Watch as Wendee Lee gets her role as Yoruichi ripped from her once Viz starts dubbing the new Bleach anime.
Considering everything with Splash Mountain, Family Guy, Big Mouth, Central Park, ect? Yeah, probably. The US media is in full “immediately cave to any perceived pressure” right now.

Twitter is mad because the bunny hero from MHA “doesn’t sound black”, despite the VA actually being black.

My vote is "okinawan tan"

I just wanna quickly throw this up here because I just got the Tenchi Universe DVD, and I think this is really cool that we have this fun little map of the Tenchi Muyo! universe (at the time when Funimation did a re-release) on the back of the DVD to get a good visual idea of how the series worked.

Did any of the other Tenchi DVDs/Blu-Rays do this, too?

Finished watching some animes. Tower of God, it was solid with great side characters, but I dislike the main protagnoist for being a doormat that people praise for absolutely no real reason. Hopefully the second season will come soon, tried looking at the manga but it looks like shit.
Kaguya Sama S2 is more of the same. I've heard that it kinda loses it's steam and you can feel that the writer realized he doesn't have too much ways to push the main characters, so he focuses on the side ones.
Sakura Wars is meh.
Kakushigoto is absolutely fantastic and I'll recommend it to everyone who wants a heartwarming series. I could argue that the whole idea of having a "bad future" makes the anxiety ruin the jokes in the last episodes but it may very well be intended.

Hope next anime season won't get shoa'd.

That's less the author and more where they decided to end the season. The manga's pacing is good at this point, but there's a lot of heavy shit right over the hump, so they had to stretch things to end where they wanted.

Which is sad, because the phone conversation after the coming big ending event is just gold.

Would kill for a Case-Files type spinoff of
Kara no Kyoukai with Mana and Future dude

More would be fun, but kinda weird, since Mana is aware of both sides of Shiki. Kara no Kyoukai was the prototype for a lot of Nasuverse characters, so it exists in this weird "isn't part of the Nasuverse as a whole, but it still kinda is," since Fate Rider's glasses were made for Shiki by Touko to stop the effects of mystic eyes. Shiki didn't want them, so somehow they made their way to Touko's sister, who is in Tsukihime, and then to Rider.

Anime to recommend to someone who isn't into anime?

Asking for a friend.

Psycho Pass. Best Sci-Fi anime by a mile, besides GoiTS.

ID: Invaded, about a detective whose family is murdered by a serial killer and is now a prisoner. A new invention allows murderers to enter to the subconscious of other murderers and he must stop someone who is creating serial killers. It also probably has one of the best soundtracks ever. Its also an anime-only story, so it isn't constrained by any manga or aything like that. The outro is probably the best I've heard.

Sorry. I hope you enjoy it. Just don't throw your hands up at Stay/Night. There's better stuff.

They could do worse than dubbing Garden of Sinners. UFOtable, if its sick of Fate, needs to start on witch of the holy night.

Has anyone heard when Song of Seiya is getting made? Butcher is behind that one.

As I don't speak Japanese, I prefer English. Its a completely different experience watching without having to read. Though the dub industry has a nasty STD it needs to get treated...

I might try the VN, but I'm really looking for something to distract myself. So that means watching.

I mean, yeah, neither do I, but you accidentally implied that you're illiterate because I'm pretty sure you can read. My friend was like, 'You're watching anime so much now you should just learn Japanese.'

I'm not learning one of the hardest languages on Earth just to watch anime, christ.

You have to consider the protagonist was basically living in a cave by himself and had no contact with people at all. The only person he comes into contact with treats him with a modicum of respect and bonds with him and she's really his only outlet. He's got no experience with the outside world and completely naive. Unlike other protagonists who are far more jaded, they're basically just shocked someone this kind could possibly exist in this hellish place. Some latch onto that, others despise him for it. They're also just perplexed that he's got really no desire to climb the tower except for following the one person he needs. And that's really where it gets interesting.

I've been aching for an Iago villain for such a long time that I loved that Rachel fulfilled that role. She's pitch black and driven mad that Bam is well-liked, has this power and doesn't even care about it. He's not at all interested in climbing the tower. The problem is Rachel wanted to be special, powerful, and then there's this fucking loser from this cave that latches onto her like some puppy and gets everything she deserves? Fuck that. She's the star. She's the protagonist, not Bam, some idiotic bumpkin who trusts everyone he meets.

