Holy fucking shit, Bennett the Sage's newest review is on this piece of shit--and no one saw it coming.

Been a huge Lupin the 3rd fan for some time now, but I just started Part 4 and I've gotta say, it's definitely really great within the first few episodes. Looking forward to Part 5 whenever that drops.

I've started watching Ceres, Celestial Legend, and...

...holy shit, it can't be this bad. It's just late at night, I have to be imagining this. The dub is probably just making things worse than it actually is, but the pacing is horrendous. I took a quick look through the first volume of the manga and saw that it's skipped quite a bit of scenes while changing up scenes on top of that, and I think that's why it's been an awful first three episodes for me. I have this feeling that had I seen the anime as a teenager and/or not read the manga series first (and it's one of my favorites), I'd probably be more into it.

At least the OP song is pretty. The visuals play out like a 90s OVA OP, however, and it kind of weirds me out how much it doesn't work for a TV series.

I've seen it over a decade ago, at least someone's going to do it!

Thats funny I was just thinking about Super Kid, I wanted to find a dvd quality version but I dunno if that exists. There is like no information about this movie online. Someone on youtube did upload the spanish dubbed version without camera zoom ins. I'm not even sure if it was released in America.

The only copy of the "English Version" was a VCD put out in Malaysia/Singapore back in the early 2000's (or late 90's whatever). I bought that copy because I didn't know what to expect when I got it. The cover alone made me think "DBZ" and was curious to see what this monstrosity is. Needless to say was I wasn't disappointed!

The "camera zoom ins" on YouTube is basically someone using the "Image Enhancement" filter when they shouldn't be. There's plenty of great recordings on YT that are ruined because someone thought they needed to apply that dumbly. I could upload my VCD copy if I wanted someplace (it's in MPEG-1 mind you), or I could take another foreign language version and stick the audio on since there's not much difference either way. Someone in Korea's not gonna restore this anytime soon!

Enjoy!

EDIT: This is the whole film, plus several language editions and some added picks, and even an MP3 of where they got the theme song from (since it's pretty typical for Korean anime of this era).

ANOTHER EDIT: Just so people know, there's no zoom/clunky movements here as that was all done on the YouTube video thanks to whoever used that stupid filter. Nobody ever seems to mention that besides me but you won't get that from my source!

After watching the last Project A-ko, I've learned that Jews come from space. And the dub (don't know/don't care about the sub) called these invaders "terrorists" even though they only arrived to take their princess back home. I couldn't make this up if I tried.

It's all fine and well in the end anyway. I think I first watched this one in Japanese from a VHS rental back in the 90's (the store only had this one and one other A-Ko video so I didn't find them all at the time sadly) so I had to go with the subtitles anyway (forget if they were being called "terrorists" there or not). The end of the video (which the dub version removes in favor of repeating the ending of the second video) featured a sweeping tilting shot of the city from the houses up to the clouds set to whatever re-written cover of the first movie's end theme was, then we get a shot of B-Ko's face (or half of it) as she gives out a giggle (because you know it's not OVER yet), then suddenly we're given a preview to what ended up being released after all this....

I know quite a few who loathed this "Versus" two-part OVA, though it was oddly the first I saw of A-Ko thanks to Sci-Fi Channel giving this and the original movie airplay at all (minus the nudity). Looking back this was more of putting the girls through a "Dirty Pair" type adventure.

Reminded I picked up a few anime cels based on "Final" including this scene I had matted/framed!

I do wish I had this poster though, I think this went to one of their CD's of original tunes or something, but it's quite an excellent cast shot including the few space guys who are shown with halos (since they were killed)!

This is less of a spoiler than it might seem like. Read The Promised Neverland, everyone!

also read IB: Instant Bullet.

It was a lot better than I expected it to be. It's about a bunch of losers/outcasts/misanthropes who develop superpowers that can only be used if there's some kind of malicious intent involved. I expected over the top violence, angst, and faux philosophizing but instead got fairly reasonable levels of violence, angst, and philosophizing as well as an unexpected level of feels.
