To be fair, Noah is an absolute cunt, and I can't understand how anyone can work with him for more than a minute without hitting him in the teeth with a knife sharpener.

It's been driving me nuts for a while, and while I haven't found the exact post that she made, the insane asexual TGWTG/CA SJW I was thinking of was indeed Elisa Hansen, and this one of the posts she made I remember reading either on this site or on the cwckiforums back when I was a lurker.

It's not the post with the random.txt "asexual or at least sex repressed" quote, but it's still pretty insane.

I've heard more then one reddit rumor/piece of gossip that everyone on TGWTG/CA hated Noah (and Linkara too) behind their backs, but tolerated them because of views they brought in.

One should watch how much of GG they bring up. As much as how Todd may have some involvement, it shouldn't really contribute to here. One can bring up his ideology if he were to shoehorn it into his reviews like Nostalgia Critic trying to put some storyline into his reviews despite the fact that not many people came to hear about a review, not politics or some skit.

One of CA's most fundamental issues is that there's no professionalism: it is/always was a group of bickering socially stunted man/womenchildren no matter what Doug and Mike thought.

And no surprise. People who conduct their career through the Internet and have few material or social ties to real life are bound to turn out that way. It's exactly what happened to Spoony, for example.

Yeah, I mostly brought that up to showcase his hypocrisy. Credit where it's due: he keeps it out of his reviews.

I haven't been keeping up with NC recently. I know he issued a ban on GamerGaters being members of his site but has he been bringing it up in his reviews too? He made a hopelessly pandering MRA joke in his Jupiter Rising review but I didn't know he'd specifically brought up GamerGate.

I don't think he did. Just the forums chased anyone who expressed any form of non-lockstep movement with them away because the majority of them are complete tards who can't handle that they may be wrong.
 
Regardless of the whole political bullshit, Doug's been on a serious downward slope for quite a while now. You could even argue it happened as early as Kickassia because as dumb as the Anniversairy Brawl was, at least that didn't have three straight minutes with every reviewer from that site chanting "I BELIEVE IN SANTA CHRIST".

Or, at least, that's when I started gradually losing interest in TGWTG in general.

A quarter of the Fury Road review was devoted to that, too, with a healthy addition of "IDZ A FEMINIST MOVIE."

Yes, I know that there were some idiots complaining about Imperator Furiosa's gender, but I've been more exposed to the people who parroted "FURY ROAD IS FEMINIST AND THAT'S WHY IT'S GOOD" ad nauseam.

Ah right, I couldn't get past the first few minutes of that one. I'm sick of the pretentious, overly-dramatic "The movie was good... but is it a masterpiece?" posturing where he acts like he's going to put forth the most controversial opinion ever. Seriously Doug, you're vastly overestimating your relevance.

Nope, speaking as someone who lived through that era of music. I can safely say that while there are some worse bands than others, none of them are particularly good. Even remotely.

Yeah, if Doug had just a little self-awareness, he would have realized these "reviews" he keeps on doing aren't that great. And the opinions he shoehorns in aren't much better than the rest of the content.

He was always pretentious and siding with Anita and ZQ wasn't shocking, but defending someone like Sarah is inexcusable.

It's public knowledge now that NC was revived to keep CA afloat. The failure of Demo Reel was a big financial blow and it forced Doug's hand; he was serious about cancelling NC until he realised he wouldn't subsist just managing the site full-time.
