Wouldn't know about the fans, I avoid anime fandoms in general since best case scenario you just have some black guys arguing about who would win in a fight between X &Y.

What I'm really enjoying is it's keeping Secunda back and he's not coming out every episode and there are clearly going to be repercussions for the times he has gotten out. He's not just some rage monster and he's clearly plotting something. I'm super optimistic to see where it goes.
Dude I wanna know how Sukana is gonna react to Megumi goin apeshit. Sukana has somethin in the cards for that boy and Yuuji and I wanna know so badly. The culling game is shaping up to be pretty dark, but we're still pretty early in. Do wonder if it'll have Shibuya like repercussions.

Just finished up the first 12 episodes of part 6 and just wondering how much of the manga did they cover?
Going off the volumes and episode counts for parts 4 and 5 I'm gonna guess maybe 1/3rd so far, though I have seen some people say that the anime has changed more things from the manga out of any other part so far but I can't tell of said changes are minor tweaks or major story beats.

Well as someone who read the manga twice, the anime so far really did just cover the first third which was about 50 chapters out of the 158 the manga has. As for the changes, the most drastic changes were really some minor cuts (especially in the first two episodes where there was a bit more worldbuilding for the Prison and some parts of the Marilyn Manson fight). Otherwise the most drastic changes were just scenes they put earlier (like a flashback that happened later in the part put into episode 5 which fit well) or later (like with the introduction of Weather and Anasui). Other cuts were really just some lines being cut or being changed for whatever reason.

I was watching technolyze for the fist time about 2 months ago but I had to stop by episode 20 because it was simply too damn depressing, It was really week made and entertaining but fuck me is it relentlessly dreary and grimdark, I’m thinking of going back to the series but I don’t know if the entertainment will outweigh the emotional costs, does it at least have a bittersweet ending?

What the fuck

I know mixing anime/manga and politics is god damn cringe, but I can't help laughing a bit at this. Though I'm not sure for which reason exactly.
Maybe Japan is finally crumbling at its own weight and is going full anime to influence the world.

Or they might crash and burn.

Y'know what? I can respect this since he's been pretty vocal about the dangers of censorship. Wishing him luck.

Also based when talking about The Simpsons cast's decision to let non-white actors play non-white characters after 30 years.

"It may look like an excessive reaction when looking at things from Japan, but foreign countries have their own particular issues, so I will refrain from simplistic criticism and instead observe the situation for a while," he said. "However, I will say that the move to select actors on their race rather than their individual talents appears to go against the path that humanity has walked throughout history."

It might go as well as Jackie Chan trying to join CPC and all the Chinese laughed at him. Does Japan follow the same meritocracy as China?

Akamatsu has for a long time paid a lot more attention to the legal and business side of manga than his colleagues have, and has gotten fat stacks and a hot cosplayer wife for his troubles instead of having to take frequent medical leave, so I'd respect his judgment abilities.

It kind of makes sense that Ken would go into politics. If ever there was a manga/anime property designed to present a standardized lifestyle for the Japanese people it's Love Hina, kind of in the same strain as 1950's sitcoms.

I thought Kosuke Fukushima’s Oh My Goddess was the show in the same strain as 50s sitcoms

unfortunately he also killed his own series as a result of this attitude. I will never not be mad about the ending of negima and creation of UQ holder, ESPECIALLY coming off the back of the Jack Rakan fight. What the fuck, Ken, wait until your series is done before you start politisperging, please.

I've never looked into Japanese politics nor do I really want to, but from what I've seen from people who live there that its very age biased where only the elderly vote and the younger generations have no interest and motivation.
Someone described to me as "imagine living in a small town that's 70-80% boomers and when the next mayoral election starts most of them will just vote for the person they voted for last election, so your options are either vote for the candidates the boomers will vote for, feebly vote for someone that has no chance in hell, or just skip voting by convincing yourself picking a new mayor doesn't really change much regardless".

That's why I don't really see Ken doing well regardless of how well he presents himself unless he's able to convince some old farts, who probably last time they read a manga was when Tezuka was still alive, to vote for him.