I really liked that and hope it stays that way. Also idealistic protagonists going HAM in anime is great.

I just looked up what that is and good lord it is a mess.

I wouldn't worry about the Nasuverse as a whole, FSN is pretty self contained and doesn't need any of the extraneous bullshit that's built up. I only recommend Kara no Kyoukai because it's just a bunch of movies, and it does explain a few concepts FSN doesn't. Without the flowchart baggage. Also the soundtrack is great and it looks great.

EDIT: Did have a flowchart before realizing just much it spoils things. Don't want to completely ruin Secret Asshole's watch. Or just confuse it.

And people wonder why I prefer subs.

I didn't accidentally imply anything. Watching television is hard when your eyes are on little words at the bottom of the screen. You miss nuance. I know because I've watched subbed and dubbed and I always miss little expressions or actions by characters because I'm reading instead of watching and listening.

FSN is one of the greatest visual novels of all time. It involves reading, lots of it. Either way this is all about enjoyment. Enjoy something or don't

None. Just stay the fuck away from the Nasuverse.

Why, it's mostly excellent. Tsukihime, Garden of Sinner, even Canan are decent to great.

For those interested, Tsukihime has been translated to Manga, as well as Melty blood 1 and 2. Garden of Sinners has an ongoing translation that isn't bad. Canan and Garden both have anime, maybe someday Tsukihime will get one...

Because from what I've seen it's mostly a collection of terribly written fetish fapfics by an honest to God lolcow. And we're talking about writing that is so bad that Nasu makes Neil Druckmann look like Stanley Kubrick by comparison. And not to mention the rape worms.

If you really have to go into the Nasuverse, Kara no Kyoukai is a show I don't remember being terrible and you can watch it. Fate/strange Fake is worth a try because it was made by Narita instead of Nasu and his partner in crime Gen Urobuchi.

And why on God's green Earth would you watch Canaan when Black Lagoon exists?

That's the first I've seen of it but I don't have any Tenchi Muyo DVDs made since about 2005 or 2006.

I love black lagoon and I like Canaan. Nasu is a little deeper than fetish fap and rape worms (Crest worms), but it is very dark. Garden of Sinners gets pretty dark to, depending which film your talking about.

His stuff can be pretty intense, but Neil cuckman comparisons, ouch!

I see.

Problem is it's one thing to be dark, but something else when your writing isn't just bad but outright irredeemable. Nasu's writing isn't just terrible it's pure trisomy 21 if the backstories of Mordred or Jack the Ripper weren't a hint, not to mention the abomination that is Fate/Zero. Nasu himself, or the fans might say how this is allegedly deeper than you think, but the reality is it's just Nasu writing embarrassingly terrible fap stories about his waifu, his degenerate fetishes and in some cases even pedophilia. Minus the letter, it's a similar situation with Druckmann whose terribly written fetish game is hailed as something deep and dark.

Not only does the comparison with Neil Cuckmann stand, Nasu manages to be even worse.

Credit where credit is due however, I do enjoy the memes that came out of this godforsaken franchise, especially the Astolfo ones. And Gilgamesh is the only good character.

Dont know if this has been posted here, but Trigger is making a Cyberpunk 2077 anime.
The director of Promare and Kill la Kill is doing it so it might be kinda good

Won a Bebop bluray auction on ebay. Binged the series last year and I have the limited edition bluray of the film so this will be quite something. Ending theme is still the best.

Can I reccomend Noir? It is my favorite anime despite being a bit slow. Its dated but the dub is solid as is the sub. Shelley Calene-Black's performance as Mireille is one of the most underrated performances in anime (since you saw Canaan this is a treat) as is Hillary Haag as Chloe.
One of her other fantastic performances is Hamyuts Meseta from The Book of Bantorra, a sadly overlooked series.

Garden of Sinners is the only worthwhile Nasuverse-related anime. You get all of Nasu's quality writing with weird religious and philosophical ideas yet none of the boring Fate crap.

I mean the issue with Fate is that it has a lot of writers of varying degrees of quality. Nasu is a generally a good writer as I consider Fate/Stay Night to be a really great visual novel (even if it has some flaws) but then you have subpar hacks of varying degrees of quality like Yūichirō Higashide (Fate/Apocrypha), Hazuki Minase (Writer for Prillya anime and a likely lolicon), Hikaru Sakurai (mediocre anime and wrote some Fate content notably the Septem and Shimosa arcs for Fate Grand Order).
