I think I am just overexposed to the NC, I can't say if Doug himself is in decline or not. The only reason why I still visit the site is to check if there is a new "Here There Be Dragons" out, the only show that is worthwhile on the site... except maybe SF-Debris, which usually runs on my other screen, when I only need half a brain for other stuff.

If anyone has declined it's Spoony/Noah. He doesn't do real reviews anymore and his 'Counter Monkeys' (which I really enjoyed in the beginning) are now plus one hour long ramblings about a single topic, you could check off in fifteen minutes. The rest are just wrestling- and movie-vlogs about whatever he has seen that evening. Also, his 'output' is down to a video every other month (vlogs not counting). Damn shame. I really liked that guy's videos.

Didn't he rent an entire studio or something to do Demo Reel?

I knew it was gonna' flop when he announced it. To maintain a studio that size, you need a lot of talent to utilize it. You can't just rely on 1-2 videos a week to pay for that shit.

I still kinda' watch new NC videos (with Adblock on) and occasionally he does something all right. The Cat in the Hat review was legit good. He usually falls way short when it comes to criticizing a movie effectively and it just makes you want to see Red Letter Media or YourMovieSucks.org do a review of the same flick.

His After Earth review had NOTHING on Red Letter Media's Half in the Bag review or YourMovieSucks.org's epic review.

He did. Not sure what the hell's going on with its fate though. Does he still have it?

You'd think that after making these videos for so many years his acting would improve, but nah.
Well you got to remember, Doug (and most of TGWTG) weren't actors to begin with. And besides, "Acting school? What's that?" also comes into play.

Well it's not so much acting as it is flailing around in an office chair like a 'tard and screaming random shit about a movie. There's really not much of a way to improve or refine it.

Still, you'd think with the addition of skits they would at least put in some sort of effort or at leat one of them would be talented, but it's just the same old sperging out just in front of a new set.

I'm shock they have put more episodes of that garbage on Youtube after the first one gave everyone nuclear fallout.
I'm shocked that they haven't tried to do the other shows that they pledged for due to stretch goals considering this.

And last I checked, they stole equipment from a company who actually used their space at one point to I think sell to make up the difference.

Well, yes. But Doug is at it for so long, he could have squeezed some acting classes in there.

Also, I would argue that the other Walker brother is the more talented one.

That requires not being arrogant (brags they're the next Spielburg) and capable of forethought (Quitting Job in dickish way).

Why on Earth does a conglomerate of shouty men have enough backdoor drama to warrant its own TV series?
The same reason why a website who laughs at idiots has issues falling for the same things the people they laugh at do.

Why on Earth does a conglomerate of shouty men have enough backdoor drama to rival the plots of some TV series?
Because it's nice to make fun of the idiocy of other people more famous? Or maybe it's because they have all sorts of problems.

Either way, it's pretty damn enjoyable whenever things go wrong for guys like Doug and Lewis.

This may or not be late but Doug did an interview with ABC (I guess his local affiliate?) about his douchey job quitting video 2 years ago. Future employers take note.

Also 6 years ago he did a PBS commercial that was advertising a special about some of the most famous comedians of the past 100 years. The irony is baffling. Also cringe warning.

EDIT: The TVTropes Dethroning Moment page is an autism treasure trove but this one contribution made me laugh my off in how much the fan overestimated Doug's "comedy".

Channel Awesome died as many of its famous "reviewers" left the site, really leaving it to Doug, Brad, and Lewis to keep the site afloat. It didn't help that anyone with the tiniest bit of talent was overshadowed by the bigger people. Justin/JewWario was my favorite reviewer of all time, because he genuinely loved what he was doing and the people who watched him. What happened to him was a tragedy, and then people like Angry Joe try to cash in on it. The fuck?

Ugh, that PBS ad, couldn't they have gotten literally anyone else? Also, while I normally detest DMoS pages, I think Doug's is the perfect example of "Expectation shattering" in regards to the content being talked about. Shame they couldn't be less spergy.
