to have read/watched all the previous parts and not just ones it directly references like Part 3. It acts as a sort of 'send-off' to everything that came before it and I can't see it having the same emotional impact were you to jump right into it or only read Part 3.

I'd compare it to something like Gundam Unicorn where you don't need to have watched any UC gundam to enjoy it, but a lot of the impact of the conflict and references will not do as much for someone with no background knowledge.

Agreed, if you haven’t watched the other parts yet you’re going to be real confused as to why characters sometimes suddenly have powers that they don’t have later, somehow forget to use their powers when it would seem to be the obvious thing to do, why characters act like no human being that has ever existed and most importantly why none of that really matters because things will happen as Araki has written them regardless of how they contradict things he’s already said or done. You think King Crimson is bad? Woo boy White Snake is a trip.

I for one am very excited to see gay priest finally getting the love he deserves, probably my favorite of the villains. Wonder if any anime-onlys are going to rage when he wins and resets everything.

Reminds me that I have to actually start back up watching jojo since I think I was half way through watching part 5. I've already read 1-6, but I like watching the anime adaption for the parts I enjoyed reading since I can skip watching the parts I didn't like (Part 3 outside of some key moments) or I heard had problems in the adaption (think it's only part 4?).

Started the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and I’m liking it significantly more than the manga. I did not care for the main characters when reading the manga but find them a lot more lively and likable here, and it does a better job of establishing up-front that Yuuji’s body is absolutely not normal and not something you should just accept without question.

My main issues with the manga don’t kick in until way later and have more to do with the overall story structure, so I’m curious to see how I will feel about the anime once it gets there. But I’m definitely enjoying it a lot in the moment, and think this is one of those cases where (so far, at least) the anime is definitively just better than the source material.

Regarding Jojo, I really don’t think Part 6 makes for an appropriate introduction to the series. While I think you should always just start from the beginning, I do think that anything from Part 1-5 can still be enjoyed to a degree on their own, and can still be a good gateway to the series. Part 6 though is just so heavily based on the legacy of the series as a whole.

Part 3 is definitely my personal least favorite season but I felt like part 4 was one of the best so far. One of the things I really enjoy about watching the adaptations is how creative the sound direction gets so while I can read something like Dr. Stone and not feel like I’m missing any of the experience I almost feel like I’m being cheated when reading JoJo’s as I’m missing out on all the interesting little sounds and riffs that really at least for myself have become a very important part of JoJos.
